The filet was also delicious- every bite flavorful and tender. The waiters were comically gruff (an act) but actually attentive and kind. I liked how the clientele seemed to be evenly split between Italians and tourists. Great lively, warm atmosphere.

Portions are suitable for sharing and highly recommend it. The steak was cooked well but the flavor wasn't there as I expected. The outside patio is on a busy Piazza - and not one of the attractive historic ones. We asked if we could change to an inside table (much cuter on the inside with great kitchen smells) - we were told absolutely no even though it never got more than half full on the inside. We were then ignored for about 20 minutes and weren't even offered water. Finally got a teenager for a waiter who spoke passable English (menu is entirely in Italian) but couldn't give us much in the way of translations or recommendations. Our wine order was frowned upon by the owner but didn't offer an alternative ("I don't like that wine") - so why have it on your menu? We shared a pear pasta and lasagna - which were both good - and then ordered 2 large Florentine steaks to share. The steaks were disappointing - a lot of gristle and unevenly cooked - and we had had a fabulous one a week earlier at a Montepulciano restaurant so we knew what it should taste like. We were made to feel so special at multiple restaurants throughout our trip that the entire experience at 4 Leoni was a terrible letdown for all of us. Maybe an off night for them but there were too many negatives.

Like many other reviewers have already noted, the service, experience, be food were all spectacular! We tried making a reservation online, but didn't hear a response for a few hours and decided to walk in at 6 pm since we were already hungry. We figured no one eats this early in Italy so it must be empty! We were correct. The place is small so if possible, make a reservation in advance if you are trying to eat at 8 pm like the rest of the locals. We ordered the 2 person steak for 75€ (it comes with 2 sides). The more expensive option has meat, which is apparently more tasty, but I neither my bfs are fans of fatty meat. We got the steak in medium rare, the server suggests that it is usually cooked rare, but can be done medium rare. It should not be cooked more than that. However, after it comes out, if you are still not satisfied, they can cook it some more for you. The meal also came with complimentary bread (not shown), and an appetizer (meat sauce with bread- sooo delicious!). The steak itself was sooo mouthwatering. Very much worth 75€! The plate is edible, but I didn't eat it sooner I was already stuffed from dinner! We also received complimentary dessert (the cup the dessert sits in is biodegradable! What a plus. No plastic waste). Sooo nice of the staff/restaurant to make the experience very memorable! Our waitress was very kind and came to check on us often.
