Food is good but be careful with to go orders. I ordered at the counter a take out order of food from the kitchen and a baked good and drink. They said the order would be available at the table and pointed to the table. The wait was not long but the bag only contained the food from the kitchen. I had to ask around for the other stuff. They said the put the drinks on the drink bar and said someone else may have taken it. The replaced the drinks but I never got the baked goods THAT I PAID FOR. read more

If you have the privilege of getting married at The Holly Farm you will have the incredible opportunity to have La Crème be your caterer/bartenders/decorators/rental coordinator/etc all weekend long! I will start by prefacing that La Crème + Holly Farm give their 1000% to every wedding that happens at their venue, which means you won't really begin working with La Crème until about 2-3 months prior to your wedding date. The first month or so will be spent talking through ideas and inspiration, likely doing your tasting (which is a literal 5 star experience) and the last two months is where you will really get a final breakdown of cost and timeline. If you are a slightly anxious/overly organized bride like me, I know this can seem stressful. I suggest you ask them early on for a realistic estimate based on the number of guests and events you will be having. And then..add an extra 15% on top of that, and set that money aside as you are going through your planning process, because trust me, you won't want to skimp on what La Crème has to offer. Now that the money talk is out of the way.. the service and food that La Crème provides is out of this world. We had an Indian/Mexican fusion wedding and had all our food and alcohol handled by La Crème for the entire weekend. It's not a typical process where you pick from a list of options based on a fixed menu with prices. La Crème creates every menu from scratch based on the couple and their preferences, and then they adjust based on your budget. Chef Joe and Tamie's team had just a few conversations with us about our cultures, favorite foods, family preferences and then they created an entire world personalized to who we are as people. Perfectly marrying the cultural cuisines in a fun yet respectful way, taking our request to dedicate a bar to our dads and creating the *cutest* Dad Cave with all their favorite brands of Scotch & Mezcal, and seamlessly making everything appear and disappear like magic. Aside from the food being incredible, our guests felt taken care of at every moment. They are not just caterers, they are the people who make sure you aren't getting too chilly in the evenings, they are the energy keeping the drinks flowing at the bar as friends order round after round (after round), they are your partners when families decide the day of the wedding they are coming and you need to change the seating arrangement, they are a familiar face that comes up to you at the reception and tells you how happy they are for you. They are everything you could want, you just need to have faith that they will step in when it's your turn and they will blow you away at your wedding. WOW, so impressed with La Creme Catering. Working with Tamie, Lauren, and Chef Hollie was amazing. To be honest, there were times where I felt uneasy...the fact that we didnt really have any estimates or ideas on costs until a couple months before (after we booked and signed contracts for all our other vendors) kept me a little on edge. I also wish everything was priced out and we could pick and choose what we wanted, according to price, and then base a menu off of that. Instead, how they work is you just have multiple conversations with Tamie and she sends you updated revisions of the menu. Im sure there's a reason for them doing it that way though. They are the pros.. When it came down to the big day, they DELIVERED x100000. People raved about the food. Not only was it delicious, it was BEAUTIFUL. Thats why I waited until now to write the review (we got married in June 2019 at Holly Farm)....I wanted to make sure I included our photographer's photos of the food (photos by Jake & Borise at Love+Wolves Co). In addition to the reception food, we hire La Creme for the full open bar, and the brunch the Sunday after. Hands down best idea. It's worth noting that I told her I LOVED pickles and pickle juice and the open bar had PICKLEBACKS. She made my dreams come true. Tamie also worked with us on budget the entire time, and we're SO GRATEFUL. There were options that saved us a penny or two, and we couldn't have been more happy with what we got. I am vegan and I was more than satisfied with the food. IT WAS BOMB. They accommodated all my gluten-free guests and my one guest with crazy allergies. When it all ended, we saw they