Our two year old daughter has been going to Tiny Footsteps for ten months and we trust them like family. I was overwhelmed and nervous about sending our daughter to daycare for the first time. I toured several facilities and ultimately went with my gut when I chose Tiny Footsteps. A couple things swayed me, number one it's a family-run daycare out of the family home. I think for kids transitioning to daycare for the first time, it feels like an extension of home. Like going to a relative's house. There's windows all around and good air circulation -- several places I toured didn't have much or any natural light. The kids socialize all together and I've seen with our daughter that it's given her an extra bit of emotional intelligence. She learned how to interact with the babies from watching Ms. Sevan, and once our son, her little brother was born, was attuned to being gentle and engaging warmly with him. Similarly hanging out with some of the older kids helped develop her vocabulary and motor skills trying to keep up with them. I think of them like a big pack of cousins the way she talks about them all at home. And one of my favorite parts, is that they make good, home-cooked meals. It's been such a great relief that we take Auva to daycare in the morning and she has two meals and two snacks there that we don't have to plan. I absolutely love Tiny Footsteps! My family and I recently moved to Glendale from San Francisco, and finding the right childcare for our daughter was one of our biggest concerns. We had a nanny for the first six months, but as we settled in, we decided to give daycare a try--and we are so glad we chose Tiny Footsteps! From the very beginning, Sevan was incredibly kind and knowledgeable, guiding us through the transition with a thoughtful plan to help our daughter (and us!) adjust. She checked in with us daily for the first couple of weeks, sending photos and videos to reassure us. Since starting daycare, my daughter's vocabulary has grown immensely, and her manners have improved too! She comes home every day with adorable crafts, coloring pages, and new phrases she's learned. Drop-offs are filled with happy, excited kids, and my daughter loves sharing stories about her friends and caregivers--Sevan, Jenni, and Charmaine. The team at Tiny Footsteps is not only caring but also incredibly supportive. They always take the time to listen and offer valuable parenting advice. I never worry about my daughter's well-being because I trust them completely--they feel like extended family to my little Esme. Seeing how much joy my daughter feels at drop-off and knowing she's in such loving hands brings us so much peace of mind. We have been with Tiny Footsteps for almost two years now. We have two children enrolled and couldn't be happier with the care they provide for them. They were a few months shy of two and about 5 months when they started. They have both grown and learned so much in the time they have been here. They have fun every day, have their friends to play with, and are always learning new things. We know they are in good hands and that they truly do care about our children. We will stay with Tiny Footsteps all the way until Kindergarten, and when that time comes it will be bittersweet because they have done so much to help our children grow. Cannot be happier with this place. Love is everything, and this family promotes it above all else. This is our second kid, so we've been thru this before and can honestly say it's the best we've found. Our kid loves them and every day is a great day. Within literally one week of being there we started noticing very positive changes in our child's habits. If you are like me, you can't imagine anything more important and challenging than finding a quality/safe/clean/trust-able daycare for your kid. I tried everything I can to find a loving and educating environment for my 2 year old daughter in and around Glendale & Burbank areas. Finally I found this one in Yelp. I am glad that I found this one. My wife & I were immediately impressed with Sevan and her mom and their home. They also provide all healthy food and snacks, which I Love. My daughter loves the food, activities, reading books, music, dance, puzzles, playing in the back yard, etc etc. Now she eats on her own with a spoon and drinks in a cup. To sum up my experience with this Daycare, it feels like we are dropping our daughter off at our extended family's home to spend the day happily with her friends. I was panicked when I moved & had to find a new daycare for my son. We came across this daycare and I spoke with Sevan- we set up a tour of the house and I was very impressed. Every month she has a new curriculum for the kids to coincide with the season. I love that I feel like my son is getting taught and not just supervised all day. My son loves to be around other kids and also explore... So I knew this would be a great place for him. I also always trust they are fair and they work with us to make sure what they are implementing there we are also implementing it home. As first time parents it helps to know that our son is in the care of experienced mothers. Our daughter has been under Sevan and her team's care (at their other location) for 1.5 years and I just wanted to comment in response to the issue the other parent raised regarding food safety as I had an exact opposite experience with this child care. At six months of age, we began preparing and sending our daughter's daily food with her. We did Baby Led Weaning, so this was real food (not purees) that she would practice (and eventually learn) to eat. It was Sevan and her mother-in-law who informed US that we were not cutting things small enough or cooking the food soft enough to be safe. THEY informed us of this, so it was very clear to me how critical food safety was to these caregivers. They also communicated with us daily about how much she ate, what she ate, and what they would like more of/less of so they can help her eat successfully. It was always a topic of frequent and open communication so it was clear to us that they took nutrition, baby / toddler feeding, and safety very seriously. I absolutely do not want to dispute another person's experience as I am sure there was clearly a miscommunication/issue in that instance and I absolutely support their honesty, but I just wanted to provide an example of our experience, which was quite different. read more

