I was very impressed with this coffee shop in Frankenmuth. People know I love and breathe Starbucks, but I wanted something local to Frankenmuth and this hit the spot. They have a large menu, but you can still ask for anything you want, even if you don't see it on the menu. Coffee and chai were delicious, they were made quickly once ordered, but the wait was long. Very long. There were 15 people ahead of me in line, each with their own unique drink, and it took forever to get through them. May be due to the holidays, possibly a lack of associates. I ordered the Bavarian Breve; it was described as "German chocolate". The cashier told that the small comes with one shot of espresso. That was good with me so I ordered the small. I was asked if I wanted the whip on top and I said no thank you. Thankfully I declined the whip on top because the drink was extremely sweet. It honestly tasted like it was a cup of German chocolate syrup flavoring mixed with hot milk. It really did not taste like there was any coffee in it. The speed of service here was so so. It took almost five minutes for my drink to be made. I got an iced Carmel macchiato and my friend got a tea (which is pictured). The coffee was a little sweet for me but delish. The size and price of the coffee is comparable to Starbucks. I also ordered an iced Milky Way mocha. It was sweet as well and tasted like chocolate. It did not taste like the candy bar but it was delicious. I will be back to try the red velvet. Where do I even begin? This adorable little coffee shop was spectacular. In the morning i decided to drive into town to get some coffee for my husband and I. Those gosh darn kids just run through are energy quick. After day one him and I needed a pick me up. I ordered a iced caramel macchiato for me and a ethiopian pour over for my husband. Although the pour over took long, it was heavenly. I was told that the pour overs take a while at the register, which was kind of them to warn me. My iced caramel macchiato was so freaking good. Holy my oh my! It was way better than starbucks. In addition, the service has also great. The cashiers where very nice, and not groggy at all! I was so happy to find this gem of a coffee shop on my recent trip to Michigan's "little Bavaria" (as a German, I have to argue that designation, but that's an argument for another day). It's a cute space, split into 2 levels. On the night we were there, 2 young guys were working and were abundantly friendly and engaging. My fiance approaches coffeehouse menus like building specs written in Japanese, so he had a lot of questions for them and they patiently answered every single one. We sat on a bench outside and listened to NY singer/songwriter Doug Keith play a lovely set as we enjoyed our drinks. We didn't sample the bacon mocha (which was a REAL special drink offering), but we did tell everyone we came across about it. Our experience was a total thumbs up. If it were closer to home, I'd visit more often. read more

We stopped in because it was cold and snowing and we needed something to warm us up on the walk back to the car. The coffee here was delicious! We ordered a bunch of drinks for our group and they got everything perfect! They even made some latte art (one of which was a super cool dragon!!!). The staff were so nice and made us feel welcomed. They also had coffee beans for sale in a myriad of flavors, and coffee accessories (cups etc). If we weren't on a tight schedule I would've stuck around to hang out and chat. First off, customer service isn't #1 here. Never been to a cafe that says they don't know how to make a flat white Really? We've been to this cafe several times and always order the same drinks. Not magically he can make it for me.... Asked for one drink extra hot. He makes them both extra hot and neither drink is xtra hot. I asked him to remake it, he says he can pop it in the microwave He should be fired! He made the drinks wrong, not me. I said feel the cup, this is lukewarm. He didn't feel it, I said I just paid almost $10 for 2 coffees. Please remake the drink extra hot as originally requested. He finally did, but what a jerk! I wouldn't ever go back there after the terrible service I Received today. I hope the owner reads these reviews. Oh, and you can't pay your own CC processing fees? You should at least tell your customers there's a charge before running the cards and not direct them to the fine print on the door. Oh, and the guy tells the mom. We can't make a soy milk drink. And then says ok, I can make her a drink with soy milk. Even the Grandma outside mentioned to me the story and the terrible service she received. read more

This place was awesome. I really enjoyed it. Their prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. You can get a large for just less than $5. I tried the red velvet and it was raspberry with white chocolate. Delicious. I don't typically put sugar in my coffee so I ordered it half sweet and it was perfect. Went in here last night. Only 1 person ahead of me in line. Took over 15 minutes to get a drink. The 2 girls working seemed more interested in talking to their friend who was infront of me in line, then serving customers. Paid $5 for a medium Mocha and it tasted like warm milk! I'm fairly positive the barista did not put any espresso in the drink. One of the worst tasting Mochas I've ever had (worse then Starbucks, and I didnt think that was possible!). If the ubiquitous Frankenmuth faux-Bavarian kitsch and oompah-music are starting to get to you (not that there's anything wrong with these things...but you know what I mean), Harvest Coffeehouse is a great, quiet respite in the middle of downtown Franknemuth. We stopped in here to warm up on a cold, sharp fall day, and we were so impressed that we went back for breakfast the next morning. The coffee is great -- rich and tasty, even the decaf; lots of varietals and flavors. (They also sell packages of coffees and bulk coffee beans, and little one-pot samplers.) Tea and chai are available as well. (The cider chai was excellent!) The cafe' also offers a variety of muffins and desserts. There's a small luncheon menu as well -- maybe two sandwiches, a daily soup and salad plates. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing; there's also an upper level that's perhaps a little quieter, that includes a used-book lending library. We really enjoyed spending time in here and would certainly come back again. read more

They don't have tons of seating, but what they do have is comfy. There are used books for sale (75% off retail) on the shelves in the back/upstairs area.
