This is specifically great for the summertime and kids just to have a sweet treat.and adults will not be left out because you have to taste it and make sure it's amazing as everyone says it is. The only complaint will be there too big to finish and one sitting. At least for me. Period. These are not sure carnival funnel cakes so be prepared to be blown away. For example, they're open occasionally on Sundays. The specialty funnel cakes are $12. The half and half (half strawberry cheesecake and half Oreo) pictured here is $13. They accept cash and cards (there may be an extra fee to use a card). The funnel cakes are freshly made to order. I really enjoyed the cold cheesecake on top of my warm funnel cake. It was a great combo. My husband enjoyed his Oreo half. One funnel cake is plenty to split between 2 people. Note: there isn't a place to sit near the truck to enjoy your cakes. I just ate mine outside of my car because I'm a messy eater :)

I had wanted to grab a quesadilla from another local truck... when I got there and placed an order…read morethe wait said 30 minutes, I was way too hungry for that. Frantically I pulled out my phone and found El Gordis right down the road in the parking lot of a BP gas station at the intersection of Tennessee and Reading. I pulled up way too damn hungry, distraught, trying to figure out if I wanted a torta or a burrito or just like 16 different things. I ordered in a panic, and ended up with a steak torta. Payment via cash or cash app, no cards accepted. It was a delicious decision. What I got from the owner was probably one of the best Mexican meals I've had in this city, and that torta was a solid meal in and of itself. Piled HIGH with meat, two different types of cheeses, damn near a whole avocado, fresh jalapenos, home made salsa, lettuce, pico, and a grilled jalapeno and onion on the side for good measure. It was probably one of the most ridiculously large things I've eaten, and at $12 it was worth every single penny. While he was cooking I chatted with the owner, they're open until 9pm every night except Sunday but he's talking about opening until late on the weekends (like 1 am), because he apparently does good business in the evening. He marinates and makes all of his meat (including chorizo), bakes his own bread, dices his own tomatoes, it's all his handy work making this little truck work. And the results are well worth it.

as my quest for the best burrito in Cincinnati continues I include my recent trip to the tacos…read morelocos food truck. Haven't heard read and seen all kinds of fantastic things I had high hopes for what they would deliver. Food up and ordered a steak burrito the Saturday before Father's day, they were running a Father's day special where you also got a free order of nachos with any order. I told them I wasn't a father and it wasn't even Father's day and they still wanted to give me free food. That's a definite plus to start! I also made a mistake when ordering my burrito and forgot to ask them to put the sour cream on the side, after I told them they said they already made it but would remake my burrito for me if I wanted, which is another big plus. Good quality customer service. so far things are looking pretty good for tacos locos, and whenever I got home the burrito look great. headset on the flat top and got in a little bit of crispiness, the cheese and probably melted all in there, they even pre-sliced it down the middle. I dug in... It wasn't amazing. It was definitely good, v steak was plentiful, and the cheese had definitely melted. However it was all kind of in with one corner of the burrito roll so it all melted into a clump. The beans inside were extremely rich, but also thin. I was absolutely happy with the purchase, and see it as a solid option. But not the best burrito in Cincinnati. Free nachos, by the way, were loaded up and solid as well.

I finally returned to Tacos Locos after quite a while. I tried to find the food truck a month ago…read moreand it was no longer at the BP station. Finally found them across the street in a parking lot just a bit further south on Montgomery Road. They are set back further than before but still visible with quite a few parking spots. I was sad that they were out of shrimp for shrimp tacos, but it was late in the day. So I went with chicken tacos. Love that they still use two corn tortillas for each taco. Each had plenty of filling and the traditional onion and cilantro with lime wedges on the side. Also enjoy the slices of fresh cucumber to munch on. I tried a quesadilla for the first time. Went with a combo of mushroom and spinach. It was good. Not sure if I'll order it again though. It doesn't travel well. So it sat in the container while I drove home, and it got a bit soggy on the bottom. Still tasty though. I also ordered a side of refried beans and chips. The chips come with salsa that I don't use. I dip the chips in the beans and enjoy them that way :). The chips could have been fresher, but overall it was a good meal.

Decided to visit again with my parents in town. Chips and salsa were complementary immediately, and the salsa had a nice kick. I was feeling a bit famished, so I ordered the Taco Loco: Deep-fried tortilla with grilled chicken, beef, shrimp, mushrooms, and tomatoes over rice topped with cheese. If that doesn't make your mouth water, I don't know what will. It was absolutely delicious. Flavorful meats, sauteed mushrooms, and the cheese was out of this world.
