Qua is a gem and he is so easy going. Sonneberg was amazing and Chris, Bob and Michelle made it extra special. Rose Hill was also amazing and Kerry was excellent in her explanation of the families. Seneca Falls would have been a nice stop for lunch. We should have had more time there. Qua handled someone that fell like the true champion he is. He is respectful to the seniors and I appreciate that. Qua's good nature and ease makes the trip. Thank you for all of your kindness and generosity. L&M tours are at a reasonable price point but if they had a higher option I would pay for that higher end experience. I do have some advice. I like details and you don't get them on these tours. An itinerary with the times would be helpful. They can be estimates. I also would like other choices for dinners. I do not like sharing especially with COVID and it scares me to share food. If you want to you can but otherwise options would be helpful. I would like to know that the cruise was 2 hours especially given the heat index. The breakfast was also sub par and I am not sure why the hotel had machines out that didn't work. We were very disappointed. Also, no maid service or garbage pick up in the hotel. That to me is awful. All in all I had some laughs and a good time. Not what I was expecting. If you like very basic trips with no extras this is for you. Also - shopping stops or ice cream would be nice. I also like some free time. read more

Listen, take care of your money, don't you ever trust this guys, if you need personalized transportation go else where. I had 42 people group with them, and was really a mess, it cost me the best client ever and a lot of money. Imagine that my group was about to land, and I had no driver, no confirmation, no anything. I payed for an extra driver other day and they only send me one, and I had to redeem money to all the group because was impossible to accomplish what was promised. Stay away and don't you ever trust this guys. A an other thing if you travel is Sunday, don't think about it, if you have any problem they will be closed, and they will never answer you the Whatsapp, no matter what they said. I have just returned from Pittsburgh and Fallingwater. L and M offered a very affordable way to travel to an interesting, renovated city Pittsburgh and a fascinating out of the way iconic American architecture Fallingwater . Our guide was friendly and pleasant but not very knowledgeable about Pittsburgh or Fallingwater. The bus was large, able to seat 68 people, comfortable while accommodating our small group of 21 people.Our driver was congenial and highly skilled. The tours in Pittsburgh and Fallingwater were given by local guides and were outstanding. Our hotel was a Comfort Inn, 8 miles outside of Pittsburgh. A typical hot breakfast was offerred, .The rooms were spacious and adequate, A gym and pool were available, L and M seeks to cut corners. There were no lights on the bus , one dinner was nothing more than a low quality buffet. No assistance was available with luggage. It was difficult carrying luggage up several stairs without a ramp. All in all, L and M is a non first class travel operation offering their patrons an inexpensive means of visiting many desirable locations. In short, one should visit many of the places described, while not expecting much in the way of dining experiences, service or amenities. All in all, my friend and I enjoyed our Pittsburgh and Fallingwater trip and focused on the delights of being in both of these interesting places, while not letting the shortage of amenities detract from our low priced travel experience. read more

My company has chartered a few multi-day trips with L&M that travel as far south as Washington DC. Compared to the companies we used to hire for these jobs, L&M has really been a godsend. Their main office staff (especially Kyle and June) are always punctual and ready to work with us, and give us very competitive rates for the size and length of our jobs. They were also extremely flexible when the size of our group (and therefore the number/size of buses needed) changed multiple times during the planning process. Somehow we've had the same two drivers every time (William and Harry) but that's nothing to complain about since they are both top notch. Our most recent program was a large multi-bus student group - we were pleased to find that William and Harry really knew their way around New York, were polite and courteous to the students, and worked with our guides to find the best drop off and pick up locations for crowded attractions (super helpful!). Really very little to complain about when it comes to booking large, pre-set itineraries. L&M has provided us much higher quality service than previous companies and we will continue booking with them. Thanks! read more

My recent trip to the Amish Area was the trip from hell. 1st off we had to share a small bus with homeless type people who had city paid vouchers. They constantly were asking everybody for money. Next the bus was in poor repair, shocks and springs were gone and we felt every bump and hole in the road. The PA system was so bad we did not understand a work spoken over it. Finally we were promised an Amish Family Meal included in the tour package, and for one reason or another it was not available. So we ate at a diner and AT OUR OWN ENPENSE. No refund or compensation was offered.. In summary stay away from this tour company. read more