plated all the food and put it in our honeymoon suite fridge. I was going to cry, that was too sweet. All your doubts that you have leading up to your wedding will be washed away when you see what they do. Even though I had some uneasiness, in hindsight, I think I stressed out a little too much on little stuff. La Creme Monterey did a fantastic job for our son's wedding at Holly Farm, Carmel Valley. The staff and chef served us a wonderful tasting menu that won us over. It was done near their rental showroom, and the facility itself is amazing with everything one can think of for a wedding or major event function. The staff was helpful with settings, color coordination, silver wares, chairs, tables, linens, napkins ... etc and of course pricing. For the tasting menu, their fish was surprisingly better than the beef for the main course, but be sure the venue has an onsite kitchen for preparing the meals on day of event. We were pleased with La Creme Monterey's efficiency with setting up, serving, and take down tasks. They clearly have the experience to handle a crowd of over 150+ guests. Our wedding venue works exclusively with La Creme Monterey and it's not hard to see why. Their food and staff set the bar in each of their respective categories. La Creme catered, staffed and handled the rentals for our rehearsal dinner and wedding. After an initial meeting with Tamie, Kristen assisted us with the remainder of the planning. Pro Tip: do not be afraid to give them a ring for specific questions. Both Tamie and Kristen are always kind and accommodating. We were so grateful that part of La Creme's services included handling the rentals for both events as it lifted a major element of the day off of our shoulders. I was very impressed with how La Creme and their staff were able to make our rehearsal dinner and wedding two individually spectacular events. For the rehearsal dinner we left the tablescape decor in their capable hands and we were so glad we did. Our wedding day dinner setting had many preplanned elements from the floral artistry to my last minute crafts, but La Creme still brought their special touches and took it to the next level. The food is good and Chef Jon is excellent to work with. He works hard to be accommodating. But during the preparations for our wedding reception La Creme was unorganized. Due to their lack of organization I made sure to confirm several times before our wedding day that we would receive leftover food from the wedding reception (I wanted to be able to relax and enjoy my wedding meal the day after, once everything had quieted down). However come wedding day we did not receive even a single leftover, even though we had several guests not show up and there was plenty of food left after dinner. Because of this I simply cannot recommend La Creme Monterrey to anyone. La Creme did send us a small refund for the platter of food that they promised they would give us the next day but never did. However this refund did not cover the leftovers that we did not receive for the guests who did not show up. (I am also frustrated that a small refund is expected to replace something as important as your wedding dinner). I do want to thank Chef Jon for graciously sharing some of the recipes from the wedding reception. It is helpful to know that we will be able to recreate the food that we did not get. Tamie is amazing and I just want to hang out with her in real life. She does that thing, where she gives you amazing tasting food at a wedding which is next to impossible. La Creme catered our Holly Farm wedding and our Hangover Brunch the next day and everything was beautiful and so tasty. Our guests raved about all the food, from the fresh heirloom tomato salad, to the late night nacho bar. She knocked our signature drink out the park. I've had to divulge the recipe to numerous guests. And she takes care of you which is what every bride wants on her wedding. The simple gesture of making up a plate of food and putting it in our mini fridge at the end of the night to make sure we would get to taste everything at our wedding, something a lot of couples miss out on in the chaos of the day. La Creme catered our wedding and rehearsal dinner this May at the Holly Farm, and we couldn't have asked for a better catering service. Tamie is a joy to work with, and she and I talked and laughed throughout the process like we had been friends for years. Next time we are in Pacific Grove we will stop in just to say hi to her! Chef Jon is an enigma, and he can make any dish or type of dish you challenge him to. They have sample menus, but he is willing to do anything you ask. We had a light French theme to our wedding, so we challenged him to do a French menu, and boy did he deliver. He came up with amazing rosemary chicken and steak dishes