Food was outstanding from start to finish, and the service was impeccable. The restaurant is small but cozy, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. We started with the complimentary bread, and the butter served with it was so delicious I wanted to buy some--unfortunately, they don't sell it. For appetizers, my husband ordered the French onion soup, and I chose the escargot. He thoroughly enjoyed the soup. The escargot was enjoyable, though not my personal favorite. I especially liked the foie gras pâté, which was rich, creamy, and flavorful. For the mains, my husband had the beef tenderloin with cognac-black peppercorn sauce and thin French fries. He said the steak was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was exceptional. I ordered the duck breast, which was tender, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. We had a pretty solid overall experience and a great time at Saint Emilion. The restaurant is reservation only so plan accordingly. We spent about 2 hours enjoying the offerings of the restaurant. They advertise a minimum of $59 per guest, but unless you frugally navigate the menu and order water I would plan to spend $100-150 per diner to get the full experience . Location: the restaurant is in a very small cottage style "house", which was PERFECT. It had so much character and really was a unique dining experience. We loved the restaurant - and had zero issues with parking. Food (and wine): the food was very good and honestly you get a lot of it. We did French onion soup, scallops, tartare, steak frites, duck, the included salad, and two desserts. Everything was genuinely very well prepared. The only thing we did not enjoy were the scallops, they were seared on one side and honestly just seemed underdone - but we're not scallop experts by any means so take that with a grain of salt. Everything else was very very good. I would highly recommend the steak frites and the duck. We will 100% come back just for the food alone. We let our waitress and the wine expert guide us with a tailored wine paring with each grouping of our dishes. This experience was very well executed - and don't skip the wine room, take a look. Service: the service was good, not amazing. The staff to table ratio felt overwhelmingly in favor of the staff, but the service didn't necessarily directly reflect that. We were celebrating a birthday which was articulated in our reservation but unfortunately that was overlooked but happily accommodated when mentioned. This was prime time on a Saturday and we were in no hurry, so not really a major impact for us. Someone who was a stickler for perfect service on a rather expensive meal might say otherwise. This restaurant is so cute and charming outside and inside! It is, of course, pricey, but I'm more amenable to that for a small local business. We went for our anniversary and got complementary sparkling wine, which was very nice, I've heard if you call ahead they might even do more, but didn't think to do that. Because of the price, I don't think it's something we'd necessarily do again, or at least not for a long while, just because I like to vary up where we go when can afford something like this for a special occasion. I definitely think it's worth a visit for anyone looking to do something unique for a birthday/anniversary/etc., because I haven't been to many French restaurants. This is more of a personal taste thing, but a lot of the things with cheese (like the appetizer we got which was sort of a fondue) were so very rich and strong that I couldn't eat much of it. The steak frites was a solid option, the pasta was very good but nothing so special I must have again. Perhaps this is silly, but the bread and butter might have been my favorite thing there because it was some of the best I've ever had. Because nothing was else so impactful that I felt I must go back for it, I'm not sure if we will come again due to the price and distance from us, but that's not a slight on the restaurant, I'm still happy to have tried it! The restaurant is very unique and fun to walk into. The servers were all very pleasant. We started with the escargot and it wasn't anywhere near what I'd expected (2/5). My wife had the tartar and neither of us were fans and we generally love that dish. It was the coleslaw topping that made me not like it personally (1/5). The best of the first course was the French onion soup (3/5). If we went again, I would have gotten the veal ravioli, it looked fantastic. For the main, I had the veal and it was superb (5/5). Safe to say I was blown away by our entire dinner experience at Saint-Emilion! This restaurant is now one of my top favorites in the DFW area. Everything from the scallops to the french onion soup, steak frites, and veal dishes were cooked to absolute perfection! To top it off, we shared a sweet lemon cake that is currently not on their official dessert menu. Shout out to Amber, the sommelier, for offering a nicely paired red wine from her wine room. The price fixed meal had add in costs that drove the price even higher. Had an amazing dinner at Saint Emilion. Getting a reservation was easy and seamless. We ordered the