4.5 stars. I rented a 24 person bus + driver for a day for a couple stops in the NY/NJ area (pickup in Manhattan). Driver was 15 mins late to pickup, but was extremely responsive/timely during the rest of the trip. Bus was in great working order, clean and comfortable. Booking was relatively painless - I received a quote for the day, prepaid and confirmed via phone (since they kept forgetting to send me an email confirmation of payment). L&M Tours came up as the most competitive quote when I submitted to multiple companies in the area, and I will admit the low BBB and Yelp rating was initially a heavy put-off. However, if this experience was representative, I would definitely use them again. read more

L&M Tours is a great way to take a one, two or even multiple day trip out of the city. They pick up in Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan and the Bronx. The buses are clean and have a bathroom. The tour operator, Qua, is a lot of fun. He tries to make each trip better by doing trivia, giving out snacks, playing DVDs, and music. It is very easy to book a trip. Their office staff are very efficient and send out trip confirmations quickly. Seats on the buses are assigned, which makes everything a lot easier. I have used L&M for a one day trip (Philadelphia Flower Show) and for a two day trip (Salem and Boston). Prices are very good and the variety of trips that they offer is great. Although I swore I would never use L&M again, because of a "perfect weather" forecast and a destination that looked interesting, I gave in and booked a few days in advance. This is not a review of the destination, but of L&M. The bus was literally half empty. It leads me to wonder how a business thinks it's not in their best interest to give a past customer a discount to fill that "non-income producing" seat for a smaller profit than to let it go empty (read my original review) and make $0. Qui (the owner) was our "tour guide". He did not function as a guide, but an attendance taker. The only thing, besides counting heads, that he did was talk about upcoming tours. Instead of talking about "where we were" or "the destination" we had elevator music. He also made some jokes but honestly, not funny at all. Instead, they got some people confused. Drop the jokes, turn off the music and give us information. Lastly, we stopped at a buffet where seniors get a discount. The servers counted the seniors so I know L&M got that discount. On the price we paid for the tour, there was no senior discount. His savings should have been reflected in our price (like, senior discount in the catalogue). Share your savings with us. I'm raising to 2 stars because the bus was on time and didn't break down. There is potential for growth in "the day trip" industry. People in Manhattan don't have cars. I utilized their services 8/28/17-8/31/17 for their Niagara Falls & Toronto bus trip. The trip itself deserves 4 stars but their customer service and planning of certain stops earns them 1 star. Starting off in NYC for pickup wasn't bad. The bus was on time at all pick ups. Once the bus did it's last pick-up in the Bronx and finally got on the road (Monday morning mid rush hour) the first stop was about an hour out of NYC in Ramapo NJ for gas which happened to have a nice Bolla Market. Continuing on, the stops were well spread out and accommodating.....Then we stop for lunch just outside of Binghampton with some options of whatever was in the immediate area. This was approximately 1:30-2PM. Then continuing on we stopped in Buffalo for "dinner" just 3 hours after the previous meal, because the tour guide suggested based on experience we eat in NY to avoid usual rush hour delays at customs. While in Canada everything was nice. The hotel was a motel (Travelodge) and certainly wasn't a view of anything but an ugly parking lot behind the establishment. The tours in Niagara Falls itself were nice on the first full day there. Second day we took the bus and went to toronto for the day. I stayed in the main part of the city and met up with the bus later in the afternoon. The bus went about 30-40 mins away to a castle. After the castle the bus went back to downtown Toronto (where I stayed) and everyone had about 90 mins to shop at their really large mall. After the mall, we went to the Canadian Broadcast museum which nobody really had any care for. Most of us hung out in the lobby awaiting departure. **Here's where the 1 star comes into play** Ride home.... We departed Canada 8AM, made the first stop at about 11:30am at a Glass Museum upstate NY in between Buffalo and Binghampton. Bus departed 1:30PM, made the next stop in Roscoe NY at 3:45PM on the side of the highway at a stop with bathrooms only. **I made a complaint about not stopping for food, and the answer I received was we're stopping again in ramapo NJ (back at the nice Bolla market listed above) that's two hours away from the Roscoe rest stop. I further complained that I didn't eat since the hotel at 7:30AM, and we ate twice on the way up within 3 hours of each other and now we're not eating on the way home?!?!** Tour guide, Ken, was being ignorant and his response was I should've ate at the museum back in the middle of nowhere. I explained that I didn't goto a museum to eat, especially at an expensive overpriced food court for finger foods. ***Here's where the company hit the home run of earning a 1 star. When I phoned their office, they were playing stupid and transferring me around a bunch of times. After explaining my feedback, and them bouncing it back on being the tour guides decision, they continued on to say deal with the tour guide don't call the office we can't do nothing.*** Guess what? You have me on a bus since 8AM, no food since then. It's 4:30PM as I write this, still haven't had any food, and the Ramapo stop isn't for at least another 60-90 minutes. It's a Thursday and rush hour is beginning, so that means as we get closer to the NY thruway and NJ for this stop we'll be sitting in traffic. Bottom line: Don't use a company with terrible planning and customer service. Go to Niagara Falls and do yourself a favor and get a little nicer hotel than travelodge. For the money I spent, the only good thing that came out of it was it included the made of the mist, and I didn't have to drive 7 hours each way from Brooklyn, which by the way would've been much faster than the 12 hours each way on the bus. read more

