LCMS is a wonderful school that has done and is doing wonders for my 2 children. My son attended the school from 2021-2023. The small classes allowed my son to learn in a classroom with a low student to teacher ratio and in an environment that allowed him to learn at a flexible pace. By 4yrs old, my son was reading, writing, adding single digits, sorting, identifying shapes, and creating art pieces. My daughter currently attends the school and since my son left the school, LCMS added a cooking class, Spanish class, yoga, hands-on science class, gardening, and soccer for the kids. In short, they added more programs to provide a well-rounded learning experience. The teachers are nurturing, encouraging, and kind. I believe they set my children up for success academically and have their overall development as a top priority. No two experiences will be alike as there is no such thing as a perfect school. If you are considering the school for your child/children, tour the school for yourself and don't let my review or any other review for that matter influence your own decision. read more

This school is apparently getting negative reviews removed because my recent review about my son being physically assaulted in this establishment is no longer here. They're also getting a flood of new five star reviews to bury mine, which just speaks to their transparency and honesty (or lack thereof). Before deciding to enroll here, please visit the CDSS website and search for their facility no. 198021594. My son was pinched and bruised and there was a CDSS investigation on the matter (SUBSTANTIATED, see CDSS website). In addition, they're doing a nice facelift of the outside of the facility while their roofs are leaking and they had buckets in my child's classroom to catch the water. Maybe a mold inspection is in their future. CDSS also substantiated that claim. My son came home with all manner of bug bites from this school. They advertise cameras in the facility to make you feel safe, but in reality the Director "doesn't know how to use the cameras" and later flat out refused to provide footage unless legally required. Then the owner promised to provide footage and still hasn't. Please do your research before enrolling your child, there is no shortage of preschools in the area. Our son has been in the infant program at LCMS since September of last year and he is about to move up to the toddler program (such a big boy!) We have had such a wonderful experience here and all the teachers in the infant room are so sweet and caring. All four of the baby room teachers are very communicative and always so happy to see him in the mornings at drop off, which makes this mama's heart swell with pride. I also really appreciate how low the teacher to child ratio is (typically 1 teacher to 2 kids if the class is full that day, although more often than not there are less kids). My son has been attending this school for two years, and our experience has been very positive. It's disappointing to see negative reviews from parents who seem more interested in harming the school's reputation simply because things didn't go their way. I encourage prospective families to visit the school in person and decide for themselves. The staff has consistently shown care and dedication to my son and the children, it's very unfortunate to see that effort dismissed. Waiting for an investigation to finish before posting my own bad experience, but beware bad reviews have been removed from this page for some reason. One more recent that detailed the physical harm the dance teacher did leaving physical proof of harm without incident report to someone in the toddler room. I'd be concerned with lack of transparency and lack of accountability overall. Recent and sudden director changes may be the explanation here but that's super shocking to see the bad reviews totally disappear. Also note, one of the teachers has her grandkids in the program which may be a bias in recent positive reviews. Response: correct it was found unsubstantiated. I reported the incident months later after I was informed the same excuse was used from the same new director for not being able to review the daycare footage even internally. The new director was not trained to review daycare footage when our incident happened a few days after she started. That seemed reasonable. When my friend who also had a son attending reported an incident and had the same response from the preschool director now on the job for months and still not trained to review any footage. I expected mine to be unsubstantiated due to the time delay. My incident involved my daughter in the infant room. I believe it was totally accidental but the overall concern was she went all day without the adults noticing. We enrolled at the end of July. This occurred mid September. My daughter dislocated her elbow while dropping off in the morning about 8 am. It seemed like she was just upset for drop off and not injured but I believe she pulled out of an adults arms and they instinctively grabbed her arm. This is a common injury for this age. Around 10 am I got a call she was sensitive to crying but didn't seem injured or sick. I chalked it up to being back at daycare after a wee out due to illness. At pickup she was happy to see me but did still like playing at daycare. When I loaded her into her car seat I noticed she cried when that was abnormal. As soon as we got home I noticed she was entirely avoiding use of her left arm. She didn't grab her milk and cried anytime I tried to touch her arm to look at it. Immediately I knew something was wrong and by 6 pm we were seeing a doctor at urgent care who confirmed and fixed her dislocated elbow. We kept her home for the next few days to ensure she healed and discuss with the daycare what happened. We found a lack of accountability and concerns the sudden and unexpected director change may have led to distraction. Ultimately we were in a tough spot and she was about to move to the toddler room so we kept her in the program for two more months. The teachers are kind and pleasant people and I don't have concerns they would intentionally hurt Charlie but the overall program seemed accident prone at this point, as she had also fallen and hit her head on the corner of the changing table stair that did not have any corner protections. Accidents happen this just seemed a lot for a short period of time. I removed her from the program at the end of November and she began a new preschool in January and has had zero injuries since. Ultimately my concern is in lack of accountability from the director as well as overall priorities from the business owners. I can only share my own experiences at this point. read more

