    Steak and peppercorn sauce.

After a looooong drive from Paris to Le Mount Saint Michele we were lucky enough to find this place open when the rest of the town was pretty much closed down. The menu was diverse and simple enough for some of the picky eaters in our group and sophisticated enough to satisfy those of us who want a little more than basic. The three course pre-fix was perfect and came at two different price points that were both very good values for the money. Dinner wasn't perfect but it was a good meal at a good value and I wouldn't have any trouble recommending or going back again if I'm in the area.

Delightful find on our way to Mont St. Michel! Good, simple home-cooked food. Homey atmosphere. Friendly, quick service.

No better place to indulge after climbing a bunch of steps and parading through chapels at the Mont.

When we arrived at 8pm, there was no crowd and we for seated immediately. One of the waiters spoke English, and in addition to the menu in French, he was kind enough to give us the English menu as well. We ordered one Chorizo pizza. Service was really fast and pizza was served in no time! It turned out to be good, different from what I've had in US and Italy. They had a sunny side up egg in the middle of the pizza and this was new to me. We ended the meal with a chocolate fondant - a plate of chocolate lava cake with generous chocolate sauce, whipped cream and a scoop of ice cream. Needless to say, this was the hit of the night. Good food and very friendly service. I recommend this restaurant.

I have to say that it was unique to the region and was also very good. My wife and I tried two different pies, one with jambon and another with kebob (aka - lamb). Both were delicious. I think what makes the pizza unique is the creme fraiche sauce. It may be difficult to stomach for those of you who are not used to this type of sauce, but it's tasty nonetheless. Just a note, they don't bother to slice the pizzas so you might want to make sure you have a fork and/or knife handy when you eat.

Things happen but I can't accept the reaction and lack of consideration for clients. Do bother. There are many other place to eat in Aromanches. Bien situé avec un menu correct. Toutefois le service et façon de considérer les clients laisse à desirer. Ce soir j'ai commandé le filet de bœuf Rossini. On m'informe que la cuisson sera saignante et pas autrement. My family shared a salmon platter, a delicious salad, and two buckets of fresh (and young!) mussels in white wine and cream sauce. Bread was complementary and went well with the mussels and fish. The salmon weas smooth and moist, and perfectly, minimally seasoned so I could really appreciate the seafood. The mussels were sweet with a crunch, which I could tell was very fresh. The chicken salad is very different from ones I have at home, with tomatoes, mushrooms, green beans, bell peppers, lettuce, and other greens. It's definitely a large meal for 4 people but we couldn't stop eating until every platter was cleaned out.

They were happy to provide a menu in English for us less than French literate individuals. The staff were freindly and helpful. There was a little wait for a few items, like our drink order. But, overall excellent. Starters: Good, not great. We had the foie gras with rhubarb and Charcuterie. The foie gras had a mixed reaction. Some at the table enjoyed, others felt it lacked the flavors promised in the description. The Charcuterie was fairly standard, two types of sausage, serano ham, and tuna. Mains: we ordered the fish, lamb shank, beef, and fish & chips. The main dishes were the highlights of the meal. Each of them was excellent. My lamb was fall off the bone tender with a rich sauce. The vegitables were mostly squash (likely because they are in season), I would preferred something else. Dessets: Good, not great. We had the waffle with fruit, chocolate mousse, rice pudding, and the cheese board. The mousse and the rice pudding were very well received. However, the waffle and the cheese board were disappointing. The waffle was hard, overcooked or sitting out for too long. The cheese board had three similar cheeses, all of which were very mild (the inclusion of honey was a nice touch). Price: 2 starters, five mains, five desserts, several non-alcoholic drinks, and one cider ran 180 Euros, or 35E each.
