My first time here and our tacos were delicious! I got the Al pastor and carne asada tacos. My husband got the carne asada, carnitas, and chicken fajita taco (I forgot to snap a photo of his). This place is located in the Oro Plaza off of Oro Dam Boulevard in Oroville California. I have visited this place a few times when I am in Oroville. It in a small shopping center with UPS...nail salon..laundry...and other businesses. I found this place when I had to use UPS while traveling. The plaza itself feels a bit rundown with debris by the outside businesses. They have indoor seating along with takeout ( you can order ahead). The menu is pretty expansive with vegan options as well. I usually order the Carne asada street tacos that are delicious! The problem I still have is they will give me one tiny complimentary salsa with my order. THEN you have to pay 75 cents more for each tiny container! I love Mexican food and am used to getting complimentary salsas (and chipps) wherever I dine. They are usually pretty busy and could easily not be so tight with the salsa! I just had a carne asada burrito minus beans and extra cheese. Very very disappointed. It was completely flavorless and had no salsa on it I couldn't even find salsa if I tried. There was so much rice it was inedible and I could not taste any meat nor could I hardly see any. And there was almost no cheese at all. I'm really disappointed. I feel really ripped off. They should have just asked me for $9 and I have had it it to them instead of having to get ripped off like this. Basically I paid $9 for a tortilla and some rice. Our meal was a taco/burrito bar which included chicken and beef for meat, large salad of lettuce and onions, rice, beans, 2 types of tortillas (corn and flour) along with pico de gallo and other salsas. Good food and decent service. Food: good! I appreciate the variety of meats and tortillas. The trays of meat felt a little on the low side. In terms of flavor it was ok. Basically, it was good for hungry people so we ate it. No amazing flavors or anything. Service: the lady who takes orders and rings up payment is super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Since I had a big order, she had someone in the kitchen help me by carrying the food to my car and loading. I don't think he really cared. I had a lot of salsa and just wet food in general. If I didn't repack the boxes, the food would have spilled during my drive and gotten food all over my car. But it was ended up ok. Location: it's a small hole in the wall with a steady stream of people. Some of the tables where full of dishes because people ate and left but no one removed the empty dishes. Which I think is a total steal, as they are stuffed full of meat, guacamole, fresh cilantro, onions and homemade salsa. The atmosphere is pleasant- friendly, fast service and is VERY CLEAN. I came into this restaurant with my wife mid day on a Monday we ordered 2 tamales and two tacos. Side of beans and rice. Rice was charred and flavorless. The beans tasted like they were cooked on a plank of burnt wood. The taco was mediocre and the tamale looked and tasted like it had been in the freezer for a week then over cooked in the microwave. It didn't have the giant, overcooked shrimp that some places use. They were more bite sized and manageable, but not small. Great with the lime on the side.