I have not used L&M Tours but I was almost hit by one of their drivers this morning and wanted to report bad driving. It was on a highway during rush hour; he was in the right lane, myself in the middle. He swerved into my lane (no signal) and if I hadn't slammed the breaks, he would've run right into me. I have been working on and off with L&M Tours for many years. We do local trips in NYC with school groups from across the country. We have only had a couple of issues with drivers not being able to communicate due to language barriers. But other than this, we have had nothing but great service from them. They have clean buses are affordable, and respond quickly to quote requests. June is the BEST! She has always helped us with prompt responses and great service. She does a great job in keeping everything straight and making sure that the correct information is passed along to her drivers. I appreciate their on time service and attention to detail. They have never left me or any of our clients stranded. I understand how traffic is in the city and have set correct expectations with my clients so they understand that not everything is the bus driver's fault. New York is a tough city to drive in, especially in a bus. So the proper expectation by someone like me is vital when working with customers. I went on their trip to Hershey Park about 2 years ago. First of all they make so many stops to pick up people it took nearly two hours just for that, why don't they just have a pickup in Brooklyn and one in Manhattan? We left Bayside at 7:30 am, but didn't get to Hershey park until 1:30 pm! People were furious. Another trip to Salem/Boston for Halloween was even worse. They changed the hotel without telling us until we were there, the hotel (motel) was in the suburbs, with lumpy beds, no place around to get coffee or anything to eat, people told off Kwak the next morning. ?When we got to Boston we went to a shopping mall(?), never got to see Paul Revere's house, or any other historical places, we ate at some cheap buffet place at a strip mall on the way back. read more

I was never called by the agency that the bus was not going out that day.To top that they questioning on giving my money back and who I was dealing with my trip. Totally not happy with this company and will not be using again. First of all they have no cancellation policy at all. So for example if there is a snowstorm or any type of storm you can plan on not getting your money back and no exceptions are made to this rule. My friend and I both lost hundreds of dollars because of this. Then to make matters worse, Qui, the owner is always looking for extra money in tips for himself! Really, you're the owner and you're giving out tip envelopes! The driver yes of course but you no, you get enough with the money people lose due to severe weather conditions and your no-refund policy. Also, when you arrive at a destination you are given such little time you need to run around like a maniac. All in all very unprofessional service and I will not be using again. read more

My mom and I have taken L & M day tours numerous times and have never had any complaints. They are very professional and always on time. Also they take a headcount each time prior to taking off. Which is important. My mom was left when she took Biss Tours before. In a few months we will experience a 2 day tour with L&M. And yes they will cancel a tour if the bus is less than half full, which they do tell you when you pay and I find is understandable as far as business wise. read more

