We moved to the area 18 months ago but had procrastinated on finding a dentist. A broken tooth necessitated securing one pronto and feel very fortunate that I found Dr. Russell and his great team. I called at 9 AM and they fit me in by 9:30! Dr. Russell took care of the broken tooth that same morning and scheduled a full preventative appointment the following day. He took the time to explain what needed to be done and we have a treatment plan in place. Support staff is welcoming and friendly. We live in the Bay Area and have skied at Bear Valley for years. Over the holiday, my 11 year old's orthodontic work broke, and he required prompt attention. Despite it being a holiday week, Dr. Russell's office responded promptly (we left a voicemail after hours and heard back within 2 hours). My son was in the chair first thing the next morning, where the problem was fixed. Dr. Russell was on vacation, yet he was willing to get my son out of pain, and ultimately saved us from having to return to the Bay Area to get care. I can't possibly say enough about how amazing this dental office is. Last night my adorable 4 yr old grandson broke his tooth on the monkey bars. Dr Russell returned our call within minutes even though it was after hours. We sent him pictures of the broken tooth and He squeezed us in this morning as his tooth needed to be extracted ASAP. They took my little guy right it and wow! I was amazed by all the helpful, caring staff. Dr Li is the best pediatric dentist I've ever experienced. He explained everything and involved my grandson, even though he is only 4. They have the best explanations for all their procedures, that a child can easily understand. My grandson wasn't scared even with all that was going on. All the assistants made him feel comfortable and even held his hand when Mimi had to leave, I didn't want my little guy to see me weeping. This has been the worst experience and I'm saddened because initially it was great. I had an extraction and went on my way. A year later and many appointments to a sinus dr revealed a sliver of something was left at the extraction site. Not a big deal dr wanted to rule out if it could be affecting the sinus or if it was safe to be in there still. Called the 1st impressions office was told to get an X-ray which I did. It was out of pocket 100 dollars and I was unhappy by that. But, I paid it and they sent the X-ray to Dr.Russells dental office. I received a call this morning and the lady told me right off the bat this wasn't there fault and made a bunch of excuses of why they weren't responsible. I was so taken aback I'm over here in massive pain and sick because of my sinus and she's defending her dental practice. I ask oh so you looked at the pano X-ray and she has no idea what I was talking about. That super expensive X-ray they insisted I get they never looked at. After trying to talk to her she kept insisting they had no control over how they extract teeth and have no responsibility for what's left behind after the extraction. I have never felt so disrespected and treated horribly by any dr. Or dentist office. I'm thoroughly disappointed in the care I received and the lack of empathy this office provided. They never even answered my sinus drs question, is it unsafe to keep the bone sliver in. So now I'm out a 100 dollars and still don't have an answer. I had been going to a dentist in Stockton due to Groupon special. When Dr Russell opened in Angels Camp, I had to give him a try. Now my husband and I are very satisfied with his and his hygienists' skills. With no dental insurance, we are also happy with the cost and feel that is a good value. read more

I am highly dissatisfied with my experience at Dr. Russel's office. I have had wonderful dentil care in the past and was expecting the same here, because I heard so many great things. It was probably one of the worst experiences I have had at a dental office. The hygienist was not as friendly nor as experienced as I had anticipated. I actually always look forward to visiting the dentist, but this time it was an hour of agony and lock jaw. The room was freezing, the decor feels like you are in a science-fiction solitary confinement cell, and the hygienist hit me a few times and didn't apologize. In addition to her making me feel bad for not having been to a dentist recently, umm sorry I didn't know hygienist were in the shame game. just plain rude. Also, not sure why I even filled out paper work because all my information on the print out was wrong and had to be corrected. My teeth don't feel clean, I'm out 100 bucks, and have to wait another six months so insurance will cover another visit at a different office. read more
