Restaurant is beautiful. Food was OK. Price was OK for a burrito with avocado inside of it. They put the avocado on the outside of the burrito server. Never asked how we were doing after paying for the bill. The server never said bye. And the server made a comment about the avocado not being in there and instead of taking the plate back he told me well maybe next time. read more

Came to La Casita for a team lunch and ordered the chili verde burrito and some sides of their hottest salsa, their lunch prices are really reasonable and the food was really tasty! I ended up ordering another burrito to go to bring back for my husband who also really enjoyed it. Coming from Texas, I am always craving tex-mex style food. So far, this is the closest I have found in the twin cities. Obviously there are places with more authentic Mexican food, but this has the closest taste to tex-mex that I can find! I love that they actually give you free chips and salsa here, which isn't common in Minnesota. I got the rancheros last time and it was great! Service is always really nice as well. It's simple, never again. I will say the service was good. We were seated rather quickly and it was quite busy. The restaurant inside is well kept and clean. It is loud inside due to the music and conversations. Now let's get to the food. They bring you a basket a chips and a salsa to start. Chips were super thin and tasted like plastic. The salsa must be canned or bottled but it was gross. We ordered fajitas and a chimichanga. And while the shrimp (protein I chose) was well seasoned, the beans were super salty and the veggies were over done. The chimichanga was decent. Some of the menu options were odd. Being a transplant from Texas I can appreciate the Tex mex options on the menu considering the twin cities is basically a desert for Tex mex options unfortunately. Last time I was here I got the grilled chicken topped with queso and chorizo and it was quite tasty and not too salty in my opinion. Service was also prompt and there is plenty of seating I would have a hard time imagining there ever being a wait. My favorite thing here honestly is the complimentary chips and salsa. That is probably what I miss the most about Mexican restaurants from Texas because so many places here charge for chips and salsa. My wife and I love this restaurant for chips and salsa with margaritas when we're in Roseville, and the rest of the food is excellent too. My go-to order is the Baja tacos, which always have perfectly cooked steak and delicious salsa verde. My wife usually ventures around to different options on the menu, but has never been disappointed. I have never left hungry. Especially when they're busy during peak hours, service can be a bit slow, but that makes for good conversation opportunity. I would absolutely recommend this as a casual date spot. I find the prices are very reasonable as well, which is refreshing in this day and age. I only wished I lived closer so we could go more often. read more

Haven't been to La Casita for many years. It was just as good as we remembered it. When we got to the parking lot, we were worried that we would have a long wait as there were only a couple of open parking spots. However, we were seated immediately. Loved the decor, it was very inviting and makes you happy to be there. It took the server a little while to get to our table, but once he came over, the service was excellent throughout the entire meals. The chips, salsa, and queso were all very good. Two of us ordered the Carne Asada, one ordered the Baja tacos, and the other the Pollo Fundido. I was there for lunch almost immediately when they opened. My complimentary chips and salsa were brought out right away. The chips were warm which was nice. I ordered the chicken fundito no beans. I haven't been to this space in over 10 years when it was a different restaurant. It was nice to see this space used properly and with La Casita in it. The menu is huge! It's hard to narrow down what sounds good when you have so many options. Girls night and we ordered margaritas (I had the prickly pear on the rocks). They were tasty and the prickly pear added a sweetness that I was surprised I liked so much. I would recommend for anyone that likes a sweeter style drink. We got the complimentary chips and salsa. Order the queso cheese! It's good. I had the chicken fajitas and they had a little different flavor that I really enjoyed. It tasted like they added some fresh dill. They have a few vegetarian options but I decided to go with the garden burrito and a side chili relleno (sub the sauce for verde because the original isn't vegetarian). They were both fine but not great. The seasoned sour cream in the burrito was very overpowering and took away from the rest of the dish. My mom got the ultimate margarita and a combo with a chili relleno, taco and enchilada. She really liked everything she had. They also start off by giving you complimentary chips and salsa and we got some blanco queso. The chips were good but the salsa was a little smoky tasting and the queso was just so so. We were nervous because the parking lot was super full and it was tough finding a parking spot. When we walked in the decor was amazing and there was a huge fountain right in the lobby. I would not have expected the decor to be so well done based on the outside. Even though they seemed busy, we were seated quickly and the service was very friendly. I would say this is ideal for families and less date nite atmosphere, but still fun for a casual easy dinner for my husband and I. LOCATION/PARKING: really big parking lot, but was tough to find a spot. Needed to circle the parking lot twice. Don't let the parking fool you, because there are a ton of seats inside. They are used to big crowds. FOOD/DRINKS: highly recommend the steak fajitas. Food was delicious and they allowed for modifications on different items. This was always my Mexican go-to restaurant. I was there with out if stayed guests last evening. We arrived around 6. There were diners there but dinner rush was in its beginning stage. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. The food came out approximately 15 min or so after ordering. Unfortunately, the food was lukewarm at best. Someone in our party ordered fajitas. The fajitas had plenty of onions but only 4-5 green pepper slices. Following our meal, someone who looked like the manager was near our table. One of us flagged him to come over, and asked/verified that he was the manager. We conveyed that while we were not asking for compensation, we wanted to let them know that the food wasn't hot (not any of it) and figured he might want to be aware of it. Rather than express any appreciation of feedback or offer any apology, he made excuses that they had gotten busy (told him we were there before dinner rish), and then pivoted to "they had gotten behind in the kitchen" (told him our food had come out fairly quickly). He really didn't know what to say after that, but an apology or expression of appreciation for the feedback apparently didn't come to mind. Besides all of this, the food is not as good as it used to be. I went from feeling excited to eating there again, to "never again". I felt embarrassed that I had recommended eating there. Oh, and even the chips were room temperature and really average. I guess that maybe that should have been my first clue. This place has been a hidden gem for me! Usually I don't crave or go out of my way for Mexican or Tex-Mex food but you will definitely be finding me sipping margaritas with some complementary chips and salsa here! The only thing I feel is missing here is some patio seating. My first time having food from here was via DoorDash due to covid but now that I'm vaccinated and feel safer to dine in restaurants again I knew this had to be one of the first places I checked out and I'm so glad I did. All staff are still wearing masks and every other table is still closed due to covid which I appreciated. The food is affordable and the staff are so friendly. Midday delight! We came in for a late lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. We were promptly seated at booth in the front of the restaurant and drinks were brought out right away. I felt like a margarita so I tried the mango jalapeño flavor. To my surprise it was a jumbo size with lots of flavor and the perfect amount of spice. For an entree I had the chicken chimichanga, sub black beans. While we waited for our entrees we received complimentary chops and salsa. The chips nor salsa were my favorite. The entree came out and it was a very large lunch portion, the green chilé sauce had more of a brown color and there wasn't much cheese on top, the inside was very flavorful. The black beans were perfection but unfortunately the rice wasn't cooked all the way. My aunt had the same order but with a queso blanco topping and all rice. I tried this for the first time after craving Mexican food. The food was decent. I didn't care so much for the salsa, it had a strong roasted pepper type of taste. The chips & salsa play a huge role for me when eating a Mexican restaurant because I love my chips & salsa. Their queso is okay, it doesn't have too much flavor. I got the chicken fajita's which were good. The tortilla's are good and they claim to make everything homemade in house. So I appreciate that. The chicken fajita's comes in nice big strips. The rice is good too. My bf got a queso chicken blanco burrito which he liked, they put queso on the top (unfortunately I forgot to get a photo of it). The server was good too and checked in on us frequently. I ordered a strawberry daiquiri which tasted like water, thankfully the server took it back. Oh and the fried ice cream is some of the best I've ever had. They don't use cornflakes and instead of vanilla ice cream they use cinnamon. This adds a good amount of flavor. A typical Tex Mex restaurant with alright cocktails and food selection. I appreciated that they have a Queso and chip bar during their happy hour which is Monday through Friday from 3-6pm. I ordered the Arroz Con Pollo, a dish I have never ordered before. I felt they did a great job at getting flavor into the meat and making it succulent and shreddable with a fork. It came on a bed of rice so for the price, you'll definitely get a good portion. I felt the cocktail list lacked in adventurous margaritas and only had your basic Cuervo based Rita's. I got the blue agave and unfortunately it tasted like straight sugar. Now I admit I've gotten boujie about my cocktails so this marg' might taste spectacular to someone else. Either way, I loved the Queso and you cannot go wrong with chips. The service was efficient and didn't rush you which is a welcomed attitude. I had the 2 item combination with a tamal (I ordered pork), a chile relleno and rice. Although the food wasn't necessarily bad for people who know nothing about Mexican food, for me, a Mexican, it was like eating at Taco Bell. I ignored my cardinal rule about Mexican restaurants- do not eat at Mexican restaurants unless you see Mexicans eating there. I didn't see any Mexicans, so I shouldn't have been surprised that the food was not good. read more