My three children have gone here since they were 7 months with two still in the program. What I can tell you is the teachers are the very best around. They treat all of the kids like their own family and it really shows. I trust dropping my baby and preschooler off knowing they are in amazing hands. My children love going to school in the morning and absolutely adore their teachers. The school also offers a lot of enrichment programs which my children get very excited! My kids have been attending this school for three years . There have been changes in ownership that has been for the better . My kids enjoy going to school and love their teachers . They enjoy the extra curriculum that the school provides as enrichment classes . My son comes back each day sharing new things that he has learned and played with. This school is absolutely wonderful! The teachers demonstrate the perfect balance between silliness and fun while holding important boundaries. It is easy to see how much the teachers love their jobs and the kids they teach and take care of! You can tell by the laughter and smiles that the children love coming to school and genuinely get excited to participate in amazing opportunities such as yoga and science class! I think naturally as a parent we are nervous about our kids starting school/daycare but we are so glad that we took this step forward. Our daughter started in the baby room at 18 month and now transitioned to the Toddler room. We are so grateful to Ms. Emma for taking such excellent care of our daughter. The daily logs helped us see how she ate, how she napped, and any extra notes important for us to know. I loved the honesty and communication. When I picked her up at the end of the day, I saw all the toys being sanitized and organized. The teachers have designated shoes for the play area which I really appreciated. Mrs Emma even goes over and beyond rinsing the lunch box and any bottles. All the teachers including Celeste and Anny made it so much fun for my daughter at drop off in the morning and I never felt guilty because she was so happy. Now that she is in the toddler room she enjoys doing activities and playing outdoors with her friends. We appreciate Teacher Ivette, Teacher Karen and Teacher Lucky for being patient and kind to our daughter. We've had our 8-month daughter here practically since birth. They take exceptional care of her, with love and attention. All of the staff are great (Miss Celeste, Karen, others). But Miss Emma in particular is a standout. She looks out for our kid as if her own. She has tons of health tips (skin eczema, teething, other) and treats our child with tons of love. She also constantly cleans the toys in the room to ensure no kids ever get sick. And while not required, she rinses out our milk bottles every day. Just an above-and-beyond person when it comes to care and little details. Our kid has made friends with the others and is very comfortable there playing all day. It's adorable to see them all playing together and recognizing each other. Lastly, the quality of parents is also quite nice. We've made some great friends whose company we enjoy and are equally helpful. We wholeheartedly recommend this place to any parents looking for a safe space for their kids. We have a newborn son born last month and will be sending him too as soon as he's old enough. read more

