Dip power on long nails- no shaping, very lumpy finish and they argue with you when you point it out. No cleanup of cuticle area and they look worse after the service. First time they had someone re-do the manicure. Second time they tried to give me to the original tech and then rushed me to someone else who did just as bad a job. 2 days later I went to another salon to have them fixed. The worst part- Roach in the pedicure area crawling out from under the seat. When we pointed it out to staff they laughed and left it there. Always good vibes for me coming here. I only get my nails done like twice a year and I am pretty easy going. I went for a walk in appointment on July 10th. Although I wrote down what I wanted and stated verbally twice when asked ( acrylic gel yellow French Tip / gel Yellow French Tip pedi)... I got a regular mani/pedi WHITE French.. and this is what they look like after only two days? And the chipping started yesterday. Once I realized half way through the service that there was a miscommunication I just let it go because at least they were cute and the nail tech was so nice.. BUT THEY DIDNT EVEN LAST 24 HOURS! And it's gel? Can't be. And I am on vacation in NJ so I can't even walk in for a fix! read more

I have been going to American nail for a few years now, I've only gotten my nails done here all through college, and I've had a few bad experiences but this time really did it for me. The reason I like them so much is because it was and they have loads of color options. I went in for a dip manicure, I sat down and my girl did no prep like normal just straight to the dip. she was moving way too fast and was super rude. It was the worst dip I have ever gotten. lumpy and chunky on nearly every nail and there was power and hard dip all around and under my nails. I went back and they just cleaned it up. While getting my nails done at this establishment, the nail tech did not provide the design I had requested. When I asked for my nails to be redone, the owner approached me multiple times with a passive aggressive and rude attitude. She repeatedly placed the blame on me for not communicating earlier and mentioned that her staff needed to get home, even though it was only around 6:30 PM and their salon closes at 7PM. I felt rushed out and made to feel like I was the problem for speaking up about the service. The manager's repeated comments made me feel uncomfortable and harassed, as if I should feel bad for expressing dissatisfaction. Overall, the way the situation was handled was unprofessional and disappointing. I do not recommend this place based on how I was treated as a customer. Part of running a business is maintaining respectful communication and addressing concerns professionally, which I did not experience here read more

Update: see response from the company. Really disappointed with my last visit. I've never had any issues here before until today. I actually loved this place. As you can see from my previous photos, they did such great work and I never had a complaint. But after today, I will not come back. I didn't get what I wanted and I did the thing we all dread, I spoke up. Because these are my wedding nails and if any nails should be perfect, it should be your wedding nails. I didn't get the shape I asked for, I didn't get the look I wanted, and the jewels I asked for look nothing like the reference picture and just overall very sloppy placement. The moment I spoke up about the shape, it just went all down hill. I got uncomfortable stares and immediately just wanted to leave. The guy who did my nails started to get super rough after I asked for him to redo the shape, he twisted my fingers painfully. I felt so uncomfortable at this point. Then I got the wrong pink and white ombré. I wanted the powder and got like the spray on thing. The manager came over and the nail artist asked "do you want me to just start all over?" They told me I should've been more specific. But I thought I was clear... the manager asked me which one I wanted when I walked in, I showed her the reference picture and the manager said along the lines that the photo was powder. But I received the acrylic. The manger kept convincing me to do the acrylic at that point. So I did bc I didn't want to be there any longer. Once the nail artist started cutting my cuticles, he pulled a little too hard and made me bleed. Still I just kept going with it. He did apologize but I was so ready to go. He got to the jewels, didn't look at the reference pic, and he asked if I like them. I said "well they don't look like this" he took them off and did something similar but the jewels were placed very sloppy. I could tell he was done with me. I wanted to cry. These are my wedding nails. I paid $90 and still tipped bc it's what you do. I will have to get these redone somewhere else. I have never felt so ignored at a nail salon ever. Card Held Hostage - Avoid at All Costs I don't usually leave reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others. I had one of the worst salon experiences here, and I'm honestly still in shock. The quality of the nail work was unacceptable--my nails came out clumpy, uneven, and lumpy, as if no care was taken at all. I politely spoke up about the results, hoping they'd correct or at least acknowledge the issue. Instead, I was met with extreme rudeness and hostility from the staff. No apology. No attempt to fix it. Just attitude. To make matters worse, they refused to return my card after payment until I agreed to add a tip. Yes, they held my card hostage over a service that was poorly done and handled with zero professionalism. Needless to say, I will never return and I strongly advise others to steer clear. I have been going to Amer. Nails for several years and I used to like it. Something happened there and it's not the same anymore. My favorite technician left. The woman handling the front desk is not at all friendly. She acts like you are a bother when you arrive. Several more of the technicians have left - there's an unhappy atmosphere in the salon now. So, the last time I walked in there and asked if there was anyone available that afternoon to give me a manicure, the woman looked at me and said "We don't take walk-in appointments"! I was just asking if there were any openings that afternoon. She was so rude. And, this was after coming there for years, always tipping well and giving my nail technician and pedicure technician a $$$ Christmas gift. So, I'm looking for a new place that welcomes their customers with a smile. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! The staff is very welcoming and the techs always ask you questions to fit your preferences. Also, the prices are fair and CONSISTENT! I like that they do walk ins and even when it's super busy, I never wait long ti get seated. I always get the dip powder nails (way better than acrylics in my opinion) and they look flawless every time! Safe to say I am and will always be loyal to this salon. :) read more

