I don't know…read moreabout Rosti as a place to eat (it was packed when I was there) but as a spot to grab a drink and people watch, I think it fits the bill. Again, it's helpful to know where you are, the makeup of the neighborhood and the expectation of what's going to happen. With that said, my group was looking for a place to rest our feet as we'd been trekking all over Pigneto, eating gelato, taking pictures, talking with folks, looking at flats, and having a good time doing all things local on a crisp fall Sunday afternoon.
Needing a cocktail, we wandered into the RaP courtyard as some sort of birthday party/soccer watching match was going on outside and in. This meant the screaming of little ones and grown men. This *really* meant I needed a drink. Choosing not to be a stereotype and ordering a Negroni, I opted for a Hemingway Daiquiri. I joked that I needed it to be as strong as can be due to all the chaos. Perhaps something was lost in translation because I was served a glass of green rum... and I was quite alright with that. And the drink wasn't served in the traditional (sometimes shallow) glass. I received a hoss pour/glass for 6 euros and that suited me just fine. As I sank into my chair and sipped my potent potable, the screams faded into the background and and all I was left with were good feelings.
If all RaP cocktails are served up to be this strong, count me in.
