This great little food truck has frequented an area nearby for lunch recently so I just had to try it out. I ordered the Philly steak chipotle and added mushrooms. I got a side order of lemon pepper fries as well. The staff was very nice and the service was prompt. I loved the flavor of the fries and they were perfectly crisp. Oh wow! Don't know where to begin with AJ's Cheesesteaks. My Mr and I have been wanting to check this food truck out for months. Every time we wanted to drop by, its closed but got lucky this time. And besides with the situation we're in right now, I'd rather support small businesses like these that deserve it. AJ's is currently located in Montgomery rd. On the BP parking lot. They serve Philly Cheesesteak served so many ways fried or original, and even hot (chipotle) (not a beef eater? You can sub for chicken), Wings, and fries/waffle fries. My Mr and I got the Philly Cheesesteak with shoestring fries. Mine was the original with provolone cheese (you can choose from provolone cheese, American or cheez whiz) and his was the supreme (banana peppers, onions, and mushrooms). Okay... the last time I had a cheesesteak is from Penn station. This place kicks ass. It's not greasy, meat is super tender, seasoned just right and all around well balanced. The bread is even fresh! Ecstatic that we found this place! It's so good! That bacon added an extra fabulous flavor to the sandwich. There are many variations plus they have deep fried options. Those fruits are crisp and tasty. It's good for take out. The paper will keep the sandwich and the bread intact for an hour. Everything is cooked right there fresh and hot. Doordarsh it if you want. This place was recommended to us when we stopped at the Cheesecakery. My wife and I both LOVE cheesesteak sandwiches, but I was not a huge fan of this one. First of all... there is no option to add lettuce, tomato, mayo, or mustard, if that is something you like. We ordered two cheesesteak sandwiches and waffle fries. The waffle fries have a seasoning on them that remind me of honey bbq. I initially liked them... but it's a lot with the sandwich flavor and it honestly got old really fast. The sandwiches come on delicious bread and have a lot of cheese (I'm assuming American from the strong flavor). The sandwich itself was pretty greasy and left us both wishing that we went somewhere else. This is a food truck! Keep that in mind if you are needing to use the restroom or anything. There is a gas station next to it... but the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. The guy serving the food was very friendly and outgoing! He ranted and raved about the cheesesteak sandwiches while we were ordering and suggested adding cheese to our fries, which we never received. I'd never had a cheesesteak with bacon in it before and decided to try it. I didn't care for the bacon. The sandwich wasn't bad, the bread was soft and authentic and the steak was seasoned well but the flavor of the bacon threw me off and I didn't finish the sandwich. Stopped at AJ's for the first time on a hot Thursday afternoon around 1pm. We drove 20 minutes just based on the reviews. The trailer was at the BP in Norwood (near the Lateral) that day. There were two people in front of us. My wife had an Original ($8) with American Cheese, and I had a Supreme ($8.50). The owner (I assume) / cook was very friendly, took our order, and told us that he would bring our our food to our car when it was ready. (He takes cards as well as cash.) I walked over to BP to get our drinks since AJ's is food only. All the food was made to order. About 20 minutes after placing our order, our cheesesteaks were ready and brought to our car as promised. (Like I said, there were two orders ahead of us, and there is only one person working, so 20 minutes is understandable.) Since there is no place to eat in the BP lot, we drove to Ault Park and found a picnic table. Although the drive to the park was 12 minutes, the steaks were still very hot. Both steaks were big and very good - some of the best I have had. There was a comment in another review about there being too much bun. There is a lot of bun, but that is due to the size of the bun since there was also plenty of food on the bun. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the 20 minute wait - and the sauce was left off my Supreme. Fortunately, we were not in a hurry, but if you have limited time for lunch, the wait could be a factor. We'll be back. read more

I was gonna take a picture but I ate it all. AJs is by far the best philly in the 513 in my opinion. The bread is soft and warm, the cheese is perfectly melted and the meat is cooked great every time I come. For the sides I recommend AJs fries, super crispy waffle fries but with a hint a sweetness to them..I can't get enough. I finally decided to try the wings this go around and they didn't disappoint also. How am I supossed to choose between wings and a philly?? I guess I'll have to order both! Wiz is usually available as a cheese option in additional to provolone and american. The sandwiches look pretty big but the filling-to-roll ratio in my opinion is a bit out of whack on the bread-heavy side, and for now they dont seem to have an extra meat option. They appear to usually use Amoroso rolls, which are shipped in from Philadelphia. Flavors are solidly good. The most interesting\unique thing on the short menu is a deep fried Philly wrap, which I have not tried yet The folks running this business are extremely friendly and accommodating.
