Microwaved nachos is worse than pizza next day
    Léo Y.

Yet another disappointment from yelp community in Wiesbaden. I had very high hopes after reading some reviews here. We ordered: Beef nachos, which was submerged in thick coat of cheese and terribly soggy and rubbery chips most likely due to long microwave cooking. On the menu it promised oven baked, but came on scolding hot plate with cheese caked on it. Microwaved cheese and meat let out some oil, and overall it was like salty cheese dish than nacho chips. Burrito, was also exactly the same aituation as nachos, microwaved cooking making the tortillas hard and rubbery. We couldnt taste any of the ingredients imside, only the cheese which tastes way too salty after few bites. The argentinian beef schnitzel was bland, and the egg on top also had zero seasoning. Probably tastes better if you deep fry a frozen super market schnitzel at home. The eat tasted frozen for a while, though we expected some nice argentinian beef. Salad, was good only for the first bite, afterwords, you find out that the salad was drenched in super oily dressing, and after all the cheese, oily foods, the salad isnt appetizing. The free side dishes of butter biscuits that came with garlic mayo and chili oil was very good and seemed like this place was promising. Oddly the salad came with potato chips, probably because they ran out of pommes french fries. Not much variety on their wine card that you can get by the glass, but wine selections were nice. Overall I give 2 star for friendliness of staff, but would not return or recommend.

As always delicious food great service wonderful ambiance. Today I had Anchucho Muxto ....great potatoes where so well seasoned and salad side was perfect accompaniment. The Argentinian Malbec was smooth and complimented the meal well.

It was cooked as a true medium rare is in the United States - a thick stripe of red through the center. This piece of meat was the size of a baseball and tasted amazing. In my 61 years of life, I will say that this was in the top 2% of all steaks I've ever had. My wife, who likes the occasional steak, who, over the last 25 years I have coached down from hard medium well (ruined) steaks to medium-medium rare steaks ordered a 200g filet cooked medium well upon the servers advice. She described it as unbelievable and it was cooked to a perfect juicy pink. The salad that comes with the steak is offered with a yogurt or other type of dressing... I don't eat dressing so I chose neither and they brought out a vial of olive oil and another of balsamic vinegar in case I wanted something different. I didn't but my wife wished she could have had that. We ordered a baked potato to share... it was cooked just right. Each meal also came with two slices of garlic toast. The service was exceptional and the price was incredibly low. I had tap water to drink, my wife had sparkling water and a glass of wine - the tab was 78 Euros I believe. This photo is of my 300g steak. Magnificent experience.

Called last minute for dinner, spoke to the owner Harry. He said we could come in, but…read moretraditionally he asks customers to make reservations. The reason was fantastic, which is that he grills the steaks slow and low, some for five hours. He had some steaks in the works, so we could come in. Our group was five, including a child. We had three steaks. 1. Australian rump. 2. Australian rib eye. 3. Irish rib eye. Harry came over to the table about four times during our two hours there. He first introduced himself, then explained how he ended up in this business and where the steaks come from. He came over to check on how the meal was going. Just the absolute best steak dinner we / I have ever had. It cost a pretty penny, but I'm thrilled we did it. All three steaks prepared medium rare I would say. We had some starters, and only one side, which was sweet potato fries.

Chacarero Steakhouse delivers the kind of meal that makes you stop mid‑bite and say, "Okay... this…read moreis really good." From the moment you walk in, the warm lighting and relaxed atmosphere set the tone for a great night out, and the staff keeps that energy going with attentive, genuinely friendly service. The star of the show is absolutely the steak. Perfectly seasoned, beautifully grilled, and served exactly at the temperature requested; it's the kind of quality you usually only find at high‑end steakhouses. The sides are just as impressive: fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The chimichurri deserves its own shout‑out; it's bright, bold, and elevates everything it touches. Drinks are well‑crafted, portions are generous without being over the top, and the pacing of the meal feels thoughtful rather than rushed. It's the kind of place that works equally well for a date night, a celebration, or just treating yourself to a seriously good dinner. If you're anywhere near Kaiserslautern and craving a great steakhouse experience, Chacarero is absolutely worth the visit. I'd come back in a heartbeat.