potage du jour which was chicken noodle soup as well as the beef tartare and both were delicious. For the meal we ordered the steak frites and it was absolutely amazing. There are no pics of these because we ate them as soon as we got them. For dessert we ordered a crème brûlée and mousse and also enjoyed both. When dining here it truly feels like having a dinner in France. It is quaint, clean, and very home-like. So the exterior and interior decor of the restaurant are adorable, I love the French house vibe and also our service was great. We got sat immediately, given water and a menu. I ordered a cocktail, I didn't like it so I decided on wine instead. To start, I had the beef tartare which I get at a lot of places it was served with chips and tasted so vinegary, like sauerkraut not meat, never had that flavor with that dish before and it was not for me. My husband had the French onion soup which was sweet onion but really good and we split the escargot and it was just OK, a little salty but not much flavor other than garlic . For entrees I had the Dover sole which was good, the side of rice was strange tasting though and my husband had the veal which was served with veggies and a gravy like a stew , by far the best dish of the night. As a Fort Worth native I've passed by Saint-Emilion's for years. My friends and I finally stopped in, this was their second time going and my first. But, this will not be my last. Ambiance: Saint-Emilion's is tucked into a quiet neighborhood, at a glance it looks like a cute house. With that, the inside was quaint! The kitchen was immediately to the right as you enter, the dining room to the left. From our table we could see into the kitchen and into the wine room. The dining room had a few tables and spaced decently for the smaller space. We were close to others but not too close as to easedrop. All the linens, plates, and silverware were immaculate as well. The lighting was soft, this might be an issue if you need a little extra light to read the menu. Service: Our server (Jay, I believe is her name) was very attentive and assisted with recommendations. As this is an elevated dining experience the courses came out slower than your normal sit down restaurant. Also, at 6:30pm on a Saturday the dining room was completely full. This is also a contributing factor to the time between courses. If you have great company this will not be an issue at all! Food: I've included pictures of my food but I will be speaking on a dish or two I did not get a picture of! Tartare De Boeuf- as someone who adores a good beef tartare this was one of the best I've had hands down. The truffle chips were seasoned perfectly and crispy, the perfect vessel for this tartare. Blanquette De Vue- This beef bourguignon was incredibly tender, I didnt need my knife to eat this dish. The Veal was flavorful and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. Creme Brulee- I might be overly critical as Creme Brulee is my favorite desert. The dish came out warm and the custard was delicious. The caramelized sugar on top wasnt too thick or thin, everyone at the table raved about the dish. It was very good in my opinion! Oysters- On the seasonal menu there was an option for 3 oysters, which fit our party size perfectly. We had never had Oysters before and enjoyed trying this new experience together. With my limited Oyster experience it was good! This review was longer than anticipated but for the care and attention to detail Saint-Emilion puts into their experience I do think it warrants a lengthy review. TLDR, just reserve a table and go. The food was amazing, the wine pairing was delightful, and the staff was great. Went there for an intimate birthday dinner. Not a lot of tables but it was such a place. The atmosphere was great. The only drawback is if you are sitting next to a loud table. Everyone will hear the conversations. My first time there but it will not be the last. I was impressed with the wine selection and the knowledge of the staff on pairing wine with dinner. We decided to go with a bottle of wine and we were not disappointed. The team kept the glasses full and the table neat. The house bread was delicious, had to stop eating the bread to make room for dinner and a dessert. The Duck and the Fillet were awesome, and the desserts were delicious. very cozy restaurant! Took my wife here for her birthday and made reservations online. from the service to the food, everything was great! I really enjoy the fact they have a prefixed menu, that allows you to stick to the most popular items on the menu and overall keep it simple. We ended up getting escargot, and it was a nice snack. The bread they give you was nice to use to soak up the garlic flavor from the snails. The wife ended up getting french onion soup and duck. I ended up getting beef tartare and steak and fries (this was 10 dollars extra). I was shocked to see beef tartare was part of the selections for prefixed. but definitely not complaining. i love the mayo that comes with the fries. If you haven't tried european mayo with fries, you're missing out. The meal also comes with salad and cheese. you can ask them to bring the salad/cheese