FAVORITE. STORE. EVER. Truly a treasure shop. Ellen and Jim and their family do such a wonderful job curating all the antique/vintage/handmade/thrifted finds that come through here. The inventory changes just about daily (I should know because I come here a few times a week - sometimes 3 days in a row!) and it's honestly such a special place. My fave thing about this place is that they've managed to reach a delicate balance of intrigue + curiosity while keeping it authentic. It's owned by several women who take turns staffing it and all stock it with (mostly) second hand or vintage items. If you are looking for a place to find a truly unique gift, come here. I always seem to find something here for those people in my family that always seem to "have everything." Prices are great. The ladies at the register are always friendly- the stoke is real. We were so excited to find this house/shop! It's a really cute store packed with so many beautiful stuff! I believe most of them are vintage items, but some might be new handmade crafts. The shop looks small from outside, but there's a back yard full of items and also a shed too! Owners/staff are lovely. We ended up getting a framed scrollsewed art and two bracelets. I found this place during an internet search for antiques in San Clemente. It's right off the main street with plenty of city lot or street parking. This is a 30s era Spanish-style home that's been transformed into a creative, cozy dwelling for local artists to showcare their wares. The store successfully mixes and displays such a wide range of items, from unique jewelry and garden accessories to antiques and home decorating pieces. What also pleasantly struck me were the incredibly reasonable prices. If you go and see something you like...buy it! It probably won't be there for long. The people who run the shop also have a fantastic eye for fashioning vignettes to unify themes and maximize impact. If you're in the area and appreciate unique creativity, I recommend setting aside at least an hour to carefully browse this shop. read more

I could get lost in this place for hours! Every little nook and cranny is filled with treasures and I go here to get inspiration for my apartment. If I won the lottery, I'd buy this house, fully furnished and never leave! Overall, everything is reasonably priced and it's a great place to buy a gift for anyone. This place is fantastic. The prices are very reasonable for beautiful, one of a kind vintage finds, or one of a kind pieces by local artists. They also sell Annie Sloan chalk paint, which is awesome. It's in an old adorable Spanish style house just off the main shopping street, Del Mar. Plenty of parking. Each room in the house is full of amazing art, furniture, clothing, jewelry, etc that will probably be gone next week. The customer service was top notch as well. Jane (I think?) was great! I'm not very creative but she had suggestions and ideas galore. I took home some great vintage wallpaper that she suggested I frame instead of hanging the wallpaper with paste so I could reuse it when I move. I live in San Francisco but I can't wait to go back here next time I'm in San Clemente! read more

What an amazing store! I am in love with this place- it is a co-op of artists that all contribute to what is in the store. Everything is so amazing- I am a fan of vintage and they have the appeal that gets me. Super friendly, easy going shopping atmosphere, no sales pressure! Also, the best thing about this place- I always find something I have to have- Every time I go , which is like every other day, they have new items and THEY HAVE LAYAWAY!!!! The best- there is no set timeline or down payment- pay what you can when you can so you are sure to get what you love! I love this shop. I spent a long time there browsing the different rooms and the outdoor section. It is full of interesting, eclectic items that appeal to me. I love the old kitchen in the house itself. What a respite from the usual musty, crowded little shops with overzealous attendants that follow you around incessantly. The feeling is tranquil and peaceful, especially outdoors. Apparently, it is a multi-user facility so the vendors take turns manning the shop. This may explain some of the negative reviews. I have been there several times and always felt happy when I left. read more

I'd like to give La Casa Verde de Granada 3 stars or even 4 (because the shop is unique and because I prefer to give positive reviews)... However, since my experience was so unpleasant that I will not be returning -and have shared my sad experience with others- a review of more than 1 star would not be an accurate representation. I put an item on layaway...an item I've sought after for years without finding the perfect one or one I could afford. I was so excited that I photographed the item and showed the picture to everyone I knew. Less than a week later I received a phone call from Jim at La Casa Verde de Granada. They had sold my item to someone else. I'm not sure what the real story is, because it was changed a few times during the phone conversation. Version 1: He thought I had called to pick it up and so had brought it back to the store (after removing it from the sales floor). Well, I didn't call and who else would know it existed if it had been removed from the sales floor? I'm not sure... Version 2: Someone claiming or thought to be my sister came in to pick it up. (Huh? What?) Version 3: There was confusion over multiple people placing this item on layaway and one of them came to pick up the item before I did. (Hmmmm...) I was told that sometimes this happens and not much can be done about it. Trying to maintain my composure and not break into tears, I suggested a system to prevent this from happening in the future and was told that, "With 7 different people working each day of the week, it is unavoidable." Fortunately shopping at La Casa Verde de Granada IS avoidable. We are all imperfect humans in an imperfect world. Other people seem to have lovely experiences at this shop. I wish no ill will. But, for me, there are many places that value customers and service them with integrity. I will continue to do business with these places. read more

I love this place, 5 stars!!!! They have super cool unique pieces. The store is inside and outside and has a little cottage in the back too! There so much to explore! :) they have fair prices and are willing to deliver for free if your local. HELL YEAH! I've probably spent close to $1,000 in the last 6 months and I could have easily spent triple. They have great customer service and I want to say that it's family owned! Also, follow them on Instagram @lacasaverdestore they post frequently and if you see anything you like they'll put it on hold for you until you can make it in! It's like online shopping :) read more
