I came in for a blow out since I was staying in the area and Blaze was super close. (Booked over the phone prior.) The place is adorable and well kept. Melissa was my stylist and was perfection. Super sweet and super attentive. Justin washed my hair and was super nice as well. Both Melissa and Justin never let the process feel rushed. They both lived in the moment and were genuine. Kudos! I have been going to this hair salon for over 5 years and I love it. The staff is very kind and thorough. I have gotten blow outs, haircuts, balayage and foils at this location. I have seen several hair stylists and they are all great at what they do. The pricing is reasonable, it is a higher end salon but not ridiculously costly. read more

I have been to Blaze Salon twice now and both times have been enjoyable experiences. I did some research prior to going to the salon because even though I get a very simple haircut, I like to know that the person doing the haircut is reliable and well liked among clients. The salon had good reviews and it seemed like a good fit. I looked at the stylists and found myself being drawn to Alexis because she seemed to have the specialties I was looking for. I was offered something to drink while I waited and got my hair washed by Justin, who made nice conversation with me. Alexis did a fabulous cut and it only took about 20-30 minutes. She made good conversation but not too much and it did not seem forced. I will definitely be making this my regular salon. read more

Came in for a blowout and and cut and unfortunately witnessed a manger/owner being extremely rude to employee. I watched this employee run around and assist multiple stylists and still be treated in a horrible manner. I don't think under any circumstances you should talk to another grown adult in the condescending way that she did. Blowout was great but atmosphere was extremely uncomfortable. read more

I have been going to Blaze for many years. Most of the time I have been fairly satisfied until yesterday. Stacy was my stylist there and she spilled bleach on my finger which in turn dropped onto my pants. I understand things happen but she did not even apologize and seemed aggravated when I asked for something to wipe it up with. I sent a message into the salon hoping they might try to remedy it but they did not. I am so disappointed in this salon and will never go back. I have been coming to this salon for about a year. I always end up needing a new stylist because the ones i used quit or left on maternity leave. Anyways, I have caribbean hair so my hair is curly but unruly. I went to get it fixed the first time since i chopped it and just needed it leveled out basically. I ended up with disastrous hair. It was different lengths. The girl cut my hair while curly and ruined my hair. I called and told them what happened they said they would fix it for free and booked me with a senior hair stylist. I should have known better... My hair is now RIDICULOUSLY short! I look like a mushroom because she cut off so much beyond belief! I can't wear my hair curly because she overly layered it and it sticks up. I can't express my regret in coming to this salon. If you have curly or even wavy hair I would turn around and run for the hills! Never coming here again. read more

I am very disappointed in this salon. Before I went to this salon for the first time, I had only gotten haircuts at discount places. My first haircut here was the best haircut & haircut experience I have ever received and left me amazed with how incredible my hair looked and felt after just a simple haircut. The stylist took the time to ensure I got the hair look I wanted after the cut, even though it took a while. However, this stylist has left, and since then, the quality of service has plummeted. I went to receive a colored style, showing a picture of exactly what I wanted, and was left sitting around for literal hours on end that reached a point in which I genuinely think I was forgotten about on multiple occasions. The color turned out an awful brass orange, and entire bottom half of my hair was solidly colored (orange) instead of the original ashy highlighted-look that I clearly wanted. It seems as though the stylist made a mistake when they were applying color to my hair, as they went, "I put so much color on already...I'm just going to go all out" which was clearly not what I wanted, but it was too late by that point. Then the stylist quickly styled my hair in a curled look that ended up looking very poofy and messy, despite the fact they knew (or should have known) my hair texture would not fare well with that type of styling. To top it off, the stylist said "it looks just like the picture!" and to this day I'm not sure if that was meant to be a joke. I went again for a haircut at later time, and although my haircut did look nice and my hair felt fairly nice, the stylist did not style my hair in the way that I asked for, choosing the fast and easy way out through just blow dry- curling my hair and leaving it at that (poofy and messy once again). I will never be coming here again, and I advise you to exercise caution as well. There are many other salons that still take the time to provide the best experiences for their clients instead of rushing through things and ignoring your wants. read more

