I went earlier this week and checked the store out just to make sure it was open. Yesterday, I actually went in to shop. It's a new store so obviously it was clean. The manager Lisa came up to people trying to find out where people are coming from trying to get to know her customer base which was cool. Later I had to interact with her again for my niece and she's so sweet. Anastasia is the one that helped us at the register and she was cool too. I will frequent this store not because it's the closest to me but I liked the vibe of the staff. So if you didn't know now you know, Ulta is in New Hyde Park where Parth City used to be.

The item I wanted was out of stock so I tried to order it online at the counter. She proceeded to tell me you can only make an online purchase with a credit card for some reason, and not a debit card. which is werid but FINE, however, she proceeded to look at my card like it was some foreign object and tell me she was shocked. I was even able to make other at other stores..mind you it's just a regular debit card. She was super rude and unhelpful, and even when other employees came to ask herself, she was really dismissive. The store is too new for already to be annoyed and unhelpful employees. I wish I would've gotten her name, but by the way, the employees would come to her she seem like the manager. Either way it's a decent Ulta and it's pretty big but I wish there was more workers around. It seemed like there was no one to help. Hopefully she just had a bad day and isn't always this rude.

Ceaser was 40min late to my 11am appointment I had made 2 days earlier (he was late for personal…read morereasons), he also cut my 1 hour appointment down to a half hour and he helped 4 other women while I was sitting in the chair because he was the only one there due to staffing issues. Shame on Bloomingdales for not being better prepared for the possibility of staff being out - I made an appointment - at the very least I should have been called and told that not only would 1 staff member be out another had an emergency and also couldn't be there. Also, there is also no excuse not to at least tell me there would be several interruptions, I would have rescheduled. The one star is for Ceaser who at least was pleasant and nice enough. The low star review is for how horrible the situation was - I felt rushed and repeatedly interrupted, the experience was terrible. There are so many brands out there to try, I would not recommend Mac, the product is just ok... I have read other reviews for Bloomingdales & Macy's locations and this is not the first time a customer has been treated like this. Shame on Bloomingdale's ...I waited for 20min because one of the employees gave me misinformation that he was just running late - to only come back to me a second time and say he was going to be another half hour but there is no guarantee!!!??? So I left and he called me to come back after 40min! Seems like these appointments are just possibilities- maybe they will show up? Maybe help you uninterrupted, maybe not??? Never again, terrible lesson learned.

The rep. showed me about 10 brushes. These brushes are much softer than the ELF brushes but more expensive unfortunately. I ended up buying five brushes-. Foundation brush, a cheekbone brush, a bronzer brush & 2 brushes for the eyes. I will be returning the 2 eye brushes. The ones I have from Trish McEvoy are much better. I had a great time shopping at MAC Walt Whitman mall. Sometimes you have to shop in person.

I wanted a change for my baby shower coming up, as I haven't colored my hair in over a year. Jay was beyond helpful and really knowledgeable about all the products. I was concerned about the safety and fumes of harsh dyes (being 7 months pregnant) so he recommended a less-harsh brand for me, helped me pick out a color and gave me options for permanence and explained how to use everything. He made recommendations but never pushed anything which I appreciated. Not only am I obsessed with this color (it came out SO beautiful), the fumes were almost non-existent and didn't bother me in the slightest. I've been complimented on the color more times than I can count. It's absolutely gorgeous. I will definitely be coming back here for my beauty supply needs and questions from now on!
