Nice ambience and a good vibe on a Friday night. Our meals were served on time and reasonably priced. The food was good however staff failed to point out the specials, and didn't offer cracked pepper with mains. Minor inconvenience but notable enough to write about. read more

I'd give 0 stars if that were an option, because 1 star feels generous. We arrived just before 10:30am this morning and had ordered by approximately 10:40am. The cafe was busy for Father's Day, but it was certainly not full or so busy that what followed could reasonably be excused. The coffee was burnt and unpleasant. When we asked whether the milk used was lactose-free, the waitress simply replied, "I don't know," and walked away. We then had to ask again for someone to actually check. By around 11:20am, approximately 40 minutes after ordering, our food still had not arrived. We explained that we had a lunch booking at 12:30pm and asked how much longer it would be. We were told it would be at least another 10 minutes, so we decided to cancel the food and leave. Instead of simply accepting this, staff began arguing with us and claimed we had only ordered 18 minutes earlier, which was completely incorrect. They then started checking with the kitchen while I repeatedly explained that the issue was no longer whether the food was coming -- we had to leave for another booking. I said I was more than happy to pay for the coffees, but we needed to go. Eventually the bill was adjusted and we paid for the coffees. What really sealed the experience, however, was as we were walking away. Two staff members came over to clear our table, pointed towards us and started laughing. Poor coffee, extremely slow service, rude staff and then being openly mocked as we left. If you want to waste your money, drink terrible coffee and walk away hungry, this is the place to go. read more

I just wanted to express how disgusted I am by the way my family and I were treated at your restaurant last night. We had a reservation for 7:30, arrived on time, and looked at the menu, which was extremely overpriced. After looking at the wine list, my friend went next door to buy a bottle of wine. Within 15 minutes of sitting down, we ordered as we were hungry. We got our bruschetta quickly, which was fine, but after that, we were left waiting. At 8:40, we asked the waitress about our mains, and she said there was a large table ahead of us, and we were next. By 8:45, we decided we couldn't wait any longer and told her we just wanted to pay for the bruschetta and leave. She said we couldn't do that and needed to speak to the manager. When the manager came over, she was incredibly rude. She immediately raised her voice and asked, "What's the problem here?" We explained we wanted to leave, and she said, "You can't do that, your food is about to be plated." My sister-in-law told her we didn't want to wait any longer, and the manager put her hand in my sister-in-law's face and told her to "lower her voice." I stepped in and told the manager how rude she was and that, as someone who's worked in service for years, I would never treat customers like that. She asked how I would have handled it, and I said I would have apologized and explained the delay. The manager responded by saying, "Why would I apologize? You haven't been waiting that long. You didn't order when you got here, and you even went and bought wine." I was stunned by her response. My sister-in-law then went to the register to pay, feeling pressured into doing so. We got our food in takeaway containers at 9:00 PM and left because we didn't feel comfortable staying any longer. If I were the owner, I would be mortified by how this manager spoke to customers. If this is the owner, I feel sorry for the staff who have to work under such a person. There's no defending rudeness like that - customers pay your wages, and this kind of treatment is unacceptable. read more
