My son is in his second year at La Casa, and we plan to enroll our daughter when she is old enough. The building is clean and beautiful, and the teachers are communicative and caring. They respond promptly to text and email, and post pictures weekly on the closed FB group. I know that as soon as my son steps into the classroom, he will be treated with dignity and kindness. He loves all his teachers and gets so excited to see them - he even wanted to invite them to his birthday party! La Casa does a great job of following the Montessori methods, and I have been impressed by what my son has been learning (and is excited to learn!) - at 3, he is teaching Spanish to US! He has become quite and eager helper at home, too. La Casa is excellent at working with parents on potty training, and is much more flexible than most schools at working with the parents of kids with special needs to make sure they are learning to their full potential. Probably what I love the most is how active the kids are every day. They go for walks and to the park nearly every day, usually twice a day. When the weather isn't cooperating, they play "pelotas" and games inside, and they have Zumba at least once (if not two or three times!) per week, which my son LOVES. They also have options for yoga and additional directed art on top of the regular classroom art (and this all starts at age 2!). The only reason I would not give La Casa 5 stars yet is there is still room to improve in terms of administration. They would benefit from FT rather than PT administrative staff, as the organization can be a bit lacking at times. As a parent, you need to be a bit persistent to get all the information you need at the beginning - but at least the staff is very responsive. My son and our family have made some wonderful friends through this school, and we would recommend it to other families looking for a flexible, full-day, reasonably-priced, Spanish immersion school starting at age 15 months. read more

My son has been working with the owner of the school since he was 2. He is four years old now. My little guy has problems focusing and had a speech delay. Now he is a very happy, talkative little guy who still has problems focusing but is amazing at math, and the other day sat and drew a picture for his grandparents, actually insisting that I help him write "grandma and grandpa." he did a really good job getting those letters. He sounded out the words himself and wrote them. My son has problems sitting still. He was never forced to sit and work, instead, she gave him projects to do and had him do them in small intervals. I have come home to many projects that were created over the course of the day. She works with my son and knows his needs. She is also realistic, my son is able to work on what he likes, and she also pushes him to do things that maybe he doesn't like so much, like letters. At 4 and a half he loves school, happily goes there every day and corrects me when I say a cube is a square. Next year when he turns 5 I am going to have a huge dilemma about where to send him. Academically, he is going to be way ahead of his classmates. Since the way he learns is not typical, he needs to be moving around, I worry about what public school will do to him. He is not used to being forced to sit still. I am seriously considering having him attend Kindergarten and possibly elementary school with this teacher to keep him motivated and learning. We live in Oak Park, and had planned to send him to public school. However are seriously considering the investment. I really encourage people to come check this school out. You will see a diverse group of happy children learning and working. The teachers care about the kids and you will be happy with what you see. read more

I believe you won't be disappointed with the quality of education and true Montessori teaching you will receive from the teachers and staff at the Case Montessori. The teachers, staff and others have put sweat and tears into this school. Our son has improved tremendously with the hard work and dedication from all the teachers and their assistance's. My son is now very expressive and anyone would be surprised that he once had a speech delay which unfortunately happens quite a bit with bilingual children. I highly recommend La Casa Montessori because it approaches learning in way I wish I would have experienced as child. It makes learning fun and adventuresome. It is great to see a school run by teachers instead of individuals who don't have a slightest clue of being a teacher and are focus on the profits. read more

Our two children were at La Casa for a month during the summer this year, and we were so happy with their experience there -- they got to take a circus class, try chess, speak Spanish, create work they were really proud of, meet a wonderful group of kids, and get to know and trust the fantastic instructors there. They got lots of outdoor time and substantial walks to and from nearby playgrounds, and came home with fun stories about friends and teachers (after a tearful first few days, of course). We also saw real growth in how they perceived their own capabilities and responsibilities -- we were totally and happily shocked when our daughter said, for the first time ever, that she needed to tidy up her room before she moved on to her next activity (!). The school is cozy and unfussy, with a big downstairs space for performances and physical play. Our children's classroom was upstairs and filled with light; it had fascinating activities and toys arranged along the walls and in various nooks. In terms of our experience as parents, we were so pleased with the regular communication (photos on a closed Facebook group / emails about class activities / texts when the kids were heading to a park in the afternoon) and felt welcomed immediately. La Casa is well run, caring, and learning-focused in the best way. read more

So thankful to have found this school! The night before my son started, his teacher called to introduce herself and ensure his transition would be smooth. The staff is professional and the children seem happy whenever I go to pick up my son. There are many activities throughout the day to keep the kids actively learning. My child attended this school in 2013 I was so happy that I had found them close to my house did all my homework visited to school and different days and times. I felt that I had made the best decison for my son's education. I could have never imagine what would happen 3 months later. I will never forget the look and my son's face when I walked in to pick him up after school. He was walking with a group of kids along with Gicel the Director to the front of the class when my son's told me that the bad teacher had hurt him. He pulled up his sleeves and showed me nail marks on his arm. Gicel was standing behind me and hear what my child was telling me, she became so nerves and said she had no I idea she was hold his arm so hard and apologies that she would cut her nails. All I could do was start crying bec i had put my son in this so called Monterssori School. A police report was done with Oak Park Police and DCFS was called on La Casa Montessori. Beware Gicel is a very sweet soft spoken women but what she did to my son will never be forgotten. I should have believed my son when he had first told me that the bad teacher was hurting him a couple of weeks before I walked in and saw it for my self. When it came down for her to return my deposit she could't get my name right that how much she cared. Not one call to see how my child was doing. read more

We live in Lakeview and the 2 hour commute each way via train was too much for our son so unfortunately we had to leave La Casa 2 weeks into the school year. Nevertheless we loved our experience at La Casa. Our son was 2.5 years old when he enrolled and found La Casa to be one of the very few bilingual schools that enrolled kids before 3 years old. The director, Giselle is very personable and really cares about each child and their individual's needs. We really appreciated her understanding of us having to leave the school due to commuting issues. We found the teachers to be caring and gentle with the kids. They assisted our son with the toilet since he was not yet toilet trained. We loved the Montessori philosophy and appreciated the daily reports. Each day they went outside. Even though we had a brief experience, we had a positive experience and would recommend this school. read more
