called to get a quote form home in Hicksville to Hicksville Train station, $11 ordered the ride for my stepdaughter and her husband woman driver said it was $19 told her quote was for $11 she would only take $3 off and drove very erratically. I called dispatcher and he got rude said driver made a mistake and forgot to clear the screen and it was only $11 and stepdaughter gave a $4 tip, this is totally incorrect and i let him know it. he said he was trying to run a business and didn't want to discuss it anymore. The morning dispatcher at this taxi service needs to seek counciling he has"anger management issues". He talks down to you as though you are doing a disservice to him. You try to get his attention and he snaps at you for whatever reason. They are so unprofessional they pick you up and then says to you I have someone else to pick up. Worst experience ever. The driver arrived late and was extremely rude. He didn't help me put my big luggage in the boot and drove in a very aggressive way. When we arrived, he jumped out of the car and opened my door as if to say "get out NOW!", before I had the chance to tell him I wanted to pay with credit card. As soon as I told him, he slammed the door in my face, got inside the car, took my credit card and hit it so hard inside the CC terminal that it broke! We really need negative ratings on Yelp. There must be a checkbox on the job application form that says, "I'm a rude, obnoxious, inconsiderate jerk" and if you check it, you're instantly hired. Twice a cab was supposed to pick my wife up from the train station and never showed. When I called their office the guy at the other end of the phone argued with me and then hung up on me. Not only does their service reach new lows but they park at the train station like they own it. Every night when I go to the station to pick up my wife, they are parked all over the lot with no concern whatsoever for actual parking spots. I've considered posting several times but refrained. Today was the straw that broke the camel's back. First, I waited 55 minutes for a cab going from Plaiview to the Hicksville train station. I called at 4:10 hoping to make the 4:48, and told the dispatch so. He told me they don't guarantee trains. Well, listen to your hold message, because it sure sounds like you do. I called dispatch after waiting 30 minutes and was told the cab would be there "any minute." Fast forward 20 minutes, still waiting, so I call again and am told 5 minutes. No cab after 5 minutes, so I call again. He'll be there any minute says dispatch. Yea, you told me that 25 minutes ago too. Dispatch was nasty. You may not like that I called to make sure someone was actually coming, but a separate incident had me concerned. Chatted with the cab driver and he said he was only told to get me 7 minutes (more or less) before he arrived. On Tuesday I also waited an hour. When I called after 40 minutes the dispatcher insisted I had the wrong number because he had no slip with my address. Turns out the dispatcher who originally took my call didn't pass it along when he left his shift. Yellow Cab may be the cheapest, but their customer service is lacking. If you're looking for actual service and satisfaction, look elsewhere. read more

I have truly never felt so UNSAFE in a taxi. The driver, John, in Cab #65 truly seemed like he may have been having a psychotic break. He was kept yelling and was speeding, slamming on his breaks, and swerving in and out of cars. I'm thinking about calling the police on my driver. It was that bad. The driver had no idea what he was doing. He yelled at us multiple times to call the cab number in order to find out the fare. He treated us like we were annoying him. Your job is to drive me to a destination. That's it. He ran a bunch of stop signs and one of the passengers had to beg him to stop. Avoid this company if you literally want to live. Not only should they not be in service, they should be shut down. I'm not from the Hicksville area and the driver is yelling at me to find out where he is supposed to go. I can't even fathom how terrible the company is. I use their service often enough for them to remember where I am going each time and the dispatcher just hung up on me because I called to cancel (not even 5 min after making the reservation). Beyond horrible experience. I called up at 5pm sharp and I asked for a cab to be at my location in Levittown at 6pm and to drive me and my girlfriend to Nassau Colosseum, the woman who answered actually seemed to be very nice and said no problem they will be there 6pm sharp and I also asked while I was on the phone if there was a possibility they could give me a rough estimate on how much it would cost, she said $22 for two people, which I did not think was a bad price. I wait until 6:10pm and call again to make sure my taxi was on its way. The man who answered said that they did not have my taxi in the system and they will have one there within 15 mins, although annoyed I said Okay no problem and waited. I call back at 6:25 and ask where is my taxi and the guy said, Its going to be another 10 mins, and at this point I was very angry and I hung up. We then found another means of transportation in this time. I then called up again and said I wanted to cancel the taxi, the man yelled at me saying I was being ridiculous and already had a cab on its way, I told him "Your 45 mins late, and I need to be somewhere at a certain time, im not being ridiculous." They cram multiple passengers in to one car so the unlucky last person to be picked up has to wait for the car for unreasonable amount of time. We got a ride from Hicksville train station. It was a good price we were quoted and both the gentleman we booked it from and the driver were both very nice and polite. We shared the cab with a stranger which was odd, and the cab itself had seen better days. But as service goes it was polite and punctual, and that's all that really matters. read more

It could be better. It could be worse. Since Uber's are still few and far between on LI (lyft doesn't event exist yet), it's a necessary evil to hit up this old school taxi service located right under the Hicksville LIRR. I've had mixed experiences with their service, but I get to where I'm going eventually and that's really all I care about (though it's hard not to compare them to NYC livery service). Recently, I used them for an early morning pickup and it went well. The driver was 5min early and I was alone in the cab. They now have a cc reader, so you can ride cash free. The main issue is leaving the LIRR. You're sort of thrown into this uber pool situation waiting for enough people to pile into a cab. You might be the first stop, you might be the third, you never know. The prices are also confusing bc there's no meter. This def leads to people having the feeling of getting ripped off, though my rides had always been the same for every ride ($7-8). Overall, they're reliable enough to get you home 24/7 and they deserve credit for that. If they weren't there... you'd be stuck. read more

Got in a yellow cab at Hicksville station to Syosset, having missed the hourly local train. Driver was friendly and knew how to get to my destination without gps. Had no issues. I would do it again and recommend their taxi service. I am not local, so appreciated their polite attitude. The driver properly called in the ride and got the price from the dispatcher. I have never actually posted a review before for a place I didn't like, because I know people have their bad days, and i don't like to harp on the negative. But today it is at least 5 degrees below freezing, it's dark out, and there's ice on the ground. When I got to the LL Yellow Cab station they could not quote me when the next cab would come. I did not want to be dishonest or waste the drivers time, so I said I was thinking I might try to get an Uber if it was closer and apologized. I then asked if he knew the name of the street corner I was at, because I'm from Queens and not Long Island. This was the first time I've ever been to Hicksville. He literally laughed and said he wouldn't tell me the name of the street if I was planning to take an Uber. I thought he was kidding, and asked again... Apparently he was serious. So I tripped through the ice and snow to the corner and stood there in the dark attempting to find a street sign on my own. I work with people all day long, I do understand that people have rough days, but in a million years I would never have said something like this to someone. This was the first person I had ever spoken to and Hicksville, and if I ever come back to this town or anywhere in Long Island I don't care how long I have to wait, I will not be taking this car service. read more
