My stylist, Avery, who was amazing by the way, started off with a lavender shoulder and neck massage. Then when washing my hair, she also gave a scalp massage. It was so relaxing and all the stress from being a mom just melted away. I got several inches cut off my hair and Avery was super great about communicating the whole way through the process to make sure I got the cut I was looking for. She had a warm, friendly personality that made you feel right at home and comfortable right away. The salon itself is very cute and clean. I clicked on the "NEW GUESTS" page and entered in all my information. I really like how its set up as a pre-consultation form. Shanna reached out via text to get me scheduled- I was going to see Kaitlyn. Fast forward to my appointment, I was offered a beverage after I was seated (Kombucha... yum.. yes please!) and was greeted by Kaitlyn. We talked a bit about what I had been doing to my hair-- color, products used, etc-- and I showed her a few pictures of what I was wanting to achieve. She told me what her plans were and confirmed with me that everything sounded good. She quoted me a price before starting (which is always nice.. no one likes a surprise bill at the end). The whole experience was relaxing and just what I've needed. Kaitlyn cut my hair-- taking just the right amount off- and styled it in loose waves. I was thrilled with the outcome. She really exceeded my expectations and I left feeling beautiful. If you are looking for a new stylist, you should check out Kaitlyn! For those that think the pricing is too high...you can get cheap and you can get great results... but typically those two things don't come together. When that happened I tried a different stylist at Allure but wasn't totally satisfied. That left me shopping the area for a new salon. Others were just ok. Several weeks ago I called Allure Salon and was pleasantly surprised that Ann is cutting hair again. Yay, I booked an appointment for a shampoo and wet cut. Ann did a fantastic job of massaging my scalp while washing my hair. I showed her a picture of the approximate length and style and told her I just wanted a wash and wear hair style. She got right to work and worked miracles with my overgrown mop. Yay, I'm sold once again on making Ann my stylist. Since she runs the business side of this company she has decreased her time on being a stylist but I perfectly understand not burning the candle at both ends. I know to schedule six weeks in advance to be sure to get on Ann's schedule. Ann is woohoo as good as it gets when cutting and styling hair!

Immediately upon entering the salon, I was impressed with how lovely the decor is. The shop is tucked away in one of the many historical buildings in beautiful Shelby County, Kentucky. Ashley is personable, fun, and never makes you feel weird (even when you are standing there with nothing on!) She makes the experience easy and is very professional. she customizes your tan by applying it herself with what I can best describe as a giant airbrush. She contours your body and makes sure it is perfect, and even dries you herself. her instructions for upkeep are clear and my tan always lasts at least a week, if not more. I can not recommend Ashley highly enough, and er prices really beat out those other chains who don't have such a personal and customized experience. I get tans for events generally, but since going to Ashely I got them more often just because it was worth it and the price was low enough to where I could do that just to help me feel better about the skin I am in!

After reading a 4 Star review on YELP I decided to call and give them a try. I was quoted $23. for…read morea wet cut which is reasonable. Made an appointment for the following day at 11 am with Kristen. Let me preface this review, I hate to make a review on just one negative visit but the whole visit was so bad I feel responsible to inform the YELP public. Star deductions:(minus one for each comment) I arrived at 10:45 for my 11 am appointment and had to wait until 11:30 to be seated in the stylists chair. The employee was still not ready for me as she walked the previous client off for eye brow waxing at another location but instructed me to take a seat. In order to get to the stations chair I had to walk through mounds of previously cut hair as stylist did not even clean up around her station. While waiting I witnessed the previous client check out. She was informed at the cash register that this is a cash only business and was advised to go to a neighboring bank with her debit card to get cash to pay for the services. Stylist asked if I had already washed my hair that day and questioned washing it a second time. I informed her yes it was o.k. to wash a second time as I was wanting a wet cut, isn't a wash included? I came armed with pictures to demonstrate the style and length desired . I also told the stylist features that were of importance to me (no spikes, layered medium short cut, tip of ear showing but length over my natural sideburns, cut that would be low maintenance with my natural wavy hair, etc.) The stylist decided that the haircut I was asking for was not what she recommended. She proceeded to cut the style and length that she thought would look best on me and ignored my request. It was the worst cut of my life and two weeks later I still can't do a thing with my hair. In checking out I knew I came with enough cash to cover my $23. wet cut and a tip. Then came the shocking news, this was not considered a wet cut but was a cut and style at a much inflated fee. It left me scrambling through my purse to pull out my "emergency $20. bill" and all the cash I had on hand. (Let me say, no mousse, hairspray, curling iron, razor, etc. just a cut in done from wet to dry in the style she chose after ignoring the customers request.) Well, that's minus 5 stars but in order to make this review I have to give you at least one star. I hope the owner is aware of what happens when this employee is alone at the shop. It's giving the business a bad reputation!

I had one of the worst haircuts I'd ever had and it was not worth the $32 I paid. I would never go there again. I actually drive all the way to Stonybrook for a cut and I literally live right around the corner from the salon.
