save yourself some money and go to the grocery store. Pick your self up a couple frozen burritos and call it a night.

Zero stars! !! This was the worst $35 I've ever spent in my life. They are so americanized, they don't even have cilantro in the restaurant! Pico? No, tomato and onion. $35 for lunch for 2 with water. 3 tacos and a chicken fajita plate. The sign outside suggests they are proud of their fajitas. Absolutely disgusting. Zero, I said zero spice, seasoning, or herbs. Chicken chunks fried in a bed of oil. My tostada was missing beans. The place looks dirty, dust balls hanging from ceiling. Never again.

    Taco salad!! Yum!!!

I'm surprised this restaurant has such low reviews. In my opinion, this is the best Mexican food on the West Bank. Yes, many of the dishes are Americanized - but most Mexican restaurants in general are Americanized. The food here is simple yet good. I like the cozy atmosphere. Monday through Friday they have a $7.99 lunch special that you can't beat. I will say that I do not particularly care for their guacamole; it's too creamy. The service is always impeccable - friendly and attentive! I like the margaritas but if you are searching for something very boozy then go elsewhere. I like the fact that they are a little weak because it allows me to enjoy one at lunch without getting sleepy. Some of my favorite dishes are the fajita chicken taco salad, tacos or tostadas.

If you don't know already, this is usually the breakfast location for Chicken's Kitchen, just up the street. They're just consolidated for Saturdays. The breakfast here is amazing, especially if you can get there on a Friday for the City Gravy. It's to die for. All of the breakfast options I've had here are amazing (shrimp allergy, so I don't know about the biscuit boat, but I bet it's amazing), and the maple biscuit is fantastic. I went here today for lunch. Unfortunately I missed the fried ribs by about five minutes so I got the fried chicken instead and it did not disappoint. Probably the biggest chicken breast I've ever seen, seasoned and cooked to absolute perfect. I had a large side of dirty rice, which was amazing (I'm running out of adjectives), and then a double order for two small sides of the Five Star Mac and Cheese (there's an upcharge to do that but it's worth it, although the other sides are great too). It was so much food I had to save part of the sides! We also got the pepper balls (looked great but the shrimp allergy) and Brussels sprouts. Sorry this is a lot, but you also need to know that Chef Marlon is a genuinely amazing human being. He does a lot for the community, and he does an initiative called Feed Them Kids, where he gave free meals to kids this summer, and even extended that. So you're not just getting one of the best meals of your life, you're also helping out!!!

It has retro vibes, and I loved how the outside looked. The inside was just as cute, with 80s toys lining the walls. There was ample seating. The hashbrowns were very crispy and seasoned well, so I loved them, as soggy hashbrowns are a major pet peeve of mine. The chicken biscuit was good, but I'm not 100% sure it was to my taste. It was massive and very hard to eat, and there was a lot of fried chicken skin. The mayo on the sandwich was definitely homemade and had a very strong egg flavor, so I would go without that next time. The biscuit was probably the best biscuit I've ever had. As a California girl, I think the flavors might have just been a little too strong for me, but still a great spot to stop by.

Like where have I been?! We are forever grateful for that alone. As someone who already loves Vietnamese culture through food here in New Orleans, this place just hits. Vietnamese coffee is a staple for me--not even for energy, but for the flavor. If you know, you know... that bold, strong, chicory-meets-condensed-milk moment. It's rich, it's cultural, it's intentional. And when you start adding things like pandan cold foam? Simple, but it speaks volumes about the influence and beauty of the Vietnamese community here. I respect it, deeply. Now let's talk about that Croffle... a croissant-waffle situation. I went with the Chantilly and berries because... you already know, I'm gonna choose what feels like home every time. The cream was smooth, the fruit was fresh, everything worked. My only thing--personally--it was a little heavy on the almonds for me. Still good, just my preference. We also had The American--eggs, bacon, French ham, hand-cut fries, garlic aioli, and a baguette. I shared it with my son and made my own little sandwich moment with it. Used the aioli as a base, layered the eggs, bacon, and ham... and I feel like that's exactly what it was meant for. Solid, simple, and filling. I've tried a few other things too like the bánh mì and donuts. The bánh mì was good, donuts were okay... not my go-to for that. But that frozen cocktail? Listen... it was TOO good. Took it to a festival with me and between that drink and that sun, I slept the whole festival away lol. Overall, I'll definitely be back. I still want to try more from the kitchen--especially that chicken everybody keeps talking about. This is a great spot for early weekend brunch, late evening studying, or weekday coffee runs. Not too small, not too big. Beautiful lighting. A really good addition to Gretna.

It's always nice to find a place that offers a little something different instead of the usual tourist fare. I went with the Shrimp Carbonara, and the portion size was impressive. The dish was loaded with large, juicy shrimp and packed with flavor. It was one of those meals that looks great when it arrives and somehow tastes even better once you dig in. The service was quick, friendly, and kept everything moving smoothly, which was appreciated after a day of exploring. My only minor critique--and this is purely personal preference--would be that I would have preferred the shrimp tails removed. It certainly didn't take away from the meal, though. In fact, it led to one of the funniest moments of the trip when I squeezed a tail to remove it and accidentally launched it across the table toward one of my buddies. Thankfully, my aim was terrible, but the table got a good laugh out of it. Great food, generous portions, fast service, and a fun atmosphere. We checked into our nearby hotel a bit early in the day and was looking to hit the streets for a spot to get a chill/light breakfast, a coffee and maybe a cocktail. We found all the things at Luzianne Cafe. Whether you belly up to the bar or grab a table, both of which are first come first serve, you start at the counter where you order, pay and grab your table number. It appears that during busy times they allow you to sit first and order from the QR at your table, this is an assumption given the code to order at the table, but the sign at the entry directed folks to the counter to order before sitting. For breakfast, we got the breakfast biscuit which came with eggs, bacon and cheese, and sided it with grits. The breakfast sandwich was solid, eggs were a bit soft and grits were more mealy than we are used to, but I think that may be authenticity of the area more than anything. I opted for the three option omelet with onion, sausage and gouda plus a side of sausage links. The omelet, though odd sounding combination turned out to be solid. Maybe it was my options, but it was decently "one note" in flavor. I tossed a little hot sauce on and that helped. However, while the sausage links were not much to look at, they were tasty, with a nice snap to the casing and meaty inside. To go with our breakfast, I got a cold brew with a splash of almond milk while my partner embraced NOLA and started his day with a bourbon sour. Both of us enjoyed our choices! Service was friendly and helpful at the counter/bar. The food runner was nice and then another member, assuming the Manager, that stopped by to check on us mid meal. She was super friendly and nice. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and drinks at Luzianne. Minor things noted, mainly on the cook of the eggs, but nothing awful. It his the spot and checked the boxes!
