An excellent place to drop by - located near the insanity of the Boulevard Haussmann shopping area…read more(Galleries Lafayette is down the block), this little Shop right off Rue Provence is a welcome refuge from the noise and the crowds. The pastesis de natas are as good as the ones in Montreal (another Francophone city with Portuguese bakeries) or in Ironbound, Newark, New Jersey (a large Lusophone area near New York City). The natas are crispy on the outside, soft and custard-like on the inside, but with a very satisfying mix of sweet and savory.
Not cheap by American standards, but it is a definitely a value when appreciated within the rather expensive 9e arrondissement.