I got my hair cut and colored by Sara D here and she did an awesome job. The cut was exactly what I wanted. The color was actually better than what I anticipated. Definite will come back to her. Prices are reasonable and the salon itself is set in a beautiful old home that has been converted. The rest of the staff was friendly as well. read more

I went to Blaze for 7 years and truly loved it, however I absolutely noticed a decline in service when they moved to their space on Church Street. I had trouble booking appointments with my stylist and eventually had to switch to someone else. Although that went well for a little while, over time the attention to detail declined as well. I have bangs which of course requires frequent appointments - my appointment times were rarely honored (sadly, even when a bang trim only takes five minutes), and my bangs were botched more than once. Sometimes my stylist wouldn't even take my ponytail out to comb all the bangs down for a proper cut. I would come home and realize half the bangs didn't even get trimmed. And after my trims, I would leave with pieces of hair all over my face and shirt, looking like a mess. One day I had to ask her for a lint roller, and I actually had to run home on my lunch break one day to change because I was wearing my bangs after my mid day appointment! Last July, the day before I was attending a wedding, she truly botched my bangs - it was like she cut my side bang backwards and then cut the center choppy. It was shorter on the side and longer in the middle of my face! It took nearly five months to grow them out and work up the courage to go elsewhere. Speak up when you go to Blaze and ask questions - I regret not confronting my stylist on how terribly she cut my bangs, and I regret not contacting management about it. read more

I liked the cut and color from the first appointment and I was eager to come back. Only problem is scheduling. Last week, the stylist called out sick. No problem. Glad she didn't have me come in, especially if she was contagious! I called back this morning to rebook the appointment. Settled on 6 p.m. today. I rearranged my evening schedule (busy time at work) only to receive another phone call asking me to change the appointment to 2:15. Ugh....can't make that. This may be a fabulous salon but I am giving up. read more

Every staff member we have interacted with is friendly, professional, and extremely competent. Whether it's a cut, color, prom styling, keratin treatment, brow shaping, or manicure, these professionals are very well trained and pleasant. Lots of research was done before booking, but I finally bit the bullet and went to Blaze after reading so many wonderful things. My stylist was Lauren Diaz and I truly cannot say enough good things about her. Everything from her technique and professionalism to her attention to detail and ability to really listen to what I wanted and make it work for my skin tone. I'm from out of town and was looking for a place to get my hair cut and colored. I found the place on line and read the reviews and decided to try it. The place was great and so was my stylist. It is the best cut and color I have every had and I'm extremely picky. Alexis spent a great deal of time with me to determine the color first and then the style. I am someone who is into low maintenance hair-- I want something that looks great but doesn't need to be constantly maintained. My stylist (who I LOVED) left and so I was scheduled with another hair stylist. I explained what I wanted-- through pictures, explaining the kind of tones I wanted, and again how I am someone who doesn't want to do a lot of upkeep... and she said she was able to provide what I was looking for. Instead, of a light brown balayage I was looking for, she turned my hair to a mixture of blonde and brass. As someone who has naturally dark hair, the extreme contrast is a total eye-sore. I paid for the service and tipped her well but I will never see her again-- and honestly, I'm not sure if I will ever be able to step foot in that place again. It's a shame because I enjoyed the atmosphere but I can't get past how damaged she made my hair by bleaching the heck out of it. I've waited over a month now and I'm going to another salon to try and repair the mess she made. I'm nervous of how this will affect the health of my hair but I'm equally embarrassed to be seen with this hair. In addition, I've never used Yelp before and debated whether to share this story or not, but that's how awful I felt this experience was. I recommend to be EXTREMELY careful when you're assigned a new stylist!! read more
