Have to give a shout out especially after my last visit here. They finally have margaritas (I think they've had them for a while but have seen no advertisement or announcement on them). Decided to give them another try since they have margaritas now. Seated promptly, server was very attentive and explained the drink situation and sizes. Ordered the taco supreme and substituted refried beans instead of rice. Food was delicious, margarita was delicious and the new bar in the back looks great! Finally won't have to drive to Jackson for good Mexican foos and margaritas! Everyone was so nice! Several servers spoke to me and the main person checked on me as well. The foods are always good and fresh. No matter what we get, tacos, burritos, soup, quesadillas, grilled chicken, nachos..... Always good. The cheese dip, salsas, bean, rice is good. Always slaps! read more

We called in a to go order. When we got the order home it was still hot. The orders are kept in insulated containers so they don't get cold till you get there. This has to be one of the best Mexican places I have ever had. Awesome pico!! read more

I love La Carreta! It's so nice to have good Mexican food in Medina and not have to go to Jackson!! It's also right off Highway 45 and so easy to access. Their cheese dip is delicious! I love the Pollo Felix. It's chicken and rice smothered in cheese dip!! Whoo.. it's so good. The chicken is cooked well and not rubbery like lots of Mexican restaurants I've been to. Their chimichangas and fajitas are great too. The salsa is good and spicy. The staff here are always friendly and attentive. Their call ahead and order is on point. Really more like 2.5 stars. The good. Portion sizes large, attentive waitress and salsa with tortillas had a bit more heat than many Mexican restaurants. The not so good. No margaritas and fajitas lacked flavor. Some salt. Or just "something". They were fine when doctored up with guacamole and sour cream but plain they were just flavorless. First time here and its just below average. I got the stake Mexicano and the T-Bone was thinner then the ones at Waffle House. The peppers and onions were good tho. My wife got the stake and shrimp fajitas and the shrimp were way over cooked, but her pepper and onions were good as well. Don't think I will come back. Oh Waitress was really good. read more

I come here every time I get a chance to visit back home (I live in South Dakota now). The Hispanic food up north pales in comparison. I wish I could eat their chips and salsa every single day. The prices are perfect. The Molcajete Mexicano, my personal favorite, gives more food than you can finish in one sitting. For what you get for $14 here is a $30 dish up north that tastes nothing close! Seriously my favorite Hispanic restaurant ever. read more

This is absolutely the best Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. The chips are great. The cheese dip is fantastic. My favorite dish is the pollo fundido. Special made marinated chicken with onions and peppers on top smothered with melted cheese. A must try. The service is always unbeatable. Almost never have to wait and if you do it's 5 minutes tops. You can get in and out very quickly and be completely satisfied. read more

Food is delicious hence the 2 stares. However if you like take out you better go somewhere else. First you will notice that even though you order the same thing every time the price will vary depending on who's at the cash register. Second, rarely will the order be correct. Usually tortilla shells are missing or in my case last night the cheese dip we ordered was not there. However there was an extra cup of salsa ( for what that's worth). So in summary i would say La Carrreta has an excellent cook but the management is very sub-par. I'm done with take out there but may dine in. read more
