My last visit to Fiesta Latina was a horrible experience from the start. Arrived and was rudely greeted by a server who advised the credit card machine was down. During this time some people in our group walked to a near by store to find an ATM. Server brought out chips, never asked if we wanted drinks but asked if we needed more chips. Bottle 16.9oz Coke, asked for Mexican Coke and was told no more. Ordered chorizo queso for it to come out as thick as velveeta cheese. Asked for it to be hotter, came back from the microwave 2 minutes later. Food then came out, cold, lettuce with carrot strips. Other parties food appeared to be microwaved. Servers were not pleasant and very rude. As many times we have been here, definitely gone down hill. Even asked if management has changed. read more

Surprisingly delicious, and quite traditional Mexican meal. Have eaten here maybe 3 times before but not for a while since the entrance to the airport moved. But had reason to meet someone at the rental car hub and this was close by. Did not disappoint. Just delicious food - the beans, chips, salsa, plantains, chicken, burritos etc. Also easy to eat vegetarian in my here. Large portions of authentic food, very reasonable pricing and nice service. The food here is mostly Centro American, I see a lot of complaints and I'm confused bc my experience at Fiesta Latina has always been terrific, I go almost weekly. They have possibly the best pastor tacos in the city and awesome asada tacos. The Salvadoran tamales are especially delicious, as well as the pupusas mixtas. read more

It's been several months since we had breakfast here. It is still good as ever. We were not disappointed. The only thing is the service is lacking. We had to go and pay at the counter because we were finished and our server never came to see if we needed anything else. If you don't mine the servers not checking on you, make it a point to visit for breakfast. My husband and love come in for breakfast. It is hard to decide on what to get because everything is so delicious. However, my go to is the Huevos Rancheros. All the flavors blend together to create fiesta in your mouth. I also order a side of fried plantains to enjoy with a bit sugar sprinkled on top. The whole experience is worth the trip to South Kenner. This place is starting to be a family favorite for take out, but I still like dining in for the decor and margaritas! The decor in the restaurant is really colorful and vibrant; makes for a fun environment. The margaritas are a really good size, and made well. I always feel like the price is more than worth the portion sizes and quality of ingredients. The menu is interesting with a mix of food options for all taste buds and traditions. No matter how good everything looks, I always end up going back to the fish tacos. The fish is so flavorful! I also really like the corn and beans as the spices and textures are all on point. Bonus is that they always have really nice and friendly service. If you're dining in, they do have a nice parking lot, and once we're all traveling again it's great proximity to the airport to stop on the way if you're dropping off or picking up. read more

Ok, so my Venezuelan friend says I want to take you to a good Spanish restaurant and so of course the foodie in me says hell yeah! she takes me to a side of town I dont see very often and ill leave it at that. we sit by an empty stage? and the waitress comes up to take our drink order. I order a very white girl drink,iced tea. It ended up being sweet tea but I drank the liquid sugar anyway. We ordered the pork and cheese papusas,fried plantains and the sopa de marisco(seafood soup) everything was amazing! Im still dreaming about the broth. The plantains are served with creme fraiche(american terminology) and are heaven in your mouth. The papusas were good but I think next time I either wont order them again or ill doctor them up a bit. The soup contained white fish(prob tilapia),tons of shrimp,mussels and celery and onions in a coconut milk broth. Yummy! 3 people can easily share it and I happily ate my leftovers the next day. This place is my favorite little hole in the wall! I've been going here for years and can never get enough of it. Their authentic pupusas are to die for and their carnitas tacos are perfect. I love how cheap their prices are and how flavorful their food is. The staff is always friendly and I've even ordered take out a few times which has always been the same quality and quantity as their dine in. Their fried plantains are also delicious with either beans or their white sauce. I will say their chips and salsa are just alright, but I never go there when I'm craving a place with great chips and salsa. Their entrees speak enough for themselves! The food was terrible. I ordered the 5 mini chicken tacos and the chicken was super dry. I ordered the bucket of beer and it advertised a free appetizer. When I got the bill they charged me for the appetizer because I didn't mention it when I ordered it yet I pointed it out to the waitress before ordering ( of course I mentioned it to her, it was her error but she took no responsibility) I also ordered a margarita and I sent it back. The tequila and mix were awful tasting. Of course I was charged for it too. Overall customer service is lacking in addition to the quality and taste of the food. Typical mexican/american fare. I had the fiesta burrito. It was large but mostly filled with lettuce. complimentary chips and salsa. The chips tasted old and the salsa had a unique taste. The waitress was not too attentive as I had to flag down 1 of 3 workers to get our waitress to return. We were the only customers in the place for about 20 minutes and 3 others showed up. The place needs an overall cleaning. Cost with tax and tip was about $15. It wasn't very satisfying and I probably won't return. I also wouldn't recommend. read more

