Enchilada combo with beef chicken and cheese

We were seated very quickly and our server brought water and chips quickly. Chips were hot, salsa was bland and not good at all. We ordered and food came out super quick (but they weren't overly busy). It was very bland and not flavorful at all.

we came here after a long day of biking and swimming at Lake Summersville. We have a TON of Mexican restaurants in NYC. NONE of them compare to La Carretta. The food was excellent. I had the tacos-chicken was delicious- not too salty( as most restaurants are). My husband has shrimp fajitas. I can't believe how generous the chef was w the shrimp-like 15 on the plate! The margarita was perfect and the beer stayed nice and cold in a beautiful clay mug. service was excellent. manager was efficient, friendly, food came out quickly, I'd highly recommend eating here.

Awesome place, great food, great service. This place has some mixed reviews on here but it was great you won't be disappointed. We had fajitas and enchiladas supreme and both were very good. The place was busy, but we were seated right array and didn't wait long all for drinks or food.

I was confused by all the reviews, some being 5* and others describing different problems. We gave it a shot since it is accross the parking lot from the hotel and we've seen the place being busy. That's how you know some reviews are not honest (the bad ones talking about huge problems) Based on my own experience, everything was perfect, from the moment the owner hosted us, to the service, the food taste, huge selection of dishes and entire vibe. It is a high quality mexican restaurant!

The refried beans are toward liquid and the Rice has little faver. The Sahasa is on the Tomatie taste side.

We found The Burrito Bar in yelp and gave it a shot and think we found a bit of a hidden gem! Located just seconds from the main highway and the main visitor center for the National Park, once you get back into the area where the restaurant is, you would never know it. It is down a little gravel road and nestled in the trees with a bit of a view of the mountains. They had a very large outdoor area, and I think a small indoor area, but I did not actually go inside. Outside there was a bar, lots of tables and chairs and a very large stage for live music! There was a nice mix of sight see-ers, rafting guides, rafting tourists, and was nice to hangout with all and hear some good music. A lot of the guides loved sharing some of their things to see around the area which helped us put some other things on the list of things to do! Food and drink wise was just as good as the experience. They had a very large beer menu, as well as a full service bar with good bartenders. Food wise they had a lot of vegetarian options noted on the menu if you are looking for that but everything tasted very good. I had a pork burrito which was great and also had a bite of a steak quesadilla that was excellent! Nothing super crazy, but all of the food seemed to be real solid. I don't think you could go wrong with your pick! I don't know if we will be back since we were on vacation, but would encourage anyone in the area to give The Burrito Bar a try and have a nice relaxing meal in a cool spot!

My fiancé wanted to order his favorite Jose special. He politely told them that he has a shellfish allergy, so his food should probably not be cooked on the same area of the griddle as the shrimp. The manager proceeded to come out and say, "we cannot do that. I do not recommend you eating anything cooked on the griddle." My fiancé and I were shocked because he had never been denied that before. He was forced to get something that could be cooked in the Wood Brick oven. I then proceeded to ask the manager because I was baffled, "Do you not clean the griddle or are you unable to?" She proceeded to state, "No, they do not understand the concept of allergies." (pointing to her Hispanic workers). I was revolted by her comment, the service, and just how unprofessional she was. I have not eaten there since, nor will you ever catch me eating there unless management changes.

I went to college right across the street from this restaurant a few years ago, and we'd eat here once a week, and before that I'd been eating there with my family for years. This is the only place I've come across who gives you not only great food, but most importantly, enough cheese sauce to make it worth the price, and my favorite part, their salsa. It's a salsa unlike any other. They must clearly make it themselves. It's not like watery liquid with chunks of tomatoes, onions, peppers, etc... no. This is much more. It's like a purée, made from the essence of dreams and good fortune, yet you can clearly taste every ingredient that went into making it. Not spicy, not sweet, not tangy, but perhaps a small mixture of them all? It's the only salsa I could, dare I say it, drink, quite literally. It's simply fabulous. Now, last year they went through a bit of a change, I'm assuming a switch in management and/or ownership, because things started to change a bit. They got new menus, new cooks that made things a little strangely, and the worst part was the new booths. They're so tall that you have to lean down and over your food to eat it. It's terribly awkward. They have one of the old booths left, and us locals know right where it is and always go straight for it. So anyway, the food is still good, not what it used to be but still better than anything else I've tried. The salsa has also changed a little too, it's a little spicier, and has so much cilantro in it I could choke. I definitely miss the good ol' days, but it's still an awesome restaurant, one that we make trips to Montgomery just for. I wish they'd expand to Beckley, and bring back the old salsa.