that came with rich buttery sauces that made you go for another piece of bread just to get every last drop. I came up with some ideas for appetizers (duck a l'orange pops, for example) and he executed my vision perfectly. If you can think of it, Jon can make it. The staff was also incredibly lovely throughout the entire process. I have worked with Tamie at La Creme for numerous personal parties and have sworn to myself time and again that I would sign up for a Yelp account and write a review. I am a wedding planner by trade and my taste is discriminating. I know how much effort and heart goes into pulling off full-service events and honestly, it's something a person (in this case a person who owns and tends to an awesome business) HAS or HAS NOT. Wine ranges from 7-14 a glass and generously poured - offerings very fine - sold by the glass or bottle. Tapas generally 6-13 a plate. Had the quiche one Saturday morning 3 weeks back - very nice as was the cappuccino and chai. ENVIRONMENT: Eclectic environment - many nooks and crannies to sit in on two different levels. Stylish and comfortable. SERVICE: Excellent and friendly.... once they found us on the balcony. Three different servers constantly checked on us despite having a busy evening and prearranged party. For catering, every single guest said the food was the best they've had and especially for that large of a party. Her selection of fresh meats, vegetable and sauces specific for our group couldn't have been found elsewhere. Her heart and soul, and her team, was poured into everything we selected. Tamie and her wonderful team took over the Holly Farm and created wonderful, delicious food for my wedding couple and their guests to enjoy over the entire weekend. They accommodated every request, big or small, and provided service graciously with a giant smile. The food was absolutely delicious and presented beautifully. Having had the opportunity to spend time with them in the kitchen, I noted how meticulous they were with the preparation of the food, and how they cared about the food and the people they were serving not only in front of them, but back in the kitchen where guests could not have seen them. Every morning of the guests' stay, she would come to the property and ensure the guests had everything they needed. She took charge of all aspects of rentals, and had a great eye for detail, ensuring the perfect placement of the table setting (seriously, she was so specific with her team, it was a wedding planner's dream!) to create the most perfect tablescapes. We had the honour of visiting her restaurant/kitchen in Pacific Grove for a private tasting. What a cute charming place she has. Incredible decor, with a picture of her grandmother in her memory in there, with the best story too (you have to visit her to find out her story!). Aside from being an amazing chef, Tamie is bubbly, vivacious, funny and caring. Just an all around outstanding human being. Chef Tammie and her incredible team made our wedding weekend at The Holly Farm one to remember. We had La Creme cater both our rehearsal dinner and our wedding night. The rehearsal was a small group and we had wood fired pizzas (and sides). I had no idea these pizzas were going to be some of the best pizzas we'd ever had! Our wedding night was even more extraordinary than I could have ever imagined. We have had a large portion of our guests say that it was the best wedding food they'd ever had - and I agree. I think I'm one of the few brides that actually sat down and ate her entire plate because I wasn't letting that deliciousness go to waste!! From the cocktail hour to the desserts, Tammie and her team made our dreams come true. The wedding food was very important to us and we were a bit worried because the La Creme is an exclusive caterer at our venue. All of our hesitations were washed away the minute we met both Tammie and Kristen - there was no doubt they were going to rock our wedding food but BOY DID THEY ROCK IT! We had wayyyy more guests than we had originally planned for so of course budgeting came into play toward the end. Tammie personally worked with us for days to figure out how we were going to make it work... and we did. She was extremely helpful and accommodating and I'll never forget how much effort she put into helping us. Although we took out some of our original menu items, not one person could have known we cut down because even the simplest of menu items were absolutely phenomenal. We just had the most amazing wedding of our lives, and our guests can't stop raving about how good the food was - courtesy of La Creme. Not only was the food so good, but Tamie's decorations were amazing, too! For the pizza rehearsal dinner night Tamie decorated the tables adorably with red checkered tablecloths and pumpkins (it