Arroz y Mariscos - so flavorful, so fresh, and such an amazing depth of flavor and seasoning. The crispy Peruvian bread was fantastic. Ask for the HOT chili paste, mix it with the tasty sauce they bring out with the bread for a creamy and hot spread. Staff was charming. They were working on a mural of South America on the walls. Service is in Spanish or broken English/German. Point and smile - you'll be fine!! Enjoy!

And honestly I wonders in because it was close to my hotel. I was glad I did because I found some really friendly owners (two sisters) who have been in Germany for 26 years. One of the owners felt talkative and we practiced our communications skills in my terrible Spanish and her English to the amusement of us both. I learned all about the challenges the family faced in moving to Germany and learning to modify recipes so Germans would eat it. So the food, once they learned I knew what Latin food was supposed to taste like and more importantly that I actually liked real Latin foods they decided to give me something off the menu. She said I won't like what they have on the menu because it was all designed for German tastes apparently Germans don't like things very spicy and they don't the flavors that their traditional Latin foods have or at least they don't purchase them. so the meal they made me was something she would normally make for her family. It was a kind of marinated steak and Yucca plants and other vegetables. Then she brought out what she called a chili sauce that was very hot but also very flavorful, she said Germans would never eat it and she was surprised when she saw that I liked it. The owner said most customers don't like chilis or peppers here. we enjoyed the rest of the evening I ended up staying probably two hours. Everything that they brought out was very good. I got introduced to other members of the family, I got to go back to the kitchen and made friends with everybody there. I was invited to come back and made me swear that I would return before I leave to tell them goodbye. It was really good experience and fun to be close to the people who are serving you. Normally I would not like so much interaction but being alone it was perfect. If you go in ask to order off the menu if your adventitious.

Everyone of us of course had steaks, with some potatoes and a bit of vegetables. The red wine was flowing, some of the best Argentinian wine of course. The inside is reminiscent of an old-school steakhouse. It's dimly lit and lots of wood and dark furnishings. There's shelves and walls of bottles and more bottles. Besides a great company and the good food, there was also bands serenading us through our dinner. Can't beat the abundance of entertainment at every corner of this dining room. The place felt so alive and vibrant. This is touted as one of the best steak houses in Cologne. There's a lot more competition today, but this one is still running strong.

The menu has a number of starters, salads, steaks and desserts. You can order your different cuts of steak cooked in different ways and with pepper crust or a few other combinations. You can order sides and sauces as well. My steak was cooked ok and lacked flavour for what was supposed to be a piquante :-) Portion was fairly big and normally I would have no problem with it but, the lack of flavour put me off it. All in all an ok place for meal. I am sure there are better places in town for a good steak.

The beef ribs also catched my interest but I couldn't resist to try out the Ramen and with that there was no stomach room left for the ribs. Plus my last beef rips experience (not in this restaurant) wasn't that great. The ramen really looked and tasted authentic! They hit the flavours and the ramen egg was done well. Maybe a tad too salty but it was marinated and cooked properly which I can't even say for some Japanese run ramen restaurants in Germany. The Katsu Bao reminded me of China meets Japan meets Vietnam meets Korea. The Bao (China) fluffy and slightly sweet, the Katsu (Japan) crispy, the sweet sour pickeled carrot and fresh cilantro (Vietnam) and finally the Kimchi (Korea) for a sour spicy note. The homemade ice tea was good too. SERVICE A bunch of cool and friendly guys were rockin this place during my visit. I was the first one to arrive for lunch and expected the service to be fast. No complaints. ATMOSPHERE Industrial and modern look. A dark color theme with some Japanese pictures on the wall and an open kitchen. I like it. RATING So why just four stars? First I wanted to give full five stars but I the last star to me is something personal. The restaurant needs to scream amazing to me and unfortunately it didn't. Everything was really good. The ramen was even better than some Japanese run places I have been to. The problem to me is not the food. It is the flair. The restaurant and its menu wants to sell their customers Japan. The food is there but I just don't get the Japanese vibes and this has nothing to do that none of them was Japanese. You can sell the Japanese feel without being Japanese. It starts with the decoration. While they had some elements they were kinda lost. This restaurant could be anything really. The atmosphere didn't emit Japanese vibes of an Izakaya either. I still can recommend this place and will come back to test more.

Authentic Japanese, real solid ramen…read more The spicy chicken ramen really hit the spot, savory broth and perfectly cooked noodles. I was surprised how thick and umami the broth tasted. The takoyaki were also delicious, only wish they came with 6 and not 4. The chicken wings, another home run. The gyoza were a bit on the soggy side, perhaps maybe another 30 seconds in the pan would've made them perfect. Also try the various fruit teas, not too sweet and perfect to wash down the hot noodles with.
