Stopped by for my first visit while I was in Delano for work earlier this week. Wasn't too familiar with the menu but the girl at the register was friendly and polite and gave me some input. I went for the Chile Verde burrito, I know this place is supposedly famous for it's Tortas but I can't pass on Chile Verde. The burrito was large for sure, it filled me up and I found it to be pretty flavorful. There could have been a little more spice but it was still fine as is. Price was right for what you get, I'm not sure about the Torta but the burrito gets a thumbs up from me. I saw someone at another table with a Torta, it looks small. If you're craving some good tortas or tacos, this is the spot. Their asada is gas and so are the carnitas. Their bread comes from their bakery in Earlimart so it's always fresh and soft, so I recommend getting a tortas. Sadly they don't have super tortas anymore lol. Either you heard about it from the original spot in Earlimart which most people will claim to be the best I'm still happy that there's one closer. La Barca's asada torta is well known within the community. Always usually consistent every time I go. Although they may be known for their tortas, they also have one of the best fish tacos around. Worse customer service of any place period, the girl that works the register ( Saturday 04/20/19 ) had an attitude as if I had walked into her home and asked her for customer service, she must have forgotten she was at work. She made zero effort to make eye contact rolled her eyes when asked a few simple questions and had a general negative demeanor toward my entire family. I will not be returning to this place period!! Order this place for the first time the other night, I've never tried the Delano location and It was just as good as the Earlimart tortas. Granted it's been years but just what I remembered. I was always a fan of La Barca, since their first location in Earlimart. I I finally gave this new one, a try. My mom had a torta, she said was ok, and I had a carne asada sope, from what I tried the meat was very good, although I was hoping the tortilla was more fried, so it wouldn't crumble. Luckily, it wasn't and when it fell apart fall apart.. OUT CAME A BEE!!!!! I told the waitress about my situation, although I understand it's not her fault, all she did was bring the money for the sope to my table, smiled and walked away. Like reallly!????!? The food is taste. I had a carnitas tortas and I loved the flavor of the meat! The red salsa has a great kick and the green is more tame. I saw a photo of the previous business location, and they used to be a bread shop. The torts bread was perfect. I will return. The first couple weeks when they opened the food here was spot on. But lately its a different story. The service has gotten worse over time. It seems every time I order they find a way to screw up. For example, if I ordered a sope with no tomatoes, I'd open it up and see tomatoes. Also the cashiers can be rude at times. As for the food, its always hit or miss for me. I grew up on La Barca in Earlimart. I absolutely loved the tortas, so I was excited about them opening in Delano. Like I said earlier, the first few weeks the food here was great. They literally have the worst customer service ever. My boyfriend and I dined in and we asked if our table can be cleaned so, the cashier gave my boyfriend a wet rag. Ummm... isn't that their job to clean the tables? Not only that, but when I asked if they had guacamole, the cashier made a smart remark.