5 stars for La Crescenta Montessori! I have been bringing my infant daughter to this daycare center now for 2.5 months. She started when she was 5.5 months old. Finding a daycare was one of the most important decisions. I've had to make a so far this year for my baby. Ms Emma, Anney, Karen, Celeste and all of the other ladies are so kind, welcoming, and very loving with the babies. We have had the greatest experience so far at this facility. I am so happy my baby goes there full-time and I'm able to go back to work. I recommend this daycare to every infant parent I come across. Ms Emma is the number one absolute best reason why we will continue to bring our baby back to this facility. She is so loving and you can 100% tell that caring for infants is in her blood. I'm writing this review to make other parents aware of how bad this place is since there's not that many reviews here. Unfortunately sometimes we have to rely on these types of reviews to get a feel for the place. This place is horrible! I have twins and enrolled them in their infant program. My twins barely turned 11 months at the time of enrollment. We did the tour and asked them questions and they just said yes to everything. Do you guys have a bottle warmer that fits our bottles? Yes. Do you know how to feed the babies "side line"? Yes. Do you try to keep the same schedule we have for them at home? Yes...Gail, the director, is completely out of touch with what goes on in the infant room. She will make it seem like everything is great but has no clue how bad a job they do. Gail said the infant room serves snacks. On the 1st day the lead teacher told me they DON'T serve snacks but luckily we took our kids snacks just in case. The 1st day I drop of my twins the lead teacher was there, Emma (she didn't introduce herself as the lead). I explain to them which twin is which and that their formula bottles are color coordinated and labeled. Bottles need to be warmed before serving and they feed side line, basically lying down on their side. Showed her the snacks we brought. Advised her they need help eating finger foods for lunch and asked her if she saw the schedule we provided ahead of time. She said YES to everything...fast forward to pick up and MY TWINS DIDN'T REALLY EAT ALMOST THE WHOLE DAY!!! She said she couldn't tell who was who (there's a size difference, you can tell). My spouse found her trying to give one of them the bottle cold WHILE SITTING ON THE HIGH CHAIR. The other twin was given the bottle cold and finished maybe half the bottle. She told my spouse she was going to try again later. My spouse corrected her and told her you can't give formula or breast milk after 1 hour of them touching the nipple. She didn't realize this! She fed them the snacks we brought them throughout the day instead of giving them bottles OR the lunch we labeled with names and times to give in the fridge. We asked her why she didn't reference the schedule we provided and she said she didn't know it was there. What about the side line feeding you said you knew how, she all of sudden didn't know how...talked to the director the next day, Gail, lady was clueless....I didn't take my kids back, I lost my $200 deposit but thank goodness I didn't pay for the month because I wouldn't take my kids there for care even if I was desperate. I have an older daughter who's gone to 2 different centers so I have a baseline for what is a good center. This isn't it, this was probably one of the worst that I've seen. A/C is not adequate for that room. They had my kid in pants and he was sweating when we picked him up. They don't wear booties when going into the baby play area. This means any dirt or filth on their shoes goes from outside to inside where the babies crawl. The staffing doesn't look adequate since sometimes staff is rotating and being left with too many kids while sometimes parent come in and need to talk to the care takers. Stay away, try your best to go to another center! Wish there was better support for working parents in this country. read more

I was very hesitant when starting my daughter off at daycare for the first time. But am so pleased with all the teachers and Gail. My daughter is always so happy when dropping her off and picking her up. Everyone is so sweet. They keep me updated with everything. I am very pleased. They've been flexible with me when I needed to drop my daughter off earlier than usual one week. And they always work with me. When friends ask of local daycares I recommend them! read more

The women in the nursery were absolutely wonderful with my baby, and she was always all smiles when we got there and happy when I picked her up. It's a fairly small group of babies which is nice, and the teachers couldn't have been sweeter. It sounds like the reviewer below had a very negative experience, but she had a much more complicated situation than I did. Both of my daughters attended La Crescenta Montessori school. One of them from infancy to kindergarten, the other from pre-k I to 2nd grade. The teachers were wonderful and taught them so well. My younger daughter is in mathelets and I accredit that to Ms Jina and her skillful teaching methods. My older daughter, who has anxiety issues absolutely loves Ms Lucky. They are now 11 and 13 and we still stop to visit the teachers frequently. I also do some office work for the school weekly. I remember the hand foot mouth issue as posted by a parent, there was a child with hand foot mouth, and there was a notice sent home with all parents. The child was removed from the school and did not return until said child had a doctors note. There was also a child in the same room who suffered from eczyma and was suffering a break out. We also had a doctors note for that child who DID NOT have hand foot mouth. Ms Gail cares about every single child in her school. My children and other children at the school have told me personally that she is like a grandma to them. read more

We've had nothing but good experiences at La Crescenta Montessori. Our daughter has been there since she was 3 months old and is still there at 2.5 years. The infant care teachers were fabulous and worked magic on her as an infant. They were attentive and seemed to be very aware if she was having on off day. In the toddler room I feel our daughter has grown SO much. She's becoming confident and independent, loving to color, dance, and sing. Our newborn will be starting in the fall and we are optimistic she'll have the same experience as our older daughter. read more
