The nice part about this farmstead is that you don't have to schlep too far out east to get there. This morning I just took William Floyd north to 25A and went east for a few miles. Not a bad ride at all. The people who worked there were very kind and attentive. I got the feeling that this is a mom and Pop Farm stand which is nice to see, but they have everything. It's definitely worth checking out if you're having your summer tomato or corn fix.

Swooping into the parking lot to glance at the rows of tables, saw a half a dozen varieties of Heirloom tomatoes. Can't resist over sized, fresh heirloom tomatoes. They grow them and also the eggplant and cucumbers the clerk said. Some other items are locally grown for convenience as most farm stands share product to create a better shopping experience. It works. Saw some nice local potato chips, saw fruit and even pies. Went with what they grow to check them out, and some local green lettuce, super fresh that can't be beat.

I do not make sauce but if I did I would get the tomatoes for my sauce from Mays farm. The corn was super fresh and I went every week to get my corn to bbq each week. I look forward to going for a fall pumpkin picking trip. they have a large selection of pumpkins, including the white pumpkins which are my favorite. I look forward to their delicious roasted corn and huge mums! last year I also went to a "decorate your own " wreath session they had at Christmastime and they let me decorate a grave blanket instead for my moms grave. very nice people.

Have been back a few times since. Once pulled in off the road... its such a lovely country farm with a big enclosed farm stand. Outside find lots of cheerful displays of seasonal farm items. Hay, tractors, pumpkins when in season, flowers and more. They have a nice selection of their own grown fruit and vegetables and carry other local farms produce as well. They have small signs clearly stating local, or "our own" which are always a treat to have direct from the farm. Helen's makes pies too. It's also nearby Brierrmere's down the block. The night before Thanksgiving, Helen's offered an alternative option to the long lines for pies. In summer I once tried a mixed berry pie. This time tried an apple and pumpkin. This was the year for less baking and smaller lines... this made it easy. Much appreciated. Pies seemed not too homemade. Crisp sliced apple with the same gel like cinnamon on most of the apple pies out here. Not too homemade tasting. Seemed more commercial frozen and bake. So for true homemade pies, try nearby Junda's or Briermere. For an ok assortment of grab and go pie, this worked. The lady's are sort of pleasant but leaning more toward efficient and courteous. Not the warmest vibe here on different visits. No one seems genuinely friendly like you might want at a small town shop. Once asked about a pie, and one woman sort of mocked my question joking "its a fruit pie" slightly sarcastic. The cashier on a another visit wouldn't show a pie, by opening a box citing the owners rules. So took my chances. Lol. That shouldn't deter you, its clean, fresh and pretty to look at. A nice stop off when touring at the beginning of the North Fork.

They always have a good selection of in season fresh produce. I believe all or most of the produce is grown on the Reeve farm. Some North Fork farm stands sell stuff from out of state. If you see peaches in April it's a good sign that it wasn't grown on the NF. Always ask where an item is grown if you are interested in local produce.

We bought the ticket for their big slide and our kiddo had a blast riding it a bunch of times. The staff there's were really nice. We got to hang out with all the animals and that was the best because there was literally no other person at the farm, at that time. They have hand washing stations, decent bathrooms, tons of things that kids can jump on, ride and play with. It's so nice and I definitely want to come back. We payed on the go-carts and they also have huge bouncy pillows and a big corn playpen for the kiddies that love sensory play. They have a beautiful nursery and small farm store, so on the way out I purchased some flavored honey, painted rocks, and plants, for my mother.

I didn't end up buying flowers this time, but i did get a watermelon and a cookie. Let me just say, it's so delicious! the watermelon is so juicy and the chocolate chip cookie is huge and it's so yum. Workers were so nice as well. There are tractor rides with Elmo. There are giant blown up bouncy castles and structures. They even have a pumpkin patch, bumper cars for kids, and other games. I would definitely recommend! Every Thanksgiving my home is where everyone comes to gather. I have a yearly ritual, I go to the farm stands and buy locally grown vegetables. But the final step is to turn my home into a warm welcoming space, so I'll buy flowers from Pantaleons Farms. Look for the signs, it's located across from the post office on the main road. Once you arrive, grab a wagon and start exploring. On my front porch I like to have a burst of autumn with red and gold flowers. Pantaleons farms also sells bundles of hay to give that farmhouse look but, I grew up in Brooklyn. My grandparents never did anything like did this and I know they would love the flowers. The hay would confuse them. I can hear my grandfathers voice asking about it and it makes me laugh. Billy, you don't plant, do you make a the bread? Now that the outside porch is ready, it's time to go inside with crafted table centerpieces and other potted flowers that are painted in warm autumn colors. It really gives the house that extra touch for Thanksgiving. Once Thanksgiving is over, I plant the flowers. They sell all sizes of plants and trees, its deceiving but out back has a large farm. Funny story, I wanted to buy some plants for the front of my house, I see these purple sprays that spread in a nice burst of color. I grab a wagon and this young couple buys almost all of the plants?? I grabbed the last four, they weren't my top choice.. I've been doing this for years, try to visit Pantaleons farm if you're in the Stony Brook-Port Jeff area. The floral arrangements are beautiful

Surprisingly this farm stand on the main road in Riverhead (in front of many of the chain stores)…read morerepresents an actual farm of 200 acres of farm land that is just north of the stores. The Anderson family was here long before the stores were sold prime road frontage in front of their big farm. They maintain a retail section themselves that represents the farm behind it all. The Anderson's run the farm, and peaches, nectarines, melons, red & yellow watermelon, green & red tomatoes, red onion, corn & more, are second to none. They also have a few extra buckets of peaches they sell for pies, but they looked just as good. I had passed this stand by for years when heading east on the north fork, thinking it some retailer.. then was surprised when I slowed down, learned there is a big real farm behind Target, and got great feedback from things brought back. Found myself coming back often when near. No credit cards. Real farmers are so cool to find in Long Island.
