Here is a review that I'm not paid to write, but most importantly sharing from my heart, with…read morehonest words and sharing my experience. I'm going to reciprocate what was gifted to me and it's not going to be a simple one word sentence. Like : Great. Outstanding. Wonderful to work with, or anything in that line. I'm going to give back what this person has gifted me with and that's time, precision, paying attention to detail and honesty. Now I may not have the talent with art that this amazing woman Lilliana Marin possesses (hence me seeking out her services), however, I am going to follow her lead with being my true authentic self I've been conducting business for more than 40 years and now I own multiple businesses. With that being said, I've experienced such an amazing and rare gift that I wish, hope and pray all of my customers to receive from me and my staff, and that's having them share in the same experience that I've experience working with Lilliana Marin. If my customers (or anyones customers for that matter) receive a fraction of what I was gifted with, God knows we're surely to be that much more successful. With that being said... I've searched for a local engraver in the location where I was and I've messaged them all. That was either emails, phone calls, leaving voice messages or text message. Lilliana Marin from Marin Creations was not just the only person who replied back but most importantly was a true breath of fresh air to work with. You see, I didn't know what it was I wanted to be engraved on a cigar lighter I was gifting someone but Lilliana actually was extremely patient, kind and not only with me (a man with no idea of what I wanted on such a simple project), it seemed like no matter who she was communicating with (myself or anyone else she was working with) we were a priority. When was the last time anybody dealt with any business where they naturally and organically have you feel special like our thoughts/questions were important and our voice matters? Lilliana actually came to me to pick up the item, took the time to talk to me about the project even though her husband was performing at a wedding and they were on their way to the function. Lilliana made it a point, even for such a simple project to show me through her actions that her customers satisfaction is what she strives for. You see, she could've pushed it off and said I'll see you tomorrow or the next day but through her actions she showed me (like she does with everyone) that my customers are important. That type of customer service is second to none. If you take a look at her Instagram account (marincreatons) you're going see that the talent goes so much further than my little project. Lilliana Marin will take any ideas any of her customers have and make it a reality. Thus creating a work of art. So if you have any type of function doesn't matter if it's a wedding, baptism, birthday celebration, retirement or any other moments where you want gift that person with a one-of-a-kind personalized work of art than Marine Creations is a place you should consider. I would even say that people can mail her items so more of the United States can experience something, from a person that doesn't exist elsewhere. I'm so happy, more than pleased and delighted with how this came out, we've discussed more projects for her to assist me with designing and her creating. This might be the most a lengthy review, but I'm just going a fraction of the distance Lilliana Marin will go for every single one of her customers. I just pray all of her customers that have had an opportunity to see this and do their due diligence with sharing their amazing experiences. After all, word-of-mouth is the best form of advertisement. Marin Creations

I love the Ridgewood Market!…read more This Sunday was the first time that I attended. It actually took place on Summerfield Street, which is right near my house (so I had no excuse not to attend!). So my local artisans and businesses were represented here! Not only establishments from Ridgewood (Norma's, Rudy's) but there are tons of other cool vendors from all over NYC represented here! MartiniHandmades (from whom I got an awesome terrarium and bracelet), an awesome empanada table, someone serving shrimp and grits! So many local artists, jewelry makers and thrift stores! I know that this market is awesome, because even my boyfriend, who usually does not enjoy these types of things, found several vendors, items and foods that he loved! Score! Everyone was friendly and some vendors even took credit cards! What a great way to get to meet people from your neighborhood and support local artisans! I can't wait to do all of my holiday shopping at Ridgewood Market!

I guess I'll review this since it is on here, but it is really a recurrent event rather than a…read more"place". It actually is a monthly event held at Gottscheer Hall; I stopped by the initial one in April. It is categorized on Yelp as a "flea market" at moment, but that is really a misnomer; while there were a few booths selling used goods it is predominantly an indoor arts & crafts fair, with some booths selling food products to boot. This might be a good place to check if you were buying gifts; the majority of the goods are likely more appealing to women than men from my judgement. One aspect I do appreciate is that the vendor pool seems to display a relatively diverse range of ages, ethnicities, and tastes and the same goes for the crowd perhaps due to advertising that is also locally-focused; it doesn't feel so much like some of the similar craft markets held in other boroughs, but has a less-pretentious, very neighborhoodly Queens vibe. It seems to, consciously or not, embody Ridgewood quite well rather than attempting to replicate an outside aesthetic in this old neighborhood. Hopefully it becomes even more diverse and representative of the neighborhood as the event evolves. The best part is seeing so many people at Gottscheer Hall for a public event during daytime hours, as well as being able to get eggs and other brunchtime foods they don't normally serve.
