Was in town for work and stopped in for lunch chips where cold and the salsa was ok. Server brought us our drinks and did not return for 15 to take our food order. Not sure what he was doing but they did not seem very busy. Ordered the burrito deluxe which was the daily special, which the server didn't even know. The service was slow and the food was barley warm. I got two burritos; beef and chicken. It came with red sauce, lettuce, tomato and sour cream. The beef burrito was soggy inside and the red sauce on top of the burritos tasted like pizza sauce. We sat at the table waiting for our bill for 10 minutes before we got up at payed at the counter. Great Mexican food! Some of the best around! I took a trip to Taos & found out they need lessons from La Fiesta! It's totally delicious!

Although competition is lacking this is one of the best restaurants in McPherson. The food is satisfying, the bar is full, and the selection is ample. The molcajete is the best and most impressive entree on the menu. read more

This isn't a great Mexican restaurant. It rates because McPherson doesn't have too many restaurants, and one of their other Mexican joints (Ponchos) is possibly the worst Mexican place I've ever eaten at. La Fiesta does make good fajitas, of course I didn't think it was possible for a Mexican restaurant to screw up fajitas and keep it's doors open until I ate at Ponchos (sorry, I know this review is for La Fiesta, but I can't say enough bad things about Ponchos, and people keep eating there!). Not too long ago, La Fiesta made the biggest and best tamales I've ever had. Then they closed down for some inexplicable reason (I heard rumors but don't know why they were closed for a while). They reopened and then their tamales had the consistency and look of baby poop. Fortunately, they didn't taste like baby poop (though I can't say I'm a connoisseur of baby poop), but they weren't good either. If you want good Mexican food and are passing through McPherson, don't stop, Just keep on driving. Salina does have some good Mexican restaurants. I imagine Wichita does too but I can't say I've found any that impressed me. read more

We visited La Fiesta for the first time, today. It will be our last! The food was ok. Not anything special, but ok. The wait staff was terrible! It appeared our server and one other person in the kitchen were the only two employees in the restaurant. Our server paid no attention to us. Our beverages were brought to us at the same time as our meal. (I was thirsty.) We had to ask for forks and napkins... We were never offered refills on our drinks, we had to hunt her up and ask for refills. There were children sitting in the corner table, which appeared to be hers. She was much more interested in entertaining them than taking care of business. As we were waiting for our ticket, we found some kind of ugly bug crawling the wall next to us. (How do they pass state inspections???) Don't bother stopping at La Fiesta. It's the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. read more

I've lived in California for a long time and I've eaten a LOT of Mexican food in my lifetime. This place is as authentic as you will find anywhere in Kansas, which is where I grew up. I sat at the bar, ordered the enchiladas suizas (or whatever they called the plate there) and couldn't have been happier with the food, service or my top-shelf margarita. I understand that the restaurant has recently reopened; this was my first time eating there. I wish the owners the best of luck with their restaurant--a great addition to the community. read more

I pretty much got what I expected from this place: a giant plate of food, a bunch of chips and salsa, and several hours of being hunger-free. It's not bad, but not the best. The chips and salsa were pretty good. I got the veggie chimichanga which had a nice variety of vegetables, but the cheese sauce hovering in and around the plate had that plastic, congealed consistency that freaks me out a little bit. Overall it's certainly not the worst Mexican I've had, and they definitely have great service. If you've been to parts of the country where you can find great, authentic Mexican food, you probably won't be too impressed, but you won't hate it. read more

I had a combo platter to try several different items. The enchilada, taco, and tamale were all good but the chili rellenos was super greasy and really soggy. Overall I would rate the food as good but the price I thought was kind of high. We had two meals and only water to drink with the bill coming to almost $32. The staff was nice and friendly and the place seemed clean. My buddy said he would rate his plate of green tomatoes over chicken enchiladas a 4. He said it was good. read more

0.99 Margarittas on thursday are alright. They are not frozen so the quality of margaritta verys between drinks. The last few times i have been there the margaritta cups have been hot like they just came out of a dish washer. The food is only ok but seems pricey for no more food than you get and a bit bland. read more
