Very friendly staff, everything was nice and clean also. Small dining area but comfortable. Bathroom was clean and smelled really good!

Burger La Colombiana

Had Burger La Colombiana it was delicious! Can't wait to try more of their menu. A hidden gem. A clean place full of color. Walked in smelled amazing. The burger was big with ham cheese potato chips sauce and more.

Menu

Just opened two months ago. It's kind of easy to miss in the nondescript small strip mall on busy Westport Ave. Very extensive menu. They have arepas, empanadas, burgers, apps, full plates and so much more. We ordered the Calena burger, the la Venezolana arepa, and milkshake. The arepa was good but overpriced. It was stuffed very generously, but messy to eat as it fell apart immediately. For $11.50 I'd expect a small side with slightly less filling. I'm told the burger was delicious. The fries were seasoned, but a bit too salty and not crunchy enough. The chocolate milkshake was outstanding! It was thick and creamy with tiny Carmel like crystals which was amazing. The space is small but bright, cheerful and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Food is good. Service is ok. Ambiance is ok. Only issue we had was that the only server there didn't speak English.

I was here with my daughters after a full day at the aquarium.. we weren't really hungry but wanted to eat something before our drive home.. It was really busy when we got here(Saturday 3:30ish) there were no tables for us unless we waited 10min. We told her we could sit on the stools facing the street located on side wall bcuz we just wanted drinks and something to munch on. We ordered salchipapas and sweet plantain w smoothies (passion fruit and sourpsop) it was amazing! Smoothies on point. The wait staff was personable. The atmosphere is comfortable, clean, and just overall a good place to grab a yummy Spanish bite. Recommend

This was my case, a gratuity had already been added to the receipt, but when they returned, they handed me the payment tablet with the tip screen open, making it appear as though I still needed to leave a tip. I didn't realize until later that I had tipped twice. If gratuity is being added, it should be clearly disclosed before asking customers to leave another tip. Transparency matters, and this experience left me feeling misled. Losing a customer over an extra $20 wasn't worth it. I won't be returning.

The empanadas are awesome! Great service I haven't eaten in…read morethe restaurant but the takeout for empanadas and arepas are excellent!

I had a breakfast plate, the plantain was not fully cooked, raw in the middle, i pulled out the…read moretortilla and it had blue fuzz, they said on it's from a clean rag from drying the utensils but i had already used the fork previously on a corn meal cake(arepa) so i know it wasn't from the fork or knife and when i went to to take a bite from the tortilla it was hard as a rock so i had to ask for a replacement and i told them i couldnt finish eating my food because it was cold and i didnt mot want my eggs and beans reheated nor did i want to wait for fresh sweet plantains so the waitress said they wouldn't charge for the replacement tortillas. I dont understand why they would charge for replacement tortillas in the first place. When we went to pay, i told them it wasn't right that they were charging for the plate since i couldn't finish eating my food that was cold(eggs and beans), my plantains raw and i left the replacement tortillas which actually came out steaming which is how the first ones should've came out to. The owner just stood there and disnt step in and just looked around and stayed quiet and the waitress didn't bother to get him involved even though he heard everything. This is the 3rd time I've had mishaps but things usually work out and I'm able to eat my food but this time it was not edible and i was disappointed in how everything was handled and the fact that the owner didn't bother to step in and i left very upset that i couldn't eat my breakfast properly. By the time they heat uo the eggs and beans, the tortillas would've gotten cold. Oh and the chorizo was not freshly hot either but it was edible, it was the only thing from the breakfast plate i was able to eat. My mom tried to eat one of the sweet plantains but it was just too raw and she couldn't finish it. Very disappointing. And since i wasn't planning on leaving a review i did mot take a picture of the plate nor the blue fuzz that they claimed was from a "clean rag". In the end, we ended up having to pay for a plate that was 2/3 left. My moms plate was fine but was not hot.

The walls are filled with amazing art to admire while you dine. The restaurant is very clean and it's one of the first things I notice when I sat down. Lots of appetizers/tapas to choose from separated into hot tapas and cold tapas. The Mejillones (mussels) were finger licking good!! We also got the oxtail empanadas. They did not meet my expectation but still good. Lots of paella options to choose from: meat, seafood, classic...etc. We ordered the classic paella and it was delicious!! Full of flavor. One waitress running the show, who I assume to be the owner and she was a pleasure to talk to and quick. There is a lot next door you can park at but it's small. However, the street it's located on has plenty of street parking.

This restaurant immediately came to my mind and we were off! Happy to report it is still what I remembered it to be- wonderful food, great drinks, relaxing atmosphere, and friendly service. I did not take photos of everything we got for the table. One of my favorite appetizers here is the codfish croquettes and they were melt in your mouth good- highly recommend these! We came for paella and went with the classic version..... it definitely hit the spot. The rice was perfectly cooked and crunchy in the right spots. Seafood was cooked beautifully and the spices with the chorizo made it all a balanced and delicious dish. So happy we were able to come back to Paella and we will be back (hopefully) more regularly!