The Manougian Family Child Care is the BEST childcare out there! They give so much love and attention towards each child and I love the daily updates. Sevan will text you pictures throughout the day if you ask her to. I drop my baby off everyday with confidence that she will be well taken care of and learn so much too! The proximity to my office at The Walt Disney Studios is amazing but I'd drive far just to be able to get into this daycare anyway! read more

My daughter was with sevan and her family for about a year or more, and they were amazing throughout our time there. The house is extremely clean, organized, safe, and everything a daycare should be. My daughter was at a total of 3 daycares from the time she was 1-4, and Tiny Footsteps is the only one I would recommend. At the other places my daughter was always dirty, being bit by other kids, not given enough water, or not receiving the attention all children deserve. Sevan and her family are very welcoming and they care very much about the children there. They helped potty train my daughter, they fed her healthy food everyday, they organize family get togethers for almost every holiday, they practice disaster drills, they provide age appropriate education, and the list goes on! At the end of the day every parent must do their own research before enrolling their children in any daycare/school, and as a parent who's experienced a few myself, I highly recommend you check this place out! read more

My 19mo daughter was here for 8 total days. Although i liked the way the facilities looked, i had to pull my daughter abruptly over an urgent safety issue. My daughter has very few teeth in the front, and zero molars. They were serving her inappropriate sizes of hard apple chunks and grapes. In addition to this, they had said on day 1 that my daughter was not eating their food -- which turned out to be a Mediterranean style diet they described, consisting of a lot of cucumbers and tomatoes. I was concerned that my daughter was not being offered her own familiar vegetables (carrots, peas, broccoli, avocado, etc) so we agreed that i would bring my own food for her meals for a while to see how it goes. I did not want her going hungry! After the first week, i noticed my food was coming home TOTALLY untouched. They did not even offer it to her. Then i saw her one day in a high chair, being served LARGE chunks of hard apple, which she is not ready for and cannot properly chew. I was upset and when i spoke to them about it, the mother rolled her eyes at me. When i asked them about other foods, specifically high-risk choking foods like grapes and blueberries, they informed me they were not cutting the blueberries for her and only halving the grapes. I informed them that the american pediatrics association insists on cutting grapes into quarters lengthwise and they should also cut blueberries, and i was met with more resistance and attitude. I pulled my daughter out, but they refused to refund the $500 deposit, even though it had been 8 days, and this was a safety issue. In total, it cost me $1000 for 8 days, and there was no apology or acknowledgment of putting my child's safety at risk. I just want other parents of young babies to know this is how they operate. Edited to add response to the caretaker below: Quite a carefully dictated response! However you fail to acknowledge the following VERY important facts: 1) YOU told me that my daughter was not eating your food, which was why we agreed to bring my own food. You ignore that fact in your response. I was NOT upset your place serves fresh food and veggies...as i clearly state, i was concerned because YOU told ME she was not eating the cucumbers and tomatoes and not eating much food of yours.... i OBVIOUSLY love my child and want her to eat! 2) Your mother ROLLED HER EYES at me when i tried to discuss the cut portion size. YOU GUYS were the ones showing me your complete disrespect and your inability to work with me on the issues. 3) you COMPLETELY ignore the safety recommendations of the American Pediatrics Association regarding 2 VERY common choking foods of young children; grapes and blueberries, and who knows what else. And when i pointed this out, i was ignored and met with more attitude (eye-rolling). 4) YOU care more about taking my money than enforcing safety for the children recommending by the APA, and gave me all kinds of resistance and attitude when i tried to address the issues. Although it is your contract policy to keep the deposit, i think it is fair to point out how you value following your contract rules more than following safety guidelines by the ACA. read more

My daughter is in this daycare and it is the best daycare I have come across. I prefer their setup over the preschool classrooms bigger institutions offer (I had my son in two of those) for a few reasons: 1. I've never seen teachers being as warm and loving while still teaching rules and manners as Jenny and Sevan. 2. I'm very happy about the home cooked lunches and real fruit/veggies for snack (vs the crackers and canned fruit my son got in a preschool) 3. I like the continuity of a mixed age group that avoids a child having to transition to new classrooms multiple times (which always made my son quite anxious). Sevan and Jenny work with children in an age appropriate manner and prepare kids well for kindergarten (learn letters, write their names, etc). read more

I found Sevan and her at home daycare when she messaged me on Care.com. I live in Glendale and work here too and needed someone I trusted and close by. After visiting her location, I was so happy to see this cute adorable home on the border of Burbank/Glendale. Her living room and dining area were fully converted to her day care. Everything was so clean and very welcoming. Both my 2 year old and 9 month old were instantly comfortable and didn't want to leave. She is licensed, CPR certified and First Aid trained. She has a masters in child development and was a teacher. She is very thorough with her paperwork and extremely organized. She even takes CCRC payment! She even installed security cameras inside and outside her home for even more protection and safety! I couldn't be any happier to have found her after so much searching! read more