They rpovide what I want to see and that is the sights, whether on a one day trip or a vacation tour. I purchased a one-day trip with L&M Tours. On the night before the trip, I got a stomach virus and was very sick. When I woke up the next morning, I still was not feeling well so I was unable to go on the tour. I called the office later that day and told them that I didn't go and wanted to use the money I had spent toward another trip. The woman I spoke to was very rude and told me that I lost my money and could not use it for any other trip. I was in disbelief because I did not expect to lose my money. I read some negative reviews and I'm happy to write a positive review of the tour company. The tour bus was a regular 40 feet coach, with a toilet, in the back. The bus driver was an excellent safe driver and he kept the bus clean and cool. He stopped about every 2-3 hours, for a food & rest stop. The hotels were 4 star hotels and not bad. The tour guide tried to entertain us and was friendly, congenial & humorous. I was picked up first and the bus was early, however, the LIE was backed up. The rain slowed traffic down more and we arrived at the next pick-up point late. Naturally, the traffic & rain caused us to be late for all the pick-up stops. This was not the drivers fault. The tour guide followed the itinerary but one museum was closed and he tried to substitute something in it's place. Graceland was incredible and we had plenty of time to visit all the places there. The meals that were included were excellent. We went to some all you can eat buffets, with some excellent food. We had a meal at a Cracker Barrel Restaurant, which included drinks, entree & dessert. We received two envelopes for the tip, one for the driver and one for the tour guide. I tipped what I thought they deserved. No one tried to influence us. I would recommend this tour company. I intend to use them in the future for the one day tours and longer tours. read more

Nice busses. Nice business. Newer busses. much more comfortable seats. they work hard, and care for us. Thank you so very much Qua and June. We have been going on L&M tours for over a decade in a half already since he opened. We went from places from Boston, to Virginia, to the Penn Dutch Amish Country, to even a three day trip in Canada. I'd say we went like eight times per summer. June and Qua are very crazy busy, but send us gifts for my son every year for his birthday, they spent a lot of time , effort, and they sure do go out of their way for us (we're great costumers and I don't care who disagrees) one of the gifts was name thingy you can put on a wall or a dresser. Qua is very funny an entertaining. If tours are canceled, theres refunds. Niagat Falls and Tonroto - three day your was our favys and we went four times, our second favys are Montreal and Quebec winter carnival and Ice hotel etc.... and tons more. whale watching in Boston Massechusseeteess, and Busch Gardens in Virginia, Penn Dutch, tour great too (especially the good and plenty resturaunt home cooked amish - style.) and I'll never forget stunning Lake George and the once a year special treat radio with texas southern style chicken Barbeque for dinner-supper before the shows with the horses race starts - of course the rodeo. Also,we highy reccommend appreciate L&M tours services very highly and private tours as well too. It's rain or shine.Qua is so hilarious on tours, he does trivia, gives out pens, papers, lollipops, movies, theres a bathroom on the bus. He compromises.he makes time fly faster. I,ve been using L & M tours for quite some time now having gone on appx 50 trips both day and overnight. Is it American Express-no! However, the bus was always clean, and arrived on time or I received a call re any delays (not long). On occasion a trip might be cancelled due to low interest in that particular tour. If I had a complaint, it would be to have more qualified English speaking tour guides only to make communication easier. When dealing with the public there are always some people who will never be satisfied. Again, not American Express however there are very few tour companies that do escorted day trips out of the city so do you want to go or not? read more