before the meal. Otherwise it comes after the main entrée. As for wine, they don't have a lot to select from for glass pour. However, they did have a table in the middle of the restaurant you can walk up to and select your own bottle... which i found kinda cool/interesting. We came in for our anniversary. When we ordered our food, we were offered a wine pairing. The girl told us to go to another room to order our wine. When we got there the sommelier asked what bottle we were ordering which is frustrating because we expected a pairing. We were over half way done with our meals before our server returned. I asked her about the wine pairing for our main course. She panicked and brought some white wine for my wife. I had told her when we ordered the pairing that white wine was not preferred. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate mousse. The mouse was delivered to the table next to us. The man told the server and the server notified the person who delivered the dessert. He tried to turn around and set it on our table but the server stopped him and nudged him to go to the kitchen. Less than one minute later he set the dessert on our table. I told him I would prefer a dessert that was not on someone else's table. He said "of course". We then waited 5 minutes for another mousse but I was unsure if i was just given the same one because I had already lost trust in the waitstaff. For a meal that cost nearly $300 for two people I was extremely disappointed in the waitstaff. Not nitpick, but the kitchen was open and one of the cooks was wearing a baseball hat. Unprofessional. I gave 3 stars because the food was very good. The service was abysmal. read more

I found out about this place because I attend the school right behind it and I'm a part of the community garden literally right next door and it always smells so good when I'm watering my garden next door so I had to go! Some dishes are an acquired taste but overall quality whether you like French food or not is really good. Really great experience to have as French cuisine and eating customs are quite different where they put salad as last rather than first. Only complaint is that the host/cashier lady took a very long time to come to us to pay as she went to others around us first. Also I'm not sure if it was smokey inside or what but my eyes felt watery and made me blink often. We had the escargot, mushroom soup (alcohol flavor if you like that), duck, beef tartar, lamb. This was a first time for us in terms of a proper French cuisine so if you're new to this, keep an open mind! A beautiful quaint, cozy, little place. The feel is romantic, the decor is rustic; and the place is charming. There are about 12 tables situated in one room, and you can observe the cooks as they prepare the food. The cuisine was exquisite: I had the duck, and my husband had the bordelaise filet. They were both 5/5-perfectly cooked. His meal came with some of the best French fries I've ever had. My husband and I came for my birthday dinner as well as a celebration because I am pregnant. At first, our server was kind, but when I received my entree, I had to tell her that it was severely undercooked and essentially raw. Instead of apologizing, or apologizing on behalf of the kitchen, she proceeded to say, "For your awareness, next time tell me when I come to your table earlier." My husband and I were dumbfounded because she only came once when the dishes were served and I had not even cut into my lamb chops. So, he point wasn't even valid as she never came back by until it was time to collect my husbands plate... And then she said they could throw my plate back "on the grill." I had stated multiple times I was pregnant and cannot have undercooked food. So serving me a warm meal, then throwing it back on the grill after it's became cold, was just disgusting for me to hear. I wasn't expecting anything from the event, I was even embarrassed to bring up that the meal was undercooked. I have NEVER sent a plate back in my life! My husband asked if the entree could be cut from the ticket since I didn't even take a single bite from how raw it was, and they took $10 off our $140 meal ticket. My husband took me to this fabulous bistro for my birthday in early January. Such a charming, cozy atmosphere... As a start, I had a side car, my mother's favorite cocktail. For years I had to tell the bartenders how to make it. This one was perfection, needing no instruction from me. We did the prix fixe menu and both loved the French onion soup and the delicious bread. Ondine suggested a wonderful wine to accompany our steak frites. I must have been swooning by then since I don't remember our dessert, only that it was part of a perfect evening. We loved the food and the wine. It's a small and quaint restaurant. If you're looking authentic French food this is the place. Service was excellent! My only complaint is that we had to cancel after the cancellation period and they charged us $50 per person (we were five in the group). We had a medical emergency and they still charged it, which was pretty alarming. Luckily, the manager credited us the cancellation fee and we put it towards the bill.