do not come here. this nail salon is basically a factory where in exchange for *too much* money you get incredibly sloppy manis and pedis. the icing on top is the rude employees. i've been giving this salon my business since i was 19 years old and in college, so now 6 years. this used to be the place to get your nails done in WC. since graduating i've moved to philadelphia but i have friends in the area i visit so i still go to american nails sometimes. i'll keep my grievances short- the manicures and pedicures are done at such a speed that they're so messy. i'm all for an efficient job, but the nail techs are so completely not detail oriented at all and will give you a very hard time if you try to kindly express your preferences. then you walk to the front and pay a price tag that does not in any way match the quality and experience. today there was not even a wait, so i was hopeful for a better job, but i think all the workers are used to giving the bare minimum so that's just the standard now. i've given them multiple chances, maybe it's just the specific tech i had that day..... but no, just bad across the board. i will not be returning. read more

I have been a loyal customer for about 5 years coming in consistently every 2-3 weeks for acrylics and tipping 25% each time. My last few visits have been nothing less than ATROCIOUS. The technicians and staff are extremely unprofessional, rude, and downright nasty to their guests. They do not care about quality and rush while doing the nails. They are also sloppy and cut you without apologizing or cleaning out the wound. Not to mention, they do not use clean drills for each person and their stations are filthy. The nail in the coffin for me is the fact that they FULLY MAKE UP PRICES. The prices make absolutely 0 sense and are different each time. They are now charging for "cut down" when they just file your nails and even when you request no cut down, they still do it to get money out of you. I experienced snarky comments and rudeness when confronting them about their haphazard pricing. They doubled down and said it was the machines "surcharge" and theres nothing they can do about it. The woman at the front desk bulldozes over you when you speak up about poor service and the pricing discrepancies. All and all, save your money and do not step foot into this sad excuse for an establishment. It's sad to say, I really loved this place but it has gone completely down hill. read more

I do believe this place has some great employees by observing the girls next to me and intricate designs I saw in the salon. I wish I knew the name of the lady that did my nails. I got an acrylic set and both of my hands are different lengths, which I do understand that sometimes it's hard to get it perfect but they are both significantly different. I am able to live with that out course but the one problem I have that I will definitely need to get fixed is one of my nails is completely crooked. I went to this salon because my daughter recommended it. I got acrylic nails. The guy who did them was pretty nice. I had a few cuts on my fingers which I pointed out & he was careful not to bump any of them. Overall, he did a good job, but he didn't do the design right. I showed him a picture, but he did it different. He did ask me if it was OK, and I asked him to make the correction, but he still didn't get it like the picture he was looking at. But what he did looked OK, so I decided not to make a fuss over the difference. The acrylics started to come loose in about 2 weeks, so I went back to have them taken off. That's when things went really wrong. First of all, the girl who took them off told me I didn't look like someone who would get acrylics. I'm not sure what she meant by that, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't a compliment. Then, as she was taking them off, she broke not just 1, but 2 of my actual nails. And I'm not talking about chips off the end. I'm talking about breaks that run all the way across the nail bed! When the first one broke, she was apologetic, but when the second one broke, she denied it was broken. I could see the line, but she said it wasn't broken. It hurt when they broke & it hurt even more when I had to put my fingers back into the acetone. The girl told me I shouldn't get acrylics any more. Was she saying it wasn't her fault? It was my nails that are too fragile or something? I don't know, but I will take her advice & not go back. The attached pictures may look like the same nail but they're not. The first one is my left hand, showing the pinky finger, and the second one is my right hand, showing the index finger. I had a great first experience here! I went in for a full acrylic set with gel. I was super happy with the color choices for gel. They had a huge variety of options. I did not make an appointment but they were able to take me right away (the place was huge)! Unfortunately, I do not know the name of the woman who did my nails, but she was very friendly. She did a great job on my nails, but still relatively quickly. I love how they turned out and a few weeks later, they're still in tact. I'm excited to return this weekend for a refill!! read more

I got a full set done TWO DAYS AGO,I'm not returning.The lady who did my nails made them so thin towards the bottom they are just cracking and the tops are falling off. I didn't jam my nail on anything it's just from everyday living. Another disappointing encounter was the woman who did my friends nails straight up just refused to do her design (it wasn't complicated at all). they both just had miserable attitudes. Wish I got a refund because this experience was awful and not worth the money at all. I will be finding a new salon. They don't do hand massage with lotion like every other nail salon I've been to either. The only upside was I had no wait and the man who did my airbrush color was nice. I luckily was able to reattach the broken nail (ring finger and the pinky was starting to crack off along with a couple on my other with poly gel till I can get to a place tomorrow for them to fix this. I really like this place, they make me feel comfortable most of the time. Meaning they do all talk in a different Language I mean I know when I usually walk into a Korean nail salon they almost always talk crap LOL, so I'm guessing that's what their doing to. But besides that they come up with great designs and I like how they suggest certain nail designs or nail shapes according to your actual nail. Quick, clean, efficient and flawless. Everyone is so nice and this has been the only place where the nail technicians don't give me an attitude when I ask for a certain design. Great selection of colors and pricing. I got a French gel manicure and the nail technician did a great job with not over doing the white tips. They even use two UV lamps for each hand to make it go quicker. One of my nails 'peeled' off the next day and they quickly got me in with no appointment and fixed it at no charge and apologized - Wow! Would definitely recommend a try! read more
