She cut it super short on one side so I had to have the other side cut short to try to match. Now my hair is to the middle of my ear. Nothing else could be done. My summer is ruined. I stopped going there 2 years ago. The receptionists and the hairdresser were so rude. My hairdresser was so moody every time. I changed to another hairdresser and she was very nice but still dealt with the rude front desk. I was a loyal customer that spent a lot of money there until I couldn't take the rudeness anymore. The salon should be a place you go to feel good and not stressed. I complained to Dan but as you can see from the other reviews, he's inadequate to help and frankly doesn't care. I read his response in Yelp to another former customer that they have thousands of clients and 1 unhappy client is too much. Give me a break, there are way more than 1 unhappy customer. I'm 100% sure that thousands number he wrote is inflated to make them look better. After leaving this salon I've spoken with a lot of people in our area that feel exactly the same as me. I've been at a new salon in the neighborhood and I love it there. They are friendly all the time and they make you feel like family. Ladifference, shame on you, word is spreading! read more

I was in dire need of a waxing during a short visit back to the area and schlepping into the city was not really an option so thankfully West Chester has places to choose from. I went to La Difference for over a year. My stylist was polite and did a fine job. However, I found the front desk staff to be rude and unprofessional. The last straw for me was when I arrived for an appointment and was yelled at in a crowded waiting room by the receptionist(the area is small so crowded is relative). She declared that I was late for my appointment and that it started 15minutes ago. I looked at the receptionist and stated that the confirmation message that you left yesterday said 2:45. She looked at me, rolled her eyes and said I'll see if your stylist can still take you. I responded by offering to replay the message that was left on my cellphone. Meekly, the response was no, it's ok we should be able to take you. When I went to check out my stylist said I'll see you in six weeks however the receptionist who was handling the payment for the cut and color did not offer me another appointment. Needless to say, I wasn't going to ask for one because I already decided I wasn't going back. Overall, my stylist was fine but the average age of the cliental is 50+. The place is nice but it is not hip, cutting edge and needs some significant training of the front desk staff. The receptionist in question has the same name as a stylist in the salon. I was offered no apology for the lack of professionalism that was displayed. Truly, if I was late (and I was not per the confirmation phone message) that's not how you treat a paying, repeat customer. read more

This is the best salon I've found in the area! The stylists are always learning and keeping up with trends. Each person I've met there is professional and cordial. I've read a lot about the reception staff being rude- I can understand where that comes from, but perception is key. I have been a long time hair client at La Difference and finally had the opportunity to try some of the other services offered...I wish I would have done so a long time ago! I had one of the BEST facials I have ever had and a completely pain free wax. My esthetician was very knowledgeable, thorough and friendly, she did not push product but made detailed recommendations and I did leave with a few products. I absolutely love the products I went home with, they certainly helped me keep the glow I had when I left the Salon. I have to say after reading a few of the other reviews I am wondering if there is another La Difference because I have never been treated rudely or unprofessionally and I know for a fact that the management would never stand for such treatment or be a part of it! I always feel like a million bucks when I leave the Salon after Katie B. highlights and cuts my hair! She is so knowledgeable about color and mixes the perfect combination of high and low lights. People think my hair is natural. The front office staff is always very warm and welcoming. Dan always asks if I would like something to drink, which is especially nice if I've had to rush to get there from work. I had never heard of La Difference until my children organized a visit for my Mother's Day gift. I was instructed go there at an appointed time for a massage and pedicure. First impressions are everything. The place was clean, and looked comfortably upscale, in good taste without being over the top. There was an adorable grandfatherly guy reading a book on the porch waiting for his wife. Everyone at the front desk was good-natured and pleasant. I had a 90 minute hot stone massage that was one of the most relaxing, therapeutic experiences I've ever had. All my stress melted away. I wanted to take the masseuse home with me! From there I was taken to the nail salon area and had a glass of wine with the pedi. I floated out of there, wondering if it was legal to feel that good. La Difference may not have the most youthful vibe, but there are no age restrictions on feeling pampered and cared for. Great parking too! read more
