We went in search of English breakfast places around our hotel. We found this highly rated place. We loved their chocolate filled croissant, that's my favorite. Fried eggs were good, pancake was also crispy and hot. Cafe latte was good too. Overall a satisfactory breakfast.

So far I have only been here during the morning hours when they offer their breakfast special, which is until 11:30am. I have been a regular customer at their Via Gioberti location for some time now, but I have found that this new location way surpasses that of the original. It is almost twice as big and has fantastic natural lighting and is much more spacious. I always take my coffee to the back room that is filled with sky lights. With free wifi I stay here for hours and get work done on my computer or read a magazine. The staff is very friendly and one day I have to come here for lunch. This is a great place to come alone or in groups as they have larger tables up to 8 people (maybe more). As for the breakfast, it's good. Coffe is good, only thing is ... i have found that occasionally their morning pastries are a little stale. It's a hit or miss for me. Sometimes they are great, fresh. And a couple times I think the pastry i chose was possibly a day old... ? didn't taste fresh. Anyways, I still come here regularly for the coffee. Great chill out vibe, fantastic place to hang out if you are waiting for your train, as it is right around the corner from the central station.

We had to try Florentine Streak while we were in Firenze. L Cocotte did not disappoint. We started with a charcuterie board then ordered the La Chianina Steak which came with fries. The steak comes one way, with a range of rare to medium well throughout the plate. We ordered a side of lasagne that came in a plastic covered pot type of "dish." It seemed like something straight out of a box. Other than the flavorless lasagne, everything else was on point.

La Coccote is an absolute gem. They have very light and cafe style foods, lots of soups and salads to choose from. The best part though is the atmosphere! So cute and elegant, yet fun with great music.

Excellent service and delicious food. After eating pastries for breakfast so many days in a row, we were ready for a protein packed "English" breakfast and this place did not disappoint! For around 10€ we had cappuccino, orange juice, eggs l, bacon and toast. Everything was on point - though I do wish the orange juice was fresh and pressed like they do at the Carrefour supermarket down the street. Oh well - the main course and coffee we're in point so we were happy

La Chianina Florentine t bone steak, fries and sautéed spinach

Exceptional!!! This place is a must, we thoroughly enjoyed every bit of our experience at La Cocotte. We had a nice bottle of wine (Barone Ricasoli Chianti), Florentine steak, sautéed spinach, fries and mixed veggies. Service was great and food came out perfectly. We will be back!

From the outside, it looks like a grand, iron-and-glass structure typical of European markets; inside, it opens into a bustling, multi-level space filled with food vendors, communal tables, and constant movement. The vibe is energetic, social, and slightly chaotic in a fun way - perfect for grazing, group dining, or trying multiple cuisines in one visit (from Italian to American to Mexican!). We stopped in for a quick lunch at around 2pm on a Wednesday; there was plenty of seating at high-top tables, and QR codes on paper menus make it easy to explore all the different food vendor options. It's also a fun activity to peruse the market, taking in different sights, smells, and flavors. All of us ended up opting for Schiacciatas (large Italian sandwiches that are a staple in Florence) from Massimiliano Parri, which all ended up ranging from €10-12, depending on toppings - yes, it's more expensive than what you'd get from a traditional schiacciateria, but you're also paying for the market's location and convenience. We appreciated the fact that they shave the meat right in front of you! My schiacciata came with freshly shaved ham atop crusty white bread, slathered with burrata cheese, and sprinkled with arugula and figs (I opted for no additional olive oil, since I found the ham quite rich already). I loved the contrast of textures and flavors, though I will say that the bread ended up cutting the roof of my mouth! All in all, Mercato Centrale is a bit touristy, but still miles better (and cheaper) than most "Italian" sandwich places you'd find in the US (pro tip: save your receipt for free use of their bathrooms). The variety can't be beaten, prices are reasonable for a central market, and it's steps from some of Florence's most iconic spots.

I was obviously skeptical, especially when this place was located pretty far outside of the touristy area and I seemed to be the only one that didn't speak Italian in the place. The waitress could hardly speak English which I totally get and not a bad thing, but just trying to set the scene for y'all. The vibe of the place was Inspector gadget meets a Yardhouse. If you don't know what Yardhouse is, I can't blame you. It's a slightly upscale american bar/burger joint. I got the Perfect Burger, and it was ENORMOUS. Enough to feed a family of 3. Maybe 3 and a half. It was just one step shy of perfect. I was so rattled that I struggled even getting a quality pic of it. That's on me. I would consider this an elite burger back home!!

You're certain to be impressed. So, everyone told me not to eat burgers while traveling in Italy... but, after getting a bit tired of pasta, I did just that--twice! And, both times, I was not let down. One of those burger experiences was at Drogheria--a place that's a bit off the beaten path in Florence but definitely worth walking the extra distance for. For my burger, I tried the Supertuscanaccio (new according to their menu). This burger featured a burger patty as well as mushrooms, proscuitto, and pecorino mugellano cheese... all served on grilled panini-style bread! TASTY! Tony tried the Brunch Burger, which featured scrambled eggs, bacon, and cheese on the burger! He enjoyed his burger just as much as I did. Note that we happened to hit up Drogheria for Sunday Brunch, which I later learned is another thing they're known for besides burgers. Check this place out if you've been in Florence for a while and jonesing for a good burger! You'll definitely be glad you did!
