Our taxi driver gave us this recommendation, and we are happy he did. This beautiful restaurant has…read morebeen serving amazing Argentinian cuisine with local wines for years. Like everywhere else we ate in Argentina, La Rueda 1975 doesn't skimp on portions; they are extremely generous. They even started us off with a full basket of complimentary bread and butter, which was exactly what we needed after spending hours exploring the Iguazu National Park. The menu has tons of options, pasta, steaks, seafood, and more. I chose the beef ribs, which were big enough to share between two people. They were a little on the salty side, but still really tasty overall. The service was fantastic too, which made the whole experience even better.

Waited 2 hours for entrees - only showed up after asking for la quenta at service stand. Surprise, surprise 4 entress immediately served. 2 entrees came 10 minutes later. Three entrees were cold or look warm. One was rated delicious. Waiter came back and we were so tired and frankly pissed at this point. Restaurant asked to pay for our next bottle of wine, we asked just take off our first one--no way were we going to take any more time. Asked for bill...no one came. Table stood up and finally someone appeared. Waiter said kitchen had off night and so did you. Was that an excuse, a fact or an apology?

But I said no, because I really don't when no one drives for me, hah.. and no one to share dishes that I want to order. But not everyone has the luxury to travel in all the odd timings throughout the year, so I rest my case. I was the only guest in this rather spacious restaurant in the small border town. Italian operas were played in the background. The first piece when I sat down was Verdi's Rigoletto. Suddenly i thought of someone- this was the first opera we watched together. We were so shy and naive. The grandpa-like owner came by to take orders. His English was limited as noted by the previous Yelpers, but he made it up by body language and facial expressions. ;) He explained only a few items on the menu were available. I ordered red grape fondue to start, and spinach lasagna as the main. Red grapes were split open and filled in with cream cheese, and then to be dipped into a small plate of hot cheese fondu in the middle. It was creative and tasted quite interesting. The spinach lasagna was a plethora of cheese and spinach- the cheese was overpowering... I tried very hard and finished nearly half. Grandpa asked me to bag the rest and I obliged for fear of disappointing him and "my lady" as he called his wife. :) For dessert, as usual, I tried two. Tiramisu was a bit dry and oversweet, then I went for a chocolate mousse- smooth but sweeter than I can bear. The 3rd option was a pear with something something. I loved my waiter's body expressions but could only determine it's probably very sweet.. hah In all, I enjoyed the way I was treated and amused on a rather chilly night on the first day of July, 2019, in the Argentine winter.

Heads up, this is one full-blown tourist trap! Avoid it like the plague!…read more Seems as thought their main reason for being is to cater to tour busses while purporting to provide a true Churrascarria (epic fail) and a floor show highlighting various countries of South America (mind-numbingly loud and went on for a little over 2 hours). As someone else mentioned. it's much closer to a Golden Corral than a true Churrascaria. Food didn't come to you, you went to it, then back to long, cramped, communal tables. Waiters brought drinks and water (all of which are extra charge) except when they couldn't be bothered. And honestly, I've had much better meat at Golden Corral, Hometown Buffet and the like. At the end of the 'show' the waiters suddenly appear to collect for drinks, which forces everyone to wait even longer to get out. How bad was the show? About a half an hour in I was forced to make a tough decision - stay inside where it was cool, but painfully and unceasingly loud. Or go outside into the heat, humidity and mosquitoes. I chose the bugs.

I think I only saw like five meats, and one of the meat was so fatty, the meat was good when you could away all the fat. I felt like it was a golden corral restaurant version of the Brazilian buffet. We I thought there were a lot of choices but not so appealing. Our waiter was like a bull in a China shop, he's kind a large, kind of aggressive, and he keep running into our chairs and table. The show was okay, not spectacular, I have to admit, I did love the costumes. It's kind of one of those things that you did it once, and that was enough. I think it would be best if you did it on a rainy day. NOT sure if I'd do it again.

This place just uses salt and pepper. The other place I think has some Asian influence in their seasoning. Not all the wait staff here speak English but there was one particular waiter who spoke a lot of English and was able to help us a bit. The place was fairly busy when we got here but there were still a lot of empty seats. The desserts were okay. Some fresh fruit and assorted pastries and cakes. I think some of the taxi drivers get some kickback or are friends with the owner so the drivers will recommend this place and when you come here, the drivers get a free meal. That's what happened with us. I was originally planning on going to another place but the driver recommended this place and it seemed non-touristy so we came here. There were a lot of locals here but throughout the meal service, I just felt like I was stuffing meat down my throat. It wasn't particularly tasteful and thus I did not have much of an appetite. The waiters keep coming over with various types of meats but a lot of their meats were overcooked and when we tried to ask for medium rare or rare pieces, it never came. I also have a suspicion that the local people like their meat more well cooked than us. I can not whole heartedly recommend this place. Overall, average food for an average price.
