Today I stopped by for a refill on my gel full set and a pedicure. Tina is my nail technician she's super sweet and does a great job. I been looking all over Sterling trying to find a good tech so i was super happy when I found her. They just remodeled so their giving 20%. I've now been going to La Bona for almost 10 years! I still request Mich - and Danny if Mich is not available. Both are wonderful as are all of the women who have taken care of me there. Mich, especially, does an amazing massage which has really helped with my plantar faciitis (getting that calf loosened up). When I had two torn ankle tendons four years ago, Mich was super careful and modified the massage to avoid any accidental twisting of that ankle, until after I had fully healed from surgery. He is professional, friendly, and super good at his job! I will continue to go to Mich for pedicures as long as he is still doing them in this area! read more

What a nice treat! M's mom treated all of us gals in the bridal party to french manicures and pedicures. Upon entering, employees were friendly and hospitable. They gave us party necklaces and a glass of champagne. Since I can't drink alcohol right now, they gave me a can of soda, which was very thoughtful. The salon is clean and organized. Employees are all professional and very attentive to your needs. During the mani and pedi, they briefly massage your hands and feet, which felt amazing. I didn't want them to stop. While you get your pedicure, the massage chairs you sit on also feel excellent on your back. Danny did a wonderful job and made sure I was satisfied with everything. I'm so done with this place! There are sooo many options for nails I will never go back here!! When I lived in Sterling I went there often but stopped because they always over charged or did a crappy job. Today I decided to give them another try because I haven't really found another place in Ashburn, well I'm sooo disappointed! When I called to schedule an appointment they told me my 13 year old would be $45 for a mani/pedi, we go to check of course they didn't honor that. They had no idea who would say such a thing, the lady who scheduled? They didn't honor the Mother's Day prices they have listed on their Facebook page they just said "no those prices not right"! And worst of all my nails are awful they are a gel manicure and they are sooooo thin you can see through them. The lady just seemed to not know what she was doing! This was my first time here. I am not from the area and in town for a wedding and needed my nails done last minute. I trusted my fellow Yelpers and decided to come here since it seemed clean, new, and decently priced. I had made an appointment for 2pm the day before I went. When I walked in, I could tell the salon was newer. I went on a Saturday so it was packed. The girls at the front desk were very nice and offered me a drink while I was waiting. I was taken back at 2:10, a little late but I did not kind waiting. Marina was my technician and I have mixed feelings about the job she did. She was nice and talked to me a bit, but then realized she was behind schedule and had another appointment at 2:30. Instead of continuing to take her time, she began to rush. Now I don't get manicures very often so for me, coming to the salon is a special occasion. I was disappointed that I wasn't able to enjoy the experience because Marina was rushing to get to her next appointment. I got a gel French manicure and it came out alright (I've had better done). It's been four day and they haven't chipped yet, so that's a plus. Overall, if I was in the area again I might go back on a less busy day and to a different technician. read more

This salon has a great atmosphere. It's open and airy, with very relaxing decor and music. I like that they have 3 TVs with different things on (muted with captions); they had news, cooking, and a movie when I was there. The service is awesome and feels very personalized. I really like that the techs wear white smocks and name tags. I also like that they use an autoclave to sanitize their tools. And it's all at a good price. My only gripe is that I didn't get the color I wanted on my gel manicure. I asked my tech three times if the neutral color I chose was sheer or opaque, because I did not want sheer. I've had this problem in the past, where the gel swatch looks opaque but ends up being sheer. Even after he did the first coat, I said that it looked sheer and I wanted opaque. He reassured me it was not sheer. The end result? You guessed it, sheer. It looks like a very nice, natural French mani, which is good but it's just not what I wanted. I would return if I'm in the area, and I recommend that others come here too. I just need to be assertive about my nail colors. read more

More than once I've driven 30 minutes to get here after making an appointment with someone whose talent I appreciate, only to be told they aren't working. I used to count days till appointments here and have a favorite technician. They do such a meticulous job with manicures but the last two times they insist my pedicure is ready for shoes and I barely walk out door before it's ruined. Either own it's not ready or suck up the price of the quick dry spray I just spent a lot for it to last all of 5min. Even going back to have it touched up is time I have to take out of a busy schedule, I shouldn't have to schedule two trips every time. It's incredibly infuriating especially given the fact they are weirdly pushy about telling every customer to tip cash if they have it while watching you write the tip. I usually tip well but it really leaves a gross taste and makes me question going back or sending folks here. Kinda tanks the whole experience, and it's weird/pushy to be schooled on gratuity by the person you are giving it to. If it's that important to you tell people ahead of time, make a sign and provide an ATM, or raise prices - don't make your customers feel awkward. read more

I did my nails at this place ( La Bona nails care ) and my nails were bad from the first day. I had to go home file them because the job so bad. The lady who work on my nails said she had done this job for many years. I seriously doubt that! My pedicure was as bad as my nails!! I had to have to nails done a week later because the piece of colors broke off since the lady did 6 coat of colors but never remove the cuticle. My daughter got charged 48 dollars for her nails!!! Just got a pedicure and super happy! Not only do my feet look awesome, but for $25 I got a pedicure that included an awesome leg massage and paraffin wax treatment. But most of all, I was impressed that they have sanitized tools in a package that they open for each customer, and disposable tub liners, which exactly what I've been looking for. Did I mention it was only $25? The massage chairs were best I've ever used, and (I know how this is going to sound, but....) everyone spoke English. They were super nice, and no one was distracted by being on the phone or talking to each other while they were working on me. Also, they offered additional treatments, but weren't pushy about it. Saw good reviews on Yelp so decided to check it out. Usually go to Avalon next to Wegmans but the last time I had to wait almost 45 minutes and the owner kept telling me 10 more minutes after every 10 minutes which got me quite peeved. Anyways so decided to look for an alternative and found this on yelp. Gotta say, this is by far the best mani-pedi I have ever had. The young lady who took care of me was Onhe (sp?, pronounced as One) and true to her name she is the One :-) ! The whole process took almost an hour and half total and was extremely relaxing. Very professional too, all tools came from a sanitized wrapper and the tubs had disposable liners, love that. All that and was cheaper than any other place I have been to. Needless to say this is going to be my regular mani-pedi joint with none other than the Onhe (sp?). They actually just opened a few weeks ago so everything is brand-new clean, spic and span. Also the specialists they have hired seem to be top notch (I can certainly speak for Onhe). I just hope that they continue to keep their standards high because when a place starts becoming popular and busy things start going downhill. Hopefully that doesn't happen to this place because it is going to be really difficult to find some other place that is so good, especially after getting used to such a hygienic and professional environment. I love La Bona! They are right up the street from my house and everyone is very friendly. I used to walk-in and just go with whoever was available until I found someone I really liked. I request Tony now, when I go for my Pedicure. He is so funny and he is very attentive. I also like Linda as well, she is very gentle with the pedicure. This spa is VERY clean and the front desk staff are very polite. I will began going here to get my manicures as well. I plan to try each and every pedicure spa treatment on the menu! I have tried four of them and so far my favorite was the herbal pedicure! It is a bit expensive when you compare them to other nail salons in the area, but I truly go for the experience and customer service and to leave knowing that I will not have to worry about any sanitary issues with my nails or skin once I leave. I told them that I didn't understand why i was being charged for something that they didn't do right in the first place. I then demanded my money back but they said they couldn't do that.
