    The Lomo Saltado

The Lomo Saltado is soo good! Been coming here for about 8 years now with my family :)

Yum. and look at the portion!!! Geez!!!

Absolutely shocked that this neighborhood gem has little reviews. First off, besides the great service and great tasting food - what is absolutely a huuuge force to reckon with is actually the PORTIONS. Holy smokes! The $30 aromas combo features a whole chicken, huge plate of salad, fries and chaufa (fried rice!). But wait- there is more! They also include a liter bottle of soda. Whaaat!!?? This had to be the first point of this review - that is how critical it is!! Peruvian cuisine is very delicious! From the rottiserie flavors in the chicken to variations of the Latin flavors and fusion that also comes from Asia and prob other regions. As a result, it is not easy to master. Having tried many peruvian places across the country- not all can be considered the same. But what holds true for all- is their packed filled profiles in the flavor department. This is a local gem. Patrons are from the area. Carry outs are also busy too. The fried seafood (Jalea) was also huge. They serve medium and large. They also included crabs in their order. Amazing! Next is their fettuccine with pesto sauce. The plate was large because the food size was large. Literally, our two tables did not have enough room for these plates!! Their green sauce is immaculate! A common dipping sauce for everything, it was absolutely not enough even with 2 bowls! Luv it!! Definitely coming back here!!!!!

We had lunch at Aromas (Peruvian cuisine) in Norwalk for the first time. As we walked in it had a nice open space with tables placed alongside the walls and they had salsa music playing in the background. Prices, cleanliness, food and customer service were overall very good. They also serve plenty so come hungry. They serve beer but no cocktails. Their empanadas are gigantic so try those too.

Good prices Nice serving sizes Good customer services. No alcohol license but they allowed us to buy a wine bottle next door and served it during our dinner

    Lomo saltado a lot pobre

Best ceviche and lomo in the area. Just found the place this month and have been there twice. It's delicious and filling. Had to put the food on a plate because it was hard to eat out of the container. Highly recommend it. Also got the empanadas and tres leche, amazing!

This quaint little shop is a Hidden Gem. They offer delicious Peruvian style platters at reasonable prices. I came in for a business lunch. the waitress was pleasant and helpful. I ordered the mixed seafood platter with rice. It was a large plate full of mussels squid shrimp and egg. vegetables were sauteed into the rice. My mouth was doing the happy dance. I would certainly come here again if in the area. The place was clean. Reggaeton playing on the radio. The bathroom situation was weird you need to go through the kitchen to get the bathroom.

While the food was definitely good, I have to dock stars because the utensils that were given to us were used. Yeah, gross. It was one of those pre wrapped ones and when I opened mine, I noticed right away that the knife was dirty. I looked at the fork and same thing. The napkin seemed used as well. So we asked for a new one. Nobody apologized which was odd; Like it's not the first time it has happened. I don't think we'll be going back-

Fresh and authentic food. I can't pronounce most of it, but I sure enjoy it. Never leave without a cup of the Aji sauce!

Great location in the heart of South Norwalk…read more Plenty of street parking, as well as a parking lot behind the building a 4-5 minute walk. I was pleasantly surprised with how affordable this food is! Lots of tapas available and decent sizes. I would even say even al the tapas are a tad bigger than other tapas places. If you do decide to give this place a try, I definitely recommend the Ceviche, fresh and perfect for the summer. They also have a variety of empanadas ham and cheese, chorizo, beef...etc. Make sure to pair it with a pineapple mojito. YUM! Great service. Very clean and we even had a chance to meet the chef.

The food is well presented (usually brought to your table by Raul, the chef/owner), delicious, very reasonable and eclectic. The arepas are amazing, the paella is good, as is the ceviche, tacos, stews and more. Unfortunately the place is struggling admits Raul, who bought the restaurant from the former owner. Raul is Ecuadorian and now his server is Alvaro, a polite, very personable fellow who just turned 21 the night I ate there. I was there for dinner with friends the previous Friday and went back for Thursday, all evening, tapas happy hour which was extensive and excellent; but don't just go for the inexpensive tapas which (will set you back a whole $20), go for a great date night any time, the menu is amazing. I got the Lomo and my husband got the chicken. Both arrived Luke warm. My husband said chicken was dry. The service was good but failed to mention the added 15% tip on the bill. I would have tipped 20% if that fee wasn't there. I added another 3% in cash. The place was really bright with fluorescent lighting and it was not a chill place to have dinner. Unfortunately they missed the mark. Won't be going back.

The food and service were both excellent, and the portions were incredibly generous. We started with the Ceviche Especial, which was absolutely massive -- easily enough for two people. It came loaded with fresh seafood like mussels, clams, squid, fish, and octopus, all marinated perfectly and topped with plenty of red onions. It also came with some cold boiled potatoes, which added a nice balance to the tangy and refreshing flavors. The anticuchos (grilled beef heart) were another highlight. Even though it's listed as an appetizer, the portion was big enough to be a main. The meat was tender and nicely grilled, and it paired amazingly with their ají verde (spicy green sauce). That sauce was so good we ended up eating way too much of the bread just to keep dipping it in. We also ordered yuca frita (fried yuca), which my son loved -- crispy on the outside and soft inside. My personal favorite was the tallarín verde con bistec. The pasta was tossed in a rich basil-spinach pesto, and the steak was thin, juicy, and cooked just right -- medium rare. It all came together beautifully. We left full and happy. The portions are huge, the flavors were great, the service was warm, and the prices were more than fair for how much food we got. We'll be back next time we visit Stepping Stones.

The sauces were delightful especially the green sauce. Customer service was also spot on in response to feedback. We will try again and you should too.

I'm always interested in discovering restaurants that serve genuine dishes from different countries without Americanized alterations. When he mentioned the location, I recognized exactly where it was. He specifically recommended the Fried Rice, known as Chaufas. I also learned from him that Chinese influence is prevalent in Peruvian cuisine due to historical migration, which explains why these flavors are integrated. The restaurant operates as a takeout spot, with no seating available. Upon entering, I was greeted promptly. Initially, I planned to order the Fried Rice, but I decided to try the Lomo Salado with white rice and added chicken instead. The Fried Rice can wait for another visit. My order was ready in about fifteen minutes, and it was substantial enough to serve two people--really good value. The rice was delicious, cooked to perfection--fluffy and well-prepared, even if it lacked a bit of seasoning. They provided a side of Lomo Salado broth, which I could pour over the dish, but I found it unnecessary. The steak was flavorful, tender, and juicy. The chicken I added was decent; it was well seasoned but tasted somewhat cheap, so I wouldn't order it again. The French fries were good, though I prefer rice as a side. Overall, the meal was excellent, and the customer service was outstanding. I'm already looking forward to returning to try the Fried Rice.
