Stacy, with care, spent time ensuring I understood x-rays, options, costs and specialists that could help me save my original teeth after a severe infection. Background: I had a dental emergency at a time when I was in between quality insurance through my job. The dental options provided during this time included what I considered to be chop shop services whereas they suggested removing teeth instead of focusing on saving them. I worried this was because the dentist gets paid for extractions and it's a quicker more profitable procedure they could offer. After being told, I would need to teeth removed, I went to La Contenta Dental in Valley Springs, a recommended office from another source, for a consultation for a 2nd option. Thanks to their consultation and service, I felt I was informed to make the best decision which allowed me every opportunity to keep my natural teeth which was important to me. Everyone was super friendly and answered all of my questions. The staff checked my insurance to ensure proper coverage before proceeding. I've called numerous times in the last three weeks to make an appointment. All I get when I call is a text asking to leave a message and they'll get back to me. Nobody's ever gotten back. The reason why I called is I've read their reviews and needed to find a dentist in the area since I've moved up here. But if this is how they handle ( or in my case) don't handle new patients, then I'm back to researching for a dentist farther away. read more

Dr. Jang is the go to dentist in Valley Springs, Ca. He is gentle, caring, and genuinely concerned with myself and my husband's dental needs. His dental hygenist is outstanding. Stacy, the receptionist, is friendly and always helpful. She is very knowledgeable with our insurance plan. The whole staff is welcoming and friendly. Dr. Tim Park is, quite honestly, the best dentist I've ever visited. I went to La Contenta to have my wisdom teeth removed, and with the first pair, I had hardly any swelling and no pain -- I didn't even need the painkillers prescribed. The second extraction didn't go as smoothly, but Dr. Park worked to get me healthy and eating solid foods again in no time. Dr. Park and his assistants were great about answering my questions and making sure that my visits, including the followups, were as quick and painless as possible. They explained everything I needed to know about post-surgery care and were on call even after office hours if I had any questions. The staff is friendly and extremely competent. The office is nice, though it's shared with a doctor's office -- the dentist has a separate waiting room just for dental patients that has cable TV, a DVD player and a video game platform (I think an Xbox, though I spent very little time in the waiting room). I would highly recommend Dr. Park for any dental services you need. read more

Best dentist I've ever had! They work with you and your insurance to make sure you get as much work done as the insurance will pay for. He goes over your needs and helps prioritize what needs to be done now and what can wait until your next yearly insurance amount kicks in. I was in excruciating pain on a weekend when my tooth cracked and I asked on my local social media boards if there were any local weekend or emergency dentists. One of the staff from this place contacted me and got me in right away even though they were not typically open then! They have been my dentist ever since. I highly recommend them! read more

At first it was a pleasant visit, however it turned terribly wrong. I was complaining of lower jaw pain, the Doctor who was very nice looked at my tooth and told me it was cracked all the way down to the root. They used their metal tools to remove plaque like usual and I was not really in that much pain at the time. However, after the cleaning and the exam, my tooth was exposed to physical manipulation which caused major pain when I got home. I looked in my mouth and my root of my tooth was now exposed to air. Plus, my cracked tooth was now just throbbing pain like I never felt before. So I called the office and asked for pain medication because my tooth was not to be pulled for 6 days by another Dentist in Jackson. I was given a prescription for medication, 1 pill every 4 hours X 15 pills. Are you kidding me! So that is two days worth of medication. My jaw is killing me, now, this is the first time I have ever had tooth pain in my life, but I felt like #$%@. It was I could do to make it through the day. I couldn't eat, other than some crackers and some bananas. So I called all day three days later before the weekend came up and left 5 messages with staff, once with a real person, the rest on a answering machine, begging for pain medication. I never received a phone call that entire day. So an update, the Doctor and staff called this morning and apologized very kindly, gave me a prescription for the pain and I was satisfied. For the doctor to call very early to check up on me do to this review, I find very professional. read more

I took my kids ages 7 and 2. They were very good with them. My 2 year old actually let them look at his teeth. And my 7 year old is not a fan of the dentist because of previous experiences with another dentist. But he was very happy with his experience here and wants this to be the dentist we go to now. I took my 2 yr old and 4yr old to La Contenta Dental recently. The Front Office staff were pleasant, the sign in process easy, and they take our insurance - so far so good. Then we start the "visit". One of the staff members does what they call a "happy visit" session, during which they go over all the (potentially scary looking) tools that will enter the child's mouth, give them friendly names, describes their purpose, and then let the kids touch them, feel safe and comfortable with them. Well, it worked. Next Samantha, the hygienist, cleaned the 4 yr old, so the 2 yr old could sit and watch. The 4 yr old was a little nervous during the cleaning, but did great. Then she cleaned the 2 yr old, and though it was a bit shorter as 2 yr old was more nervous, it went smooth also. Then Dr Jang came in, examined them both very quickly and it was over. Both kids left with little goodie bags and a very "happy" experience of dental visits, which is the best outcome I could have asked for. They are ready for their next visit already. And their siblings are eagerly awaiting their future appointment as well. Overall, all the staff team was great (Thank you La Contenta Dental team), and our family will definitely be returning in the future. read more

Keep far away from this dishonest place. I called to make an appointment for my wife and asked if they accepted my delta dental insurance and they confirmed I did and made an appointment for my wife. When we arrived, I was holding my 10-month old baby while the receptionist was gossiping with a client for 5 minutes while noticing we were standing there waiting. Finally, after filling out initial paperwork and wife went in the sit in chair and was looked at by Tim Park, the receptionist came in and said the insurance was not valid for their network and they stiffed me for the regular price of $126. I asked the lady why didn't you tell me this 2 weeks ago when I called for the appointment and especially why didn't you tell me this before my wife sat down and was looked at? Her response was "sorry" with a fake smile and then we left very unhappy. I later mailed a letter directly to Tim Park asking for a refund and never had a response. The place is old and not very private and the staff are idiots who can care less about stealing your money or customer service...horrible experience. read more

worst dentist ever,took the wrong person i wated an hour had two partial root canals done felt everything he did not know how to numb,when i told them i could not have novacine stupied dentist gave it to me any way,then im on 02 because my hearts start flipping no im sorry only laughing they thought it was funny,then when it came to pay they over charged girl had know clue how to do the finaces she was wrong 3 times and was arguing,the girls were nice but no one knosws what there doing my sputum was dripping out of my mouth i had to tel girl sevral times to suction me well flag her to suction me ,they left me omn table with mouth wide ope for 20 min while he was talkin to a pt next door..oh theres so much more,they cator to coward my butt and dosent even tell you what there doing next,had the root canals finished but going for crown else ware and its been two weeks my roots steal hurt,to much to mention read more