This company should be ashamed of themselves!!! They have no skills in customer service, planning, hiring qualified drivers, etiquette, functional buses. I could go on forever. This company was booked by an international group who came from Europe. before they arrived in the US the company was paid over $20.000.00 for a 11 day commitment. From the very begining the two buses were late in arriving at JFK. One of the buses has no AC, the passengers had to open the emergency door on the roof to let some air in due to the lack of ventilation. We called right away to tell them and let them know that for the next day they should send a better bus. One of the drivers was rude I told the company not to send me this driver again. Our tour consisted of the US and Canada, just before we boarded the buses to go to Canada we were told that we were not be able to use the bathrooms on the buses because they would smell a lot. That the only discharge of waist was made in the home office and that they would be happy to stop for any bathroom request. They failed to tell us that these stops resulted in overtime and they wanted to get paid before we returned. We were on time, our trip did not go overtime, but they insisted that it did. On the way back they demanded to get paid for the sum of 4 Extra hours for both buses, a total of $700.00. We wanted to go to the office and discuss this matter like civil persons before anything got paid. Instead the drivers got orders to hold us hostage in the middle of no were until they got paid. After convincing the driver to please continue to drive due to the fact that all these passengers had to catch a flight back to Europe he continued. After one hour he stops again saying that there was something wrong with the bus and it needed to cool down it was over heating. We get back on the road and once we reached NJ the buses stop again and hold us hostage once again unless we pay the overtime payment. Everyone was in panic they were frighten that they were going to loose the flight. We called the company, we told them that this was iligal but they hang up on us. We were going to call the police but it was getting to late. Therefore I gave them a check. This was just a dispicable act, no one treats a customer like this. When I stopped payment on the check L&M had the nerve to take me to small claims court. After the judge herd both of us, the judge told the attorney that L&M was lucky that we didn't sue them. How can 75 people be held hostage? Many issued could have risen. There could have been medical problems. And for only $700.00 after they got paid over $20.000. Plus he found that there was no over time according to all the calculations. The judge dismissed the case. I urge everyone who is thinking of hiring L&M to forget about it. A company like this deserves their license to be revoked. read more

Due to the holiday weekend schedule for memorial day, My family and I missed the bus to lake george which we were really looking forward to. We lost hundreds of dollars and was told by Adam that it was our fault and that their company don't give refunds which is very disappointing. Let's think ummmmmmm for a company who states their are a" family company" couldn't even have some consideration and understanding for their customers. They should have had a BETTER company policy to encourage customers or at least some type of compensation but Noooooooooooo!!!! Not to mention the last trip we went on with the company was held up for hours because of drama. Last but not least what I don't understand is if you claim to have great customer service why the hell you don't call your customers? Because their is no way in hell your customers can contact you. You have a check off list of your customers and their phone number but you never called ! if you look at your brochure their is really no way to contact YOU the office is closed on Sunday's the same days YOU choose to have your trips which to me is retarded!!! Because they should be a point of contact. Quan is suppose to be the bus guide and the head check which is why HIS number out of all people should be on the brochure. My parents recently returned from a bus trip with L & M Tours to Lake George, etc. Now quite a few folks on the trip with them were very satisfied but this isn't for the more discerning traveler. The main reason my dad booked this trip was because it offered a scenic train ride during the trip. This was cancelled and my parents notified only after while they were already on the trip. They were not offered a partial refund or advance notice; not good. Also no matter how much space was available at certain restaurants and the boat tour, they were confined to a small area, not the best area, where they had to stay and eat. This was all due to the staff apparently not wanting to go through the extra trouble of walking around. Even so, it was not even at the better tables. So they would go to a water view restaurant that was basically empty but still forced to sit all together in a sub-par area of the restaurant. Even the hotel choice, while nice, had my parents staying at the ground floor. Everything you can tell is the cheapest deal they could get. It was very upsetting to me to hear the recount of this trip that my folks were really looking forward to. This company needs to do a better job at customer satisfaction and give the client what they want, what they paid for, and what they think they are getting. read more

I took a day tour from Bayside to Winterthur (Dupont Estate) in Delaware. The outing was from 7:20 a.m. until 9:20 p.m. That's 14 hours. It took 2 hours to pick up passengers in Rego Park, Manhattan and Bay Ridge. We stopped for the included lunch along the way (instead of eating at the destination) at a dump buffet that charges outsiders $8.50 for lunch. We arrived at Winterthur at 2:30. We were told to meet at the mansion at 3:00 for our tour. It took 30 minutes to break us up into small groups. The tour was rushed. Now it was 3:30 and we wanted to see the 3 small exhibits upstairs. We hustled. So it was 4:00 and we missed the last shuttle that takes you around the grounds and we never saw anything. We spent some time in the shop and returned to the bus at 5 p.m., as directed. For a 14 hour day, we got to spend 1 1/2 hrs at the destination!!! The only good thing I can say is that the bus was clean and the driver was good. When I reached out to L&M, they ignored my email. Poor customer service!!! I emailed again and finally they responded that the tour met the description. I guess they forgot to tell us that we would only spend 1 1/2 hr. at the destination and that we wouldn't get to see very much of it. And don't forget the lousy lunch. Don't do it. I chartered a 24 passenger bus from L&M for a trip from NYC to Philadelphia and it worked out great (I cannot speak towards the organized tours). The bus driver arrived early at the agreed upon pickup location and made great time to Philadelphia. He was also on time for the return trip back to NY a few hours later. They were very competitive on price and I would definitely use them again in the future. read more

