Ok food. The location was great, outside right on the water. The server was great, very funny. I had the oysters and they were delicious.

If you like mussels, YOU HAVE TO EAT HERE. These were by far the best and biggest mussels I've had in France, maybe one of the best meals of my life. I ate mussels at three other fancy restaurants in Nice, and the mussels at this restaurant cannot even compare. There are sent from Heaven. I did not want the meal to end and even drank a little of the sauce like soup bc omg ... please try it for yourself and you won't regret it!!! I'll be thinking of this meal for the rest of my life.

We were really hopeful after walking by and seeing the food but ended up disappointed. Although seated right in front facing out we were ignored for 20 minutes and had to flag them down to order. Everybody around us had to as well and if you finally caught their attention they were unpleasant and frustrated. The pasta came out cold and the pizza soupy. We had no forks either and had to flag them down for that too. The pizza wasn't salvageable in general. We couldn't even get their attention to bring us our check, felt very uncomfortable. Keep looking for somewhere else!

A very good seafood restaurant along the east side of the port in Nice, La Barque Bleue offers many seafood and pasta dishes, as well as pizzas. We have been there twice in the last months and each time have gotten the simple grilled fresh fish. They have loup, durade and sole meunière for about 9 or 11 euros per 100 grams. Each time our fish was about 400 to 450 grams. They show you the fish before it is cooked and again after it is cooked and ask you if you want them to filet it. The result is a beautiful white filet that is the sweetest fish you've ever tasted! Along with some pommes frites and a bottle of white wine, you've got a delicious lunch.

For example, me and my homegirl each got our own personal pizza (it was big), and a comically massive bucket of mussels and it was like $30 each. My pizza had burrata and tomatoes and a fresh pesto and the tomato sauce was sooo fresh. Alyssa had a truffle pizza which she really enjoyed. Night 2 we got pasta and I tore the carbonara up! Before my flight home and I had to run it back again for another pizza. The owner was like wtf you're back? Gave me a kiss and some limoncello and I was like yeah yeah yeah I'll see you next time I'm here haha. This place is in an alleyway and is a lot more discrete than some of the other spots but those are the ones with the best food and prices!

We sat outside on the covered and insulated patio. They also had heat lamps, so it felt ok in February outside. Our waitress was pleasant and efficient. My husband ordered the seafood spaghetti which had a light red sauce and seafood including mussels. He really enjoyed it. I had the lightly fried seafood plate. Check my picture for what's on it. The shrimp was slightly over done but still good. The fish and calamari were breaded and seasoned well. I've never had fried sardines (whole body included; I've only had canned sardines in the past) so I wasn't prepared to eat these. I tried it but it wasn't my preference. The salad was nice and fresh. We also enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine. La Voglia was quick and affordable but good.

Located along the main street with shopping and restaurants galore, this Italian, street facing patio restaurant stands out. Two things to note before dining; 1. Everything on the menu is very large portions and 2. Each guest seated must order food. This is a busy area where weights can build up and seats are reserved for those people who will eat and drink. That being said, the food is absolutely outstanding and the two times I've been here they have been very accommodating with large groups without reservations. This is where I fell in love with French rosé and the price point on both food and drinks is a good value. Like I said, you will be taking food with you when you leave if you don't come hungry! I can't wait to return to Nice and when I do, this will definitely be on my list of stops

The only decent dish we had was the pizza, and it wasn't even great. There was a string baked into our bread as well. Service did not match any of the other restaurants around and was not friendly. The restaurant opens at 7pm for dinner and there was a line formed when we arrived around 7:20, very interesting experience for Europe. Living in the US, this restaurant reminds me of a lot of new restaurant group restaurants that just kind of have a system in place. Again, not a bad thing, but not your place if you are looking for something that feels like classic Italy. The portions here are huge, which they are known for. Note that the menu states each person must order an entree, which seems to discourage sharing (since they literally bring you an entire pan). I got the seafood pasta with shrimp and clams in a fresh tomato sauce and my friend got the lasagna. Both were really good dishes and huge portions. We both had a full meal of leftovers for the next day. Not anything I can't get at a good Italian restaurant in the US, but good food. The espresso martini was a good one though!! I think my 3 stars are more about the overall experience here. The food I would give a 4.
