Omg loved this bar. As Americans in Italy we just wanted a bar we could have a few drinks in and one eyed jack did not disappoint. The evening we were there, we were the only Americans so don't think this is just where Americans go. I ordered a Cosmo and it was fantastic with a bit of a kick. For my second drink I ordered the Do you speak Italian and umm wow...I think it knocked me off my stool. The bartender warned me in advance but I was up for anything. My friend ordered the Save the Cranberry beer which she said was "pretty legit" and angry bastard which is funny I remember that being a thing in the states... People were playing darts and they had an open area that was great for people watching...unless everyone was outside smoking. Oh and the tv played 90s alternative videos...I got nostalgic over some Nada Surf. read more

Awesome dive-bar in an awesome location. We trekked across the river in Florence and found that it was practically a different city. The servers here are friendly and the bar itself reminds me of Portland, OR back home! Strangely enough, it sounds like the owner is from Seattle so there are Seattle Seahawks things all over the place. Made me feel right at home! I love dive bars. I did not expect to find one this great in Florence, and I haven't had the chance to experience many different bars yet (at all), but I can wholeheartedly say One Eyed Jack has a special place in my heart and I miss it a lot! If I ever return to Florence, I will run there when I get off the plane. Anyway, I studied in Florence for 4 months and this was my home-away-from-apartment. It was right around the corner from where we lived. It's in a cool neighborhood that many tourists fail to explore because it's on the other side of the river. Prices are good, and if you want to meet locals, this is your place. Rock and roll music plays loud and the crowd is predominantly male, scruffy, and, well, very rock and roll (something that is hard to come by in Florence). This bar has a lot of regulars, which should say something in itself. By the end of my 4 months, we knew all the bartenders and were regulars ourselves. Be warned, though, this is a real DIVE BAR. The bathroom(s-when they decide to open the other one) is not clean, nor is the rest of the bar, really. I always had fun here, though. If you like loud rock and sometimes metal - GO TO ONE EYED JACK. The bartenders are also really nice, and speak English. On the sign it says "beer and food," but we never saw food there. I think they have aperitivo one night a week. Happy hour is good too. OH! and best nights are Saturday for sure. Other nights seem to be a little dead. Fridays are good too. read more

Great place, great staff, great music and surprising delicious pub food! Fun little evening spot just off the river in the Otrarno district. When you get tired of wine and pasta, come here for an IPA and a cheeseburger (or hotdog) both were inexpensive and nice for a change of pace or late night snack. My wife and I came here almost every night for at least a drink when we were staying in Florence for a couple weeks last month. read more

This bar has a lot of character and is super fun. The people who work there are as friendly as can be, contradicting the bad ass vibe the bar has. They change out their beer selection really often and will let you taste the IPA's before you pick one. Drinks are 6 euro and beer is 5. Honestly this is my favorite bar in Florence so far, and the neighborhood it's in is really cool. Make sure you get a crazy shot while you're there! read more

This is probably one of my favorite places in Italy!! Not only did it dramatically remind me of my hometown (Seattle, WA), the owner is from there! The burgers there was absolutely delicious. And the bartender and owner was so nice and friendly!! If you're from Seattle, being in there will make you feel right at home (good for those who get homesick). I was in Italy for a month and being here made me less homesick for sure. Drinks are also great! read more

if youre drunk and wandering around florence as i was, make sure to come by here and grad a drink... definitely a dive bar...actually this place is the most "ghetto" joint i went to in all of italy...the whole crowd hanging around here are all made up of locals...the underbelly of florence...rough neck looking crowd that looked real tough and rugged on the outside. located directly across from a gelateria (which is great to sober up after btw), this place is full of energy...has cheap drinks...and is super loud on the inside and out... if you want to "blend in", i suggest you dress in dark clothes...have some visible piercings or tattoos of some sort...or wear some worn doc martins. when in rome? er, florence....lol read more

What a fun dive bar! It felt like I never left USA. Great atmosphere, friendly bartenders and a very interesting crowd. Definitely one that you're not expecting. I can see these biker, punk dudes back in the US, but at Florence? Drinks a good, a little strong and the prices aren't bad. A shot is 3 euro, which is pretty awesome! read more

let me start by saying we are bar people, not club people, and this was the perfect place for us. reasonably priced beer and the bartender made us this crazy shot that definitely looks scary but really isn't so bad. some of our friends were going clubbing the same night and we opted to stay here and had a chill night with some beer and cool people. read more