Qua, June & L&M Tours are a class act. The coach drivers are excellent. The entire staff is quite accommodating. I'm going into my 5th year of traveling with this bus tour company. I have taken day & weekend tours with L&M. They offer a wide variety of tours at affordable prices, for varying individual tastes. My trip favorites are Sight & Sound Theater in Pennsylvania, which stages fabulous biblical plays, other theater venues outside of NYC & historic tours going to sites all over. I have found that when meals are included in tour prices, the restaurant choices are great for both lunch & dinner. I would not hesitate to recommend L&M Tours, & have done so many times, to anyone looking to have a good, relaxing time. read more

I went on the Pittsburgh & Fallingwater trip 8/31/13-09/02/13 I wasted $599.00 of my hard earned money. The trip is expensive but you can tell L & M cheap. The hotel was a dump. The celling tiles were falling down, the hotel smelled of mold and I did not have a shower curtain in my bathroom. Some of the attractions were OK. What really got me and my fellow passengers upset. We went on a boat ride and a fellow passenger fell and got hurt. The Tour Guide was not able to come with us because L & M Tours did not buy him a ticket. I was on a different trip and the guide did not go to the show. I thought it was guides choice not to come. After talking to other passengers it seems L & M is this cheap and they don't pay for tickets for there guides. The guide must be with the group at all times. I will never travel with L & M and advise everyone else not to. If something happens to you your on your own. The hotels are cheap,the meals are cheap. I work hard for my money and L & M trips are overpriced for what they give you. read more

My parents were on An L & M trip Thursday Aug 13 to Montauk NY. When they told me about the trip I was so upset. On the way back from Long Island on the LIE they heard a loud Bang and smoke and fuel were coming out off the bus. Other passengers asked the driver what happened and he could speak little English. All the passengers had to stand outside away from the bus. My parents called the office and some nasty woman told them things happen.. L & M should have safe buses and drivers that can speak English. This review is in response to a vicious and dishonest commentary posted by one Matt B. on 8/31/17. Passengers are entitled to their opinions, but not to their own facts. There are just too many lies and false statements not to warrant a response. Besides atrocious and incorrect use of the English language ("their is not "there"; "Maid" is not "made", "I should have ate" etc.), this passenger is obviously unfamiliar with bus tours, and their strengths and weaknesses. Our lunch stop was at 12:30, not l:30-2:00 pm as he maintains (the driver's log can testify to actual times). I explained that dinner would be on the earlier side, and suggested a light lunch. Our dinner was at a Cracker Barrel, a great favorite among bus tour passengers, who may order anything from soup to a full meal. This was done in order to avoid the usual traffic congestion at the Canadian border, which can last up to two hours or more. As a result of intelligent planning (and good luck) our crossing was extremely quick and easy. The Travelodge (formerly Michael's Inn) in Niagara is an excellent choice to stay, as it is an easy stroll to Clifton Hill and the Falls. L and M tours has wisely selected this convenient property, instead of putting passengers in far away St. Catherine's or even further Ft. Erie, as do some other companies. On the return the bus made a pit stop at the first service plaza on Interstate 90, where passengers availed themselves of the Tim Horton's concession located there. This fact was conveniently omitted in this rant. It was explained that the prescribed lunch stop was at the Corning Museum of Glass, which has a very fine cafe of hot and cold foods. I had a roasted duck leg, rice and green beans for less than $10; quite a value. Two rest stops were scheduled on the return. A brief one in Roscoe, NY just for restroom facilities, and the second where some fast food could be purchased. This passenger just started screaming that he was hungry and wanted to stop to eat. It was explained to him that he had sufficient time to have lunch at the Corning Museum, but in a rage he replied he did not want to spend $8.99 for chicken fingers. There are numerous other choices in the cafe. His puerile response is to callI me "ignorant." (I have over 30 years experience, speak several languages, and am highly educated). He asked the group if they were hungry, and there was no response. In fact, several passengers expressed their sympathy to me for having endured unmerited verbal abuse. I will end here, despite of having more to say, because this review does not merit any more of my time. L and M tours offers very very good ventures to numerous places, and it is a pleasure to be associated with them. read more

