After walking through the store and the rows of wooden barrels from floor to ceiling, you find yourself in a small area with a big bar. The event price includes one cocktail of your choice. I chose the Oh Peachy and later purchased a pecan old-fashioned; both were delicious! Unfortunately, the food truck broke down, so there was no food available!! Big Mike was performing in the big lodge room; the acoustics are pretty bad, especially once people start talking, but at least it was cool in there, We spent a lot of time in the store and ended up purchasing a fused bottle of whiskey to split. It was fun, deciding which cork stopper to get to add to my daughter's collection. The store has different sizes and shapes of a wooden court display boards; in the shape of Texas. We left on time to be 15 min early but hit a lot of traffic spots on our drive there, so to be on the safer side just leave room to be 30 minutes early if you live more than 30 min away. The website says there's a 15 min grace period but we arrived at 3:05 and almost missed the tour. They have a spacious reception area with restrooms for you to hang out & purchase drinks, so it's time well spent if you're early. The tour itself was incredibly informative and interesting. Sometimes learning can be a bore, but our guide made it interactive and fun. My only warning to those looking to come for the wine tour is not to expect a California wine country experience. We were able to sample 4 wines total, which were all very good, but the pours were TINY. Altogether you will have one glass of wine between the four samples you get. I also think the time of arrival matters when it comes to the animals, as they weren't very active so we just saw a lot of laying/sleeping beasts lol. Usually patrons are able to at least feed and get pictures with their giraffes, but the female was in heat & the main man was more concerned with staying close to her than grazing. The little wine cellar is really pretty and cozy, but don't come looking for bottles under $10 -- you're looking at $15 and up. And it's for the best, of course! I found some really lovely and not-so-common bottles of cab that I can't wait to buy more of. Nice sized walk-in cooler/beer cave/whatever you want to call it that has a pretty stellar variety for such a tiny store. The staff is great.
