What I got was a tiny run of the mill bland Argentinian "steak" that was about as thin as lunch meat, unseasoned. No seasoned mashed, regular fries and a tired side salad. I took one bite, left it all. Gross. NOT Outback. Will not be back, and be warned this is a cheap parilla pretending to be Outback. $25 (you can find a better "steak for under $10 anywhere in BA).

So let's check the boxes for the review: Service: - first impression was that there is a problem in communication between the owner and the ppl working there. We had a reservation, but since the final check was via phone it seemed they didn't get the name right. So my gf was first there and she told them the reservation on my name, they couldn't find it and I stead of helping they showed her the door. That's a no go. So I stormed in when I arrived and clarified it also with phone logs. So that wasn't a good start. - the restaurant was full and clearly they couldn't keep up with getting orders, serving drinks, serving food and cleaning. Let's say everything took more time than expected. I understand that maybe one more waiter is not in the budget but still they should read the room and see who waits how long. - when more friends arrived they were asked if they would eat something, but in a way that suggests them that it wouldn't be welcome if they want, they still did. Now to the interesting part, the thing we all go into restaurants. Food: - the meat was really good. They didn't really hit the desired cook level but still top meat and quite authentic (as much as you can replicate it here) - the dessert also way better than expected. And we were able to try something new they are trying. Amazing. - it wasn't out of this world but still one of the best in the price range. On the other hand: - the house wine was OK to drink, but that's kinda it. I mean sure they have other good wine but house wine shouldn't be the cheapest, it represents the restaurant. - we also found pisco sour, and as peruvian "experts" we were excited to try. What they gave us was so far from what it should be, a big disappointment. So in the end, yes go for the food, but the experience needs to be improved drastically.

The reason was fantastic, which is that he grills the steaks slow and low, some for five hours. He had some steaks in the works, so we could come in. Our group was five, including a child. We had three steaks. 1. Australian rump. 2. Australian rib eye. 3. Irish rib eye. Harry came over to the table about four times during our two hours there. He first introduced himself, then explained how he ended up in this business and where the steaks come from. He came over to check on how the meal was going. Just the absolute best steak dinner we / I have ever had. It cost a pretty penny, but I'm thrilled we did it. All three steaks prepared medium rare I would say. After WWII, a lot of Germans moved to Argentina. Argentina is known for its steakhouses. Some of these Germans moved back to Germany. Hence the connection. Ambiance (4/5): Buffalo has both a small patio in front of the restaurant and a good number of seating inside. I prefer al fresco dining in Europe but inside made for a good choice at this elegant restaurant. White tablecloths and nice decor always help. The seating is a little cramped and there isn't A/C, but this is common for Europe. Service (2/5): This one was a bit surprising. We were seated promptly. The service throughout was attentive, especially by European standards. Efficient but not overly friendly. When I asked for the bill, I gave them cash. The waiter never brought my change back. Let's keep a couple of things in mind here. In Europe, unlike the States, one to two Euros is a typical tip. And it's not standard. This is because waiters get paid more in Europe than the U.S. so they don't rely on tips. The change that I was supposed to receive was close to four Euros. I was planning to give a tip initially but I was taken aback that the waiter would assume I was giving him a large tip by European standards without asking. Never in my life has something like this happened to me. It's standard procedure to give the customer their change unless they say not to. From there, it is their option to decide how much of the change, if any, to leave as a tip. A sour end to an excellent dining experience. Drinks (4/5): Buffalo has a full bar, including an extensive wine list. Since it's an Argentinian steakhouse, I was looking for a Malbec. One, it pairs well with steak. Two, it's Argentinian. And three, it's one of my favorite types of wine. They only had two Malbecs on the menu. The one I selected was a hit. Food (5/5): When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Since I was at a steakhouse, I went with the sirloin, medium rare, with a loaded baked potato. In the U.S., when you get a loaded baked potato, it typically comes with butter, sour cream, and bacon. Sometimes cheese. Here, it comes with a lot of sour cream and some chives. I also tried some of the tenderloin and corn on the cob. Everything was beyond delicious. My steak was cooked just right. It was juicy. The sides were fantastic. A perfect meal. It won't come cheap but it's quality. I was a bit bummed my the service mishap, but overall, I had an excellent meal.

I ordered the smallest ribeye steak with baked potato, pepsi-cola light, crepe argentina and coffee. The steak was cooked perfect "medium", but the steak did not have much flavor (being that it's Argentine steakhouse). After adding some crushed black pepper and salt from the table, it tasted much better. The meat was tender but had a bit too much fat on it, so I had to constantly cut pieces around it. For my money, Maredo could be better average. Steaks were cooked to the right temperatures, even after we performed the linguistic gymnastics to accurately described what we wanted. The was a nice selection of side dishes and these were also at least average. The cuts of meat were plentiful and had a good balance of meat vs. fat even though they were not aged. Where Maredo disappoints is seasoning heir meat. I couldn't even detect as much as a pinch of kosher salt nor a single grinder twist of pepper. Just nothing to make the meat "pop". The other let down for me was dessert. I had been in Germany for two weeks and this was my last dinner before coming home. This was the first time I saw apple strudel on a menu so decided to go for it. What I received was something soggy and doughy that tasted and felt like it was fresh out of a microwave. Two bites and I was done, left the rest on the plate. If the chef decides to make a stop in the spices aisle of the local market and pick up some basis spices and they manage to get some fresh strudel, I could see the stars just flowing in. It would be worth at least one more from this reviewer.