L&M is a Chinese owned company that caters mainly to retirees and the elderly. Been on about 10 trips and only 2 of them were problem free. The worst trip was to Peddlers Village/New Hope. The bus broke down leaving us stranded on a NJ highway for 2 hours in the rain. Won, the driver had to shut the bus engine off while he tried to fix it, that's when the entire bus starting smelling like a sewer from the on-board bathroom (no engine/no exhaust). Won finally got the bus to operate long enough to get us to a gas station, where we had to wait another 2 hours for a new bus. By now half the day was over and passengers were LIVID and demanding to go back home (since we were STILL 2 hours away from Peddlers Village). Tour guide threatened if we all didn't get on the new bus, we'd have to stay at the gas station for however long. Ended up spending 1 hour at Peddlers Village and 1/2 an hour at New Hope before heading home at 5:30 pm. Called L&M the next day to complain and all they offered was a $5 coupon towards my next trip! Other problems: On another trip to PA, Won the driver was pulled over for speeding and weaving in and out of traffic. (Incredibly scary); An even scarier incident (coming from CT) was when our driver hit a DEER that darted across the highway. Driver stopped so suddenly and skidded so long that I went face first into the seat in front of me. I was fine, but the windshield was cracked and we had to stop at a service station so he could duct tape up his windshield. Had to drive home very slowly so the window would not shatter completely; On a trip to Kutztown, driver got lost and drove around in circles for 30 minutes. Tour guide had to use his phone's GPS to get us there; They often cancel trips if there are not enough people - which is fine, but its like pulling teeth to get your money back because they aggressively steer you into booking another trip instead of issuing a refund; Buses are dirty (sticky floors, chicken bones, dirty tissues tucked into the seat cushions); When they say 'lunch is included' it will be at an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet.; Twice L&M would NOT drop me off where they picked me up (Queens). Said there weren't enough people to drive back to Queens. Had to take the subway home from Manhattan; Pick ups are rarely on time (on a 6 AM trip to DC , the bus was 2 HOURS late which cut into our itinerary, again - no kind of monetary apology). Some of the reviews here mention Qua (the owner). Well Qua is a NUT JOB! On our way home, an elderly woman yelled out that the bus driver had just missed the LIE exit (to drop off passengers). Qua angrily yelled into the loudspeaker "No one is perfect, only God is perfect!" Then went into a 10-minute rant about God, divinity and people being "animals". Well, L&M is ALSO far from perfect so go elsewhere for your trips. read more

I went on a one day trip yesterday with L&M to a well known resort in the Poconos. A buffet lunch was scheduled from 12:15 to 1:45. We arrived at the resort shortly after 11:30. Before the meal, my daughter and I decided to take a short walk for some fresh air. We arrived at the lunch area at 12:20. We had been told to sit at only the tables that had an orange balloon as other tour groups were also there. Upon entering the dining area, we saw that there were no empty seats at any of the orange areas. We had booked the trip weeks before and the tour guide/ owner [Qua} did a count of the number of people on the bus. We went over to where he was seated and informed him that there were no seats available. He was very rude and said that it was our fault for being late! I told him that the time had nothing to do with it - he should have given an accurate count to the resort staff. In fact there should have been 4 empty seats as 2 passengers left the trip at the first rest stop due to illness. He became even more annoyed and said that we would have to stand and wait until some people finished their meal. At this point, no one had even gotten up to go to the buffet table yet as drink orders were being taken. I said that was not at all unacceptable but Qua didn't want to do anything. A very nice employee of the resort came over to see what the problem was so Qua was then prompted to stand up. Within a few minutes, the resort staff member had some people moved to make additional room at the table. If it was up to Qua, nothing would have happened. The tour director should never let something like this happen. He should have apologized for the "mistake" in number count and taken action. We will not be traveling with this company again.
