This place is a hidden gem--do not skip it…read more The restaurant itself is beautiful, with an amazing view, and from the moment we walked in, we felt completely at ease. Everything was spotless, welcoming, and thoughtfully done. It's owned and run by a local husband-and-wife team, and that personal care makes all the difference. We truly felt at home. Ernesto was incredible--knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure our entire family had a great experience. I speak Spanish, but he is also fluent in English, which made everything seamless. The food? Outstanding. My kids ordered the chicken tacos and finished every single bite. I had the tortilla soup, which was easily one of the best I've ever had--rich, comforting, and full of flavor. I also ordered a custom chicken breast stuffed with huitlacoche, and it was absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared. If you're looking for authentic food, excellent service, and a place that actually cares, this is it. Don't fall for the hype of the overcrowded tourist spots--this restaurant is the real deal. Perfect for families and anyone who appreciates amazing food made with heart.

There was no talk of to go boxes. It was all about trying to find room to eat it all. I wanted to try Nopales and the chef made me a special order of just that. We had Huitlacoche- mushroom corn. The place is so beautiful. The seating outside is so colorful and a wonderful breeze. Best is that we supported a local small business. Ernesto and his little son were wonderful. Amazing service with great recommendations. So accommodating to all our requests and bilingual to accommodate everyone in our group.

The prices are elevated as you could imagine for being in such a unique location. We just stopped for a snack and to experience the cave. So got 2 beers an americano, quesadilla and corn cakes with chicken. The quesadillas were made with a Mexican Oaxaca cheese instead the cheddar and Monterey Jack that's found in the states. So it was quite good. The corn cakes were sopes. I know what sopes are but I didn't know they they were translated into corn cakes. That's the problem with translating it into English. We got them with chicken they were also quite good. The corn cake base was tender, I'm used to them being hard and rubbery so it was nice to finally enjoy a sope. Service was prompt and friendly, there was a tablet with English which made it easy. The prices are high but it's the type of place that you go for the experience.

The vanilla pan dulce also tasted a little stale. On the other hand, the fruta mixta was fresh and one of the better parts of the meal. The setting is unique, which makes this place stand out. Eating inside a cave creates a cool atmosphere that you do not get at a typical restaurant. However, the food does not match the price point.

It seemed to be a popular spot for tourist groups because it is a really spacious restaurant with lots of seating. The highlight of the meal were two female dancers, doing traditional Mexican dances. They were so talented and it added a festive touch. The food was pretty unmemorable, but it had something for everyone. There was hot steam trays with eggs, chilaquiles, cafe de olla, lots of fruit, cereals, juices, breads.

This is a spacious restaurant equipped to serve many of the tourists visiting the Pyramids! The interior was simple and sparsely decorated. However, walking to the courtyard/patio area, it was well groomed. I liked the pool with a pyramid waterfall above it, flowing into the pool. The restrooms are located out in this area. We had a wide array of foods during the buffet lunch. There were so many different savory & sweet options, I couldn't even try a little of everything! So sad!! There was soup, fruits, salads, desserts, and all sorts of meat & veggie dishes. A nice smorgasbord!! Our server asked if we wanted something to drink, so we got bottled water and a bottle of soda. We were really thirsty after hiking to the top of the Pyramid! We later found out that those beverages were not included in our lunch with the tour. Hmmm! They had this coffee (which was included) and it was really delicious! It looked like it might have had Chocolate & Cinnamon in it, but I'm not entirely positive about that! It definitely was coffee and not hot chocolate. I enjoyed the fresh quesadillas made on the spot. Due to the language barrier, I couldn't understand what the fillings were. I found a person who could speak a little English and he tried to explain to me what they were. I would have tried each of them had I still been hungry. Unfortunately, I decided to get these tacos after I had tried a little of almost everything else! During our lunch, we were entertained by a couple of dancers and a mariachi band! It was a nice addition to the ambiance!

A fun lunch spot to visit after walking around the ruins and pyramids of Teotihuacan…read more A group of us were excited to try this place given the location and recommendations. We didn't have reservations, but they are quick to accommodate and get you in. It's a bit of a walk down the stairs leading into the cave, but the descent is interesting. They have many servers available and QR code menus with free wifi available. They provide you with chips and two salsas while you wait for your food and drinks. Most servers speak English, which is needed for all the tourists that dine there. The drinks were delicious, pricey, and fun. I got the chapulín margarita, which reminded me of a Bloody Mary. You have to try it at least once. Although, I did like the other drinks more, such as the Jamaica Margarita. The food was tasty and well portioned. I recommend trying their underground oven meals like the birria de borrego (mutton) and mixiote. They give you fresh tortillas and more salsa to accompany the food with. Finally, the servers tell a folklore about the cave origins and give your party a candle to place on one of the cave walls. A really nice touch to the end of the meal. This is the place to check out when im Teotihuacan. You pay for the experience, but it is unforgettable.

The back half of the property was dedicated to a gift shop hawking the same trinkets you'll find at every street vendor outside, just with inflated prices and the pretense of being "made by their own artisans." Don't be fooled. The food was bland and forgettable, exactly what you'd expect when a restaurant knows its customers have nowhere else to go. For the price charged, it's borderline offensive. Service matched the food: disorganized waitstaff, repeated requests ignored, and a wait for the check that felt longer than the meal itself. To top it off, the staff sternly demanding for cash tips, a bold move for service that was lackluster. The atmosphere wasn't any better. Music blared at uncomfortable levels, and unsolicited performers circulated the room with an outstretched hand, expecting tips for the unprompted entertainment. My advice: do not book with Amigo Tours. And if you find yourself stuck on a tour to this restaurant anyway, bring your own snacks and plan to eat somewhere else. Also worth noting, far too much time was wasted here between the gift shop and the restaurant when that time could have been spent actually seeing the sights we came for.