was a fall wedding). For the wedding, we had a Hallowedding, and they decorated the dessert bar so amazingly with windows covered in cobwebs, hanging spiders, fake bones and gravestones in front of the dessert table, and little bowls of candy spread out amongst the cupcakes...it was a work of art. The food was all amazing. Some of my favorite highlights: - the shrimp and grits, served on big spoons (appetizer) - the Sicilian mushroom arancini balls (appetizer - so.freaking.good) - the ceviche (it was so over the top amazing, that I didn't get a chance to have any, but the guests loved it) - the bruschetta bar (app) - the chicken (how did they get the chicken so moist? It was miraculous) (main course) - the steak perfectly medium rare, with the most delicious chimichurri sauce I've ever had in my life (main course) - the chocolate cupcakes with Skittles on top (or severed fingers, depending on which cupcake you got :-) - these were not your average cupcake. We just worked with La Creme for our wedding 2 weeks ago and everything was a COMPLETE hit from start to finish. Tamie was so easy to work with and helped me every step of the way- from creating my table arrangements to picking glassware and then of course designing the menu. She and Kristen also worked seamlessly with my venue (Holly Farm) and my alcohol company so that I didn't have to worry about a thing! We had Tamie cater our rehearsal dinner, our wedding, and our brunch. The entire weekend people could not stop talking about the food- EVERYTHING was good!! We were making last minute changes up to the week before and Tamie and Kristen were so accommodating and flexible. They really guided us and gave us great suggestions to create a perfect menu. Our rehearsal dinner was Mexican-themed, and OMG the enchiladas and the corn salad were TO DIE for. I could eat that meal for the rest of my life. They also made amazing sangria and margaritas- everything was so delicious right down to the fresh churros for dessert! For our wedding, we had an amazing spread at cocktail hour, but the biggest hits were definitely the ceviche and the fried calamari (Italians said it was the best they had ever had!). The mushroom tartlets were also super tasty and cute. For dinner we had family style which was really fun and everything was plated and presented sooo beautifully. The grilled steak with chimmichurri was absolutely amazing. We also had a mac & cheese bar late in the evening and guests were lining up! People absolutely loved it! Tamie also did an amazing creme brulee bar for dessert! For our brunch we had chillaquilles & fixings which were SO flavorful and nicely spicy. Tamie did such an amazing job on all the little details to make us feel cared for all weekend. She brought me & my girls delicious mimosas while we got ready and stocked our honeymoon suite with tons of leftovers which my husband and I loved snacking on! Although listed as La Creme Monterey, this jewell is located in Pacific Grove. Also, it is listed as Caterers...yes, they provide wonderful catering. However, they are open each morning serving the best coffee (Verve roasting from Santa Cruz) and wonderful baked goods, breakfast burritos, delicious soup and sandwiches each afternoon. What makes me return most mornings is the friendly staff! Ashley, Ian, Sarah, Fernando (?) and owner Tamie are so friendly and professional! dinners are Thursday through Sunday and I cannot wait to try. Rehearsal movie night they served pizza from down the street IN THE BOX to our guests. Was unaware at the time that they had exhorted the $$ from my new inlaws for the food I had already paid for. Went downhill from there. Couldn't even get my son's NAME right (was assured we were "favorites'). My husband had to put the champagne on the table for the toast. Never got a hold of them in less than 3 tries. Food OK, but not outstanding, using a cook not a chef obviously. Service poor, found Tamie insincere and entitled. Don't bother if you can. Tami and her staff at La Creme are the best. She catered our wedding at the Holly Farm and we could not have been happier. Everything was delicious, the service was excellent and Tami is so easy! She really helped us figure out what we wanted to serve and even told us when she thought there would be too much food for our small group of 90 guests! Imagine that! We so appreciated her guidance, honesty and loveliness. We cannot recommend her enough, and if you're getting married at Holly Farm, do NOT forget the late night snacks La Creme offers! I love La Creme! While I've only scooted over to gave a breakfast burrito or a scone (which are both great!), I just love everything about the place. The decor is classy and the staff is so warm and inviting. I'm definitely going to stop by soon for happy hour! read more
