However, the waiter who brought us our dishes was not. He was brusque and after we had just ordered a cappuccino, we sneezed on his hands without wearing a mask (he was the only worker in the restaurant not wearing one) and didn't wash them. We canceled the cappuccino and he seemed surprised. We tried to explain why to the hostess and she didn't want to hear it. A very mixed experience.

The decor are really well done and they contribute to create a cozy atmosphere. You can see the kitchen and the chefs working from the min dining room, a thing I always enjoy. I ordered the Spaghetti with garlic, olive oil and shrimps: they were really good. But the best thing I ate were the eggplant with tomatoes and mashed potatoes. Oh my god that way sublime. It tastes super good, couldn't have enough. The fresh bread and breadsticks were incredible as well, such a nice flavor. That was the first time I ate in this place, and it sure won't be the last.

Made with local amorone wine, The risotto was cooked to the proper level and it had good flavor. That was literally the only good thing about this meal. We ordered the house red which was warm and terrible. For the love of God, keep your red wines at the proper chilled temperature. The lady ordered the lasagna. It was probably the worst dish we had in Italy. It came out lukewarm, the pasta was mushy as it had been overcooked, and it just lacked proper flavor. The worst part is after we paid the bill and we're walking back to the hotel, the lasagna struck again and the lady had to double time it back to the hotel and the toilet. Terrible food poisoning. This is off the list.

Since I was not able to narrow down the options to just a single dish, my friend and I shared the donkey pasta and the Amarone risotto. Both dishes were absolutely incredible. Anybody visiting Verona must try to the risotto since Amarone is the big wine from the region--though it was quite rich, it was the best risotto I have ever had. I was really excited to try donkey for the first time and the pasta did not disappoint, it was cooked perfectly and the flavors were incredibly tasty. All of the prices were very fair; in fact, they were actually on the cheaper side of what we encountered in Italy. First course, a big pile of a pasta called "bigolini" which I've not seen before. It is like thick spaghetti with a rough surface. That is needed because the sauce on it was quite thick and another interesting taste - nettles. Definitely different. Second course, risotto made with a red wine reduction. For our anti pasta course we went with the cured meat trio with polenta. The meats weren't particularly good and combined with the bland polenta it just wasn't a good combo. For our primi pasta course we had the bigoli in a horse (yes horse) bolognese sauce. Of our three dishes this was the best. For our main meat course with did horse cheeks braised in an Amarone wine sauce with polenta. I didn't like the polenta any better on our second dish and the cheek just didn't do it for me. I ended up leaving the bulk of the dish uneaten. All in all-maybe I just ordered poorly but I if I ever make it back to Verona this spot will be a pass for me.
