She even provided a blanket and gave me two stress balls to help calm my nerves, which was incredibly thoughtful. Dr. Zhuk made my root canal the best experience it could possibly be. He took his time, explained everything clearly, and really helped ease my anxiety. I especially appreciated how he honored my requests--like letting me wear my AirPods and making sure I didn't see the needle. Those small acts of kindness made a huge difference for me. They were able to get me in the very next day due to a cancellation, and I couldn't be more grateful. From the moment I walked through the door, I felt calm and reassured that everything was going to be okay. Becky, the dental assistant, was phenomenal. She immediately put me at ease and helped calm every nerve and fear I had about the procedure. The entire team works like a well-oiled machine. They always seemed to have the correct tools and materials ready before the doctor even had to ask for them. It was honestly so impressive to watch them work together--it felt like watching a symphony. Everyone knew their role, and they executed it flawlessly. As for the root canal itself, I was in absolutely zero pain. I know that's hard to believe when it comes to root canals, but it's true. I was mildly sore afterward for a couple of days, but at its worst it was maybe a 1 or 2 out of 10, and Tylenol was more than enough to manage it. I'm incredibly grateful for the entire team and the care I received. They took an experience that I had been dreading and made it remarkably easy. Dr. Gearing is great, however his billing department is awful. I needed to have two root canals…read moredone. Getting them to bill my insurance was a fight from the beginning. My insurance company even had to call them and request that Gretchen bill them and assured her that they would pay especially because they are contracted with Dr. Gearing. I went in for one root canal and paid my portion of $426.50. Then scheduled to go back for another root canal and Gretchen told me I had to pay $ 1026.00. I was very taken back. I asked her to explain why the balance was so much higher then the first root canal especially since I am covered by two different insurance companies, Gretchen told me they refuse to bill or recognize my secondary insurance company because it gets to messy to bill. Makes no sense to me because they bill both of my insurance companies for the first root canal. I explained to her that was crazy, my secondary insurance company even call Dr. Gearings office again and spoke with Gretchen reassuring her that root canals are covered at 80% and I have plenty of funds left. She said she would ask the office manager which happens to be Dr. Gearings wife if they could go ahead and bill my secondary and she said NO. Then Gretchen proceed to tell me to just put it on a credit card. I was completely blown away by her tone of voice and how I was treated. Why would I pay upfront for something that would be covered 80% by my insurance company and then wait for the doctors office to get around to refunding me at their convince? I asked her if Dr. Gearing was ok treating patients like this and she said yes. Turns out Dr. Gearings office even owes me money back from charging me up front for my first root canal after my insurance company paid. Now I am trying to get ahold of the office and no one seems to be answering my calls. I will continue to get ahold of this office to get my refund but now I am forced to start over with a new doctors office that will bill me for another exam and a 3D scan which will eat up more of my benefits and all of this could have been avoided if Dr. Gearings office would just bill both of my insurance companies that he is a contracted provider with just how it was done for my first visit. Dr Kabans clinic got me an appt so fast and made sure to confirm that I was not in pain. I have major medical anxiety and PTSD due to some pretty terrible care. Everyone was extremely patient with me about that. They were kind and encouraging. I appreciated the little touches like the rescue kitten cam videos, the emotional support cuddle bear, the full body bib, the warm washcloth for after and much more. Jessica was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. She looked up my insurance stuff and got everything together really fast. I was shocked how quick she got it all done! AJ is a great assistant and even thought I was explaining to him that I am a hot mess and super freaky about medical providers he assured me that he didn't think I was weird and he would take good care of me. We specifically researched and decided on Dr. Dana Jensen, and he lived up to his reputation. Dr. Jensen is professional, amazing, and soft-spoken; he explained everything clearly and answered every question we had regarding the procedure. The efficiency was incredible--he removed two fully erupted top wisdom teeth and two horizontal impacted ones in less than 40 minutes under general anesthesia. The recovery was just as smooth; my son was pain-free by the second day using the provided ice pack and post-op instructions. The prescription was sent directly to the pharmacy, making the whole process seamless. His recovery was so fast that he was able to attend his first year of college just three days after surgery! I also loved the office layout, which includes a discreet side door to wheel patients out to the car. Tarah, the receptionist, was a pleasure to deal with and clearly explained our insurance coverage. I've also had the pleasure to deal with Nora (over the phone) and she was a sweetheart. Upon returning from my trip, I scheduled an emergency appointment with Luc Dental Care. An x-ray confirmed a large cavity in my wisdom tooth. I was immediately referred to Sacramento Valley Dental Specialists for a tooth extraction. I spoke with a friendly representative at Sacramento Valley Dental Specialists who was able to schedule a next day consultation and oral surgery. The following day I arrived to a group of friendly employees at the front desk that greeted me. Since I filled out the intake form prior to the appointment, I was only seated for two minutes before being ushered to the back. An employee took my blood pressure, administered an x-ray, and informed me that the surgeon would be with me shortly. Shortly after Dr. Fries entered the room and introduced himself. He gave me an overview of the procedure that would be conducted, asked if I had any questions, and then started a short video that informed me about post-extraction care. After the video concluded, I was ushered to another room where Dr. Fries and an employee began administering the local anesthesia. Roughly 10 minutes later, after confirming that the anesthesia had kicked in, Dr Fries began the procedure. Throughout the procedure Dr. Fries and the employee did a great job of communicating what was happening (the wisdom tooth was very stubborn in coming out) and verifying that I was not in pain (although there was slight discomfort). Three days later, strictly following the post-extraction rules, I have no pain (thankfully)...thank you Dr. Fries and the rest of the Sacramento Valley Dental Specialists team!

However, my fears were dispelled when I saw Dr. Franklin. He was kind and gentle, answered my questions and spent a good amount of time with me. I went to Dr. Franklin for a second opinion. The good doctor allayed my fears of the work prescribed by the other dentist that I saw. He explained in detail the pros and cons of dental work, and the time to get the work done. After a thorough examination, Dr. Franklin said I have a gentle bite.
