    Pasta filled with ricotta: great!
    Hu K.

This was an unexpected surprise and great restaurant we found for dinner. Try the house wine as it's cheap and very good. The seasonal special, zucchini flower filled with cheese was a bit disappointment so I wouldn't recommend. Spaghetti with clams was the best! If you like cheese, get the crepe filled with cheese dish. Much more reasonably priced than other known restaurant but you get great food here. Desert: Tiramisu is the best as we tried a few. Highly recommended.

This is a super cute intimate restaurant. I knew it would be good when the locals were there for lunch. The food is reasonably priced. We had a pasta special and a pasta dish on the menu. The Capri salad was the best I've ever had. Not only were the tomatoes fresh but they were very flavorful. This is a must!

    Red wine and cheese risotto

Family of three ate here last night and we were extremely happy with our meals! The house red wine by the glass was excellent. We had octopus & polenta for an appetizer. It was flavorful and very tender. For meals we had the wine & cheese risotto which was unique and rich in flavor, plus two different gnocchi dishes - black gnocchi with seafood and gnocchi with pesto. The gnocchi was light and fluffy, not overly dense as it sometimes is. Overall a high recommendation from my family for this restaurant that is only a few blocks off from Piazza Bra. One note - we arrived early, just as they opened, and had no trouble with seating. If you will come later, might want a reservation as it was very busy by the time we left.

    Pork with black truffle-delicious!!

This is the most amazing restaurant! We loved everything that we ate! The zucchini blossoms were so good too. They were thoughtful to divide them on 3 plates so we each got our own. Caprese Salad was amazing. The pasta was yummy too but the pork with black truffles was sooooo good! Highly recommend!! Hope to go back soon!!

Found this place, tucked away, when touring the Castle area. Amazing home-made pastas, excellent service, and fun outdoor, communal seating. One of our favorite discoveries for fine food & delicious pasta in Verona. The stuffed zucchini flowers are a must. The homemade pasta Special included mushrooms & truffles...outstanding! Be sure to ask about their daily specials. My husband's seafood pasta was equally fresh & scrumptious. Extensive, reasonably priced menu, nice wine list & cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Highly, highly recommend!

Our food tour stopped in here where we enjoyed some delicious primi platti (first course) meals…read more The interior is a beautiful restaurant with lots of light and exposed stone walls. It was quiet when we arrived at noon and then filled up quite a lot by the time we departed. Clearly, a restaurant for the locals. First course, a big pile of a pasta called "bigolini" which I've not seen before. It is like thick spaghetti with a rough surface. That is needed because the sauce on it was quite thick and another interesting taste - nettles. Definitely different. Second course, risotto made with a red wine reduction. Very flavorful and rich and the pasta was perfectly al dente. We'll definitely need to return to here for dinner! [Review 16980 overall - 185 in Italy - 496 of 2022.]

It's a little farther out from the touristy…read morecenter near the arena in Verona which was evident in the fact we seemed to be the only English speaking diners in the place. The restaurant is very cute (free WiFi) and homey feeling with an exposed brick interior and interesting decoration choices throughout the space. If you're so inclined there's also and outdoor patio area. Maybe we just ordered poor menu items but the food was underwhelming and not particularly standout. For our anti pasta course we went with the cured meat trio with polenta. The meats weren't particularly good and combined with the bland polenta it just wasn't a good combo. For our primi pasta course we had the bigoli in a horse (yes horse) bolognese sauce. Of our three dishes this was the best. For our main meat course with did horse cheeks braised in an Amarone wine sauce with polenta. I didn't like the polenta any better on our second dish and the cheek just didn't do it for me. I ended up leaving the bulk of the dish uneaten. All in all-maybe I just ordered poorly but I if I ever make it back to Verona this spot will be a pass for me.

While it follows the form of apertivo, primi, segundi, dolci, this is not traditional Italian cuisine but what I've seen termed as "Italian contemporary cuisine." That means world class, innovative food. And we loved it. Simone Ferrigno, the manager, greeted us when we arrived and seated us at an elegantly laid out table. We ordered wine and our food, and the show began with beautiful dish after beautiful dish. And fabulous wines. We chatted with the German couple at the next table who had ordered the vegan tasting menu and they were in heaven. Alas I cannot for the life of me find the receipt with the names of the dishes we ordered. If I find it, I'll update my review. I'll just say this, exquisite food, world-class service in a beautiful ambience. After we had paid our bill (thank goodness the dollar is up relative to the Euro) and we started walking away, Simone ran after us to ask how our experience was and to thank us for our patronage. Note: A reservation is essential at L'Evangelista. I just noticed that Yelp has two Euro symbols to indicate the price is moderate. I'd actually give it four Euro symbols. L'Evangelista is not for you if you're on a tight a budget.