Great Mexican Food On the Corner This is a little gem of a place serving really good Mexican & Central American food. I have been here more than a few times over the many years and it's always really good. I ordered the beef vegetable soup and this is not the first time I have gotten it. It's the best I've had. Delicious beef flavor and the Mexican veggies are large. I also ordered one soft beef taco which is grilled steak. It too is terrific. If I could give ZERO stars I would. The food was DISGUSTING. I haven't been here in a while but used to eat here frequently. NEVER AGAIN. The tacos were so greasy I picked one up and a stream of grease was just falling off. Not a drip or two. The shredded beef was pure fat and tasted old the pork shoulder was way over cooked and so greasy the tacos were swimming in grease. The crema tasted expired the beans tasted old even the rice tasted like . I don't know if they have a new cook new management or a new owner but the food went straight into the trash. This place is wonderful. I was looking for a non chain/non fast food restaurant to pick up take out from before my flight out of the New Orleans airport last week and came across this small business. The staff seem to be primarily Spanish speaking and although my Spanish is awful....they were extremely friendly and helpful. It was relatively quiet when I arrived but by the time I got my order, the place was full. Now the orders are each prepared fresh so it took a while to get my take out order so if you're in the hurry, I wouldn't recommend that this be the place for you. I ordered a special platter with beef and chorizo and it was amazing! The portion was large, the meal was fresh and the variety of flavors was delicious and fresh. This was the most unusual and oddly authentic South American dining food experience I have EVER had. Us gals roll up to this obscure hole in the wall, already I can hear the music booming as we park in the lot, 'Katie, where exactly are you taking me?' 'Annie, the food here will blow your mind - trust me!' I decided to trust her. In we walk and the whole room stopped to look at these obvious non-South Americans... I had my bag with Spanish writing on from my time in Guadalajara, Mexico. So I figured if I made sure to display it as we took our table I might get some credibility - yeah right. There was a live band playing the type of music I listened to on loop when I worked for a Mexican restaurant back in the day, happy days. The speakers covered the stage, the place was way too small for all them and they were too loud, not that I of course intended to complain as I am sure that would have gone down like a lead balloon. One piece of advice, bring a friend that speaks Spanish. Thankfully Katie does. We got the plantains, corn and I tried pork pupusas which originate from El Salvador, they were great. They came with a side of pickled cabbage, rice, beans. Unlike 'Mexican' food, this was authentic and not loaded down with cheeses. I also got a flan for dessert which evoked happy waitressing memories. At one point the singer did a shout out to all the countries in the house, the folks from Honduras to the left of me made their presence known as did several other South American countries which was really cool. As I took in the atmosphere of laughter, tequila shots, attractive waitresses dancing between the tables, I noticed over 10 security cameras, 'Katie, why the hell do they have so many cameras for such a small place?' 'You know I never noticed that before - huh.' And then a fight broke out, the band stopped playing and everyone rolled out into the parking lot as I continued to eat my flan. That said the staff where lovely and thanked us for coming as we left. Advice, do please come here as the food is real food from the region, but come for breakfast or lunch not at 9pm on Saturday night. read more

My fiancé and I were looking for new restaurants and stumbled across this listing. We checked it out before a movie on a Saturday night. They stayed fairly busy the whole time we were there. The food was excellent! We got yucca frita appetizer, he got a pupusa plate and I got a mixed grill plate. The meats were flavorful, the plantains were excellent, and he really liked his meal as well. We will certainly be back! My mother's birthday dinner for 18 was awesome! The service was efficient and friendly, and the food was soooo good! I want to thank the staff for taking care of our big family so well. Fiesta is one of our most favorite restaurants, it's where my mom loves coming to for her birthday. The platanos and beans are the best here! The pupusas are only $7.95 for 5 and that's a bargain. I was in town for work and wasn't really located in a good area for restaurants. So, I checked my Yelp app and found this gem. This isn't located in the greatest part of town. So, I wouldn't recommend a single lady going alone at night, but then again I'm from out of town. I ordered a pupusa with beans and cheese. I've never had once before to tell you if this is authentic, but judging by the decor and the people serving - it is. It is also mighty tasty. I could have seriously eaten a heck of a lot more of them. I also ordered the Carne Asada lunch plate. The meat had great flavor, but it was pretty tough and kinda fatty. Some people like that type of meat. Turns out that I don't. It came with more refried beans, some white rice, and a salad that tasted like it had 1,000 Island Dressing on it (not good). After IDA this place has changed. Have gotten two delivery orders in a row wrong. How do you eat fajitas without tortillas? I called and was told I could come get them. Says 'They are very busy'. That defeats the whole purpose of delivery! I pay extra for delivery so I don't have to go anywhere. I also asked for no jalapenos on my chimichanga, both times, and it was filled with them. The chimichanga used to come with a cheese sauce, now it's a red sauce. You have to ask for the cheese. Orders used to come with chips too, not any more. I give up. Used to be one of my favorites.
