We hit up L&M as part of our summer donut tour and the kids have voted it their fave! The enormous chocolate donut ring won them over immediately. But incase you're wondering if it was simply the size that had them all google eyed, I assure you it also delivers on taste. I had a smaller ring donut, vanilla Glazed with sprinkles and it nearly melted in my mouth. Delicious. This is my favorite bakery to go to when I want something sweet! For starters their donuts are amazing! Always fresh and delicious which is exactly what you want in a donut. I have tried other things from there too as well and they are amazing too! If you want to place an order your can do it over the food, or online. I tried their online ordering and it was perfect! I chose what I wanted, and when I went to pick it up; it was exactly how I pictured it. However, I do wish they would offer some gluten free options. I recently developed a gluten allergy, and I was hoping they would have some gluten free options. Maybe they might in the future, but they are still an amazing bakery! The staff is so rude there! You would think that during the holidays they would be a bit friendly not even close! People stand outside of the bakery waiting to get in to have the confections and you walk in to a lions den. In these times they should be grateful for the business that they have when other businesses are shutting down. Heard of this place as a generous coworker brings in their mini eclairs, cream puffs and other goodies for special occasions. We went for the drive ourselves today and it was pretty good. The mini eclair was creamy and the pastry was light and spongy. My hubby had their cherry turnover which was unfortunately not what he hoped it'd be. It was too soft and not flaky as he preferred. The sticky bun was sticky as ever! Very soft and gooey. Since it's a bit of a drive, not sure if we'll go back. read more

Very disappointed customer! My family and I have been customers of L&M for over 15 years and purchase their cakes for every occasion! We usually LOVE their cakes, especially their buttercream icing! Yesterday, we ordered a simple birthday cake and were shocked at the writing on the cake as well as the taste of the cake. I am not trying to be rude when I say that it looked like my 4 year old son did the writing, and the cake was incredibly dry, possibly even stale! I elected to utilize Social Media and posted to the business' Facebook page so that I could share my photo and my sadness over this. The post stayed up for about an hour, and several of my friends were commenting on it-- until my cousin asked me why I had deleted my posting. I checked back and realized that L&M had actually deleted it off of their page. I decided to re-post the photo asking them to not delete it again, as I was not trying to be rude, but I was just trying to use social media for its purpose and that was to provide my honest feedback. Here is where we both got the most upset: My Mother then called the bakery on my behalf (since I am working) and spoke with a manager, Chrissy. My Mother told me that she was 'reprimanded' by Chrissy for posting to Facebook and that Chrissy offered her to bring back the uneaten portion of the cake and she could have a portion of her money back. I was very dissatisfied with this considering I was the one who posted to Facebook, not my Mother, and that I work in customer service and know that this is not how a customer should be treated. I was also shocked that they would ask us to "bring back the uneaten portion for a portion of our money back." That seems a bit catty to me, not to mention insulting. I decided to call the bakery myself and spoke with Chrissy and asked her if she had the conversation with my Mother. She agreed that she did and when I asked her if she yelled at my Mother about the Facebook posting, she began to speak over me and I felt that I did not have the opportunity to speak with her or explain my concerns with their product or their interaction with my Mother. Chrissy then went on to tell me that she did tell my Mother that she would "appreciate if we didn't 'blast' their small business on Facebook" and my response to her was that I did no such thing! I simply posted a photo of their product with my honest, respectful opinion. I expressed to Chrissy that I wanted to speak with her boss, if possible, and I was told that I should call tomorrow to speak with John, the owner. I will certainly reach out to John tomorrow, not only about my dissatisfaction in their cake, but also the way my Mother and I were both treated by his manager, Chrissy. I would never speak with a customer in such a manner that we were, which seemed like the intent was to make us feel like we are wrong for providing our feedback. My favorite pastries are sticky buns with nuts and raisins. (They sell them without nuts too) Reminds me of the old school ones from years ago, growing up in Philly. This review is about the service I received there today. My purchase was under $10 (a last minute thought for a friend of mine) and the girl behind the counter told me I should pay in cash as they charge for anything under $10 by credit card. I simply told her that in NJ it's actually illegal to charge for a purchase by debit card and she blew up, actually blew up and handed me my a** on a platter. She was immediately so angry and abusive I felt lucky to get out of there with my life. I will never go back there again, abuse is not acceptable no matter what kind of day you're having and she had absolutely no reason to treat me so poorly, I simply relayed a tidbit to her. She went on about it for a good 5 minutes until some other customers there told her to calm down. It's a damn shame that some people just don't know how to behave. Since this is the third time I've had donuts from L&M and they were amazing, I know it just wasn't a fluke. Where do I even begin?? They make even a glazed donut taste like something magical. The cream donut is OMG HOLY COW amazing. There is this slight crispness to it as you bite in but not the Krispy Kreme kind of greasy crunch- this is different and I can't quite explain it besides it's out of this world and the creme is nothing like you've tasted before. Soooo good and not heavy. Don't know if you're like me and feel like when you eat a donut (or two) that it feels like a pile of bricks in your stomach for hours afterward but these do not. I grew up in Riverside and my father always stopped every Sunday morning to the L&M bakery. He loved the fruit pastries, and the nut covered cinnamon raisin buns. My sister and I loved the chocolate covered cream donuts. My mother the petit fours. Everyone loved their sheet cakes. I'm 58 years old, moved much further away, I work in Camden. More recently I've returned to buy three dozen chocolate covered cream donuts. Had two immediately, and froze the rest. Fantastic treat. I purchased the coach cake for a baby shower. It was beautiful. It looked like a white stroller sheet cake $40, fed 18. It was adorable, perfect for baby shower.Nothings changed. Well worth the trip.
