Had lunch here today. Food is good and plenty of it. Not great just good. Service is prompt and courteous. Had the number 6: chimichanga with beans and rice. Did find the salsa to be bland for a mexican restaurant. Tasted more of tomato puree. 6 dollar lunch. Good for the price. read more

The food here is mediocre good in a pinch. The problem is if you go in with a pretty women(15 &up) the whole staff constantly is staring at her. Including walking by for no reason and the cooks even come out of the kitchen to gawk non stop. With that being said the other location on Cable rd. Is much more professional and the food quality is much better. read more

This is hands down my favorite Mexican place in Lima. Though moving to the Southwest has refined my Mexican palate somewhat, I still think this place delivers a tasty survey of the genre's offerings. I'm a naitive Texan and this hits the spot; for middle of nowhere Lima, OH. The Dos Equis was served in a chilled mug with lime--immediately. Chips and salsa were fresh, though the salsa was tasty, not much kick to it; still very flavorful. I ordered the enchilladas. Not as much "cheese" as you usually get at a typical Mexican restaurant, but that was refreshing. I enjoyed the guacamole--well the first half of the order--the second half was solid avacado--fortunately, I'm a HUGE fan of avacado AND this solidified the fact that it was made fresh to order just for me! A second Dos Equis arrived, again very promptly. Overall, I enjoyed the food. I would have given 4 stars, but the waiter disappeared for a long long long time after I finished my meal and beer, so the service was initially great, but the follow through was a Lot lacking. I stuffed my debit card back in my wallet, shelled out the cash and dashed away (don't worry, I still left 18%!). :) Pretty good for Lima! read more

This is a great place if you want something cheap. Your beer Is served in a frozen glass and your food is served sizzling hot. Their chips and salsa are delicious and the cheese dip is great with the chips. A great place for a quick meals when your in need of a Mexican fix. Although it may not be truly authentic it is still delicious! read more

Better than we expected from the outside. Goes to show that you can't judge a book by its cover, nor a restaurant by its exterior facade. The guacamole was excellent. The portions were generous. This place is probably one of my favorites in Lima. The service is alright, the food is almost authentic. I personally love the pork in green salsa with rice and tortillas. I like to stick with one thing that I know I'll like. My boyfriend is a little more adventurous. The first time we came here he got a seafood chimi type deal that wasn't bad. The next time he got fish tacos which were pretty bad being bland and inadequate. And another time he got the chorri chicken with chorizo which was pretty darn good. We would come back. read more

This place is great! We split a steak and chicken combination fajita. Delicious! Plentiful! The meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The grilled onions, peppers, and tomatoes were delightful. Way better food then the other Lacharreada on 309. Great place for a group night out for dinner. The dishes are made fresh, the service is pretty nice, and the location is nicer in my opinion then the other one. If you have a choice between this location and the one on 309/harding highway, pick this one. read more

Our meal was excellent. I ordered the La Charreada fajitas, and everything was served on a sizzling hot plate within minutes. The fajitas were amazing. The helping was huge. We also ordered the cheese dip (queso dip), which I recommend. My wife ate a quesidilla, and loved her meal too. The margaritas are huge. All of this, and a great price too. I came because of the 4 stars?? Maybe the Margaritas are good, because the food is not. The salsa is thin like a marinara. The guacamole is puréed like baby food. My fajita had hardly any meat, extreme amount of grease, and veggies not sautéed they are very hard. I say skip it. read more

Been told by former employee's that the chips left in your basket when you are done go back in with what will be served to the next customer. Also if you order an item and they make a mistake and you send it back that item will sit until another person orders it. These are not disgruntled employee's either just people who have moved on to bigger and better things. Truly knowing this I do not want to give it one star. Think twice before you dine here. I've been coming to La Charreada for years. It's great! Their chips and salsa are always fresh. I usually get some type of chicken dish for a main meal. Sometimes, the chicken can be a little dry, but usually it's very good. Service is extremely quick, and the servers are always very nice. If you're looking for a good quick meal, this is the place to go. read more